Rising Storm Review RealGamerNewz

Rising Storm comes from Tripwire Interactive the studio that has brought us other titles such as Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, and of course Killing Floor. I have play all of Tripwire Interactives games and have one thing to say these guys know FPS. Following the history in their game history Rising storm was done in conjunction with the modding community. The game also has steam workshop added into the multiplayer which is a great way to add some flavor to the game with new maps and new weapon mods.

Rising Storm takes place in the Pacific theatre which pits you as american’s versus the japanese, with this also comes there respected weapons such as the M1 Garand, Type 38 rifle, Knee mortar, and the M2 Flamethrower. Rising Storm has no single player to it just multiplayer which is where this game really shines. When you first start up the game you will have a training mode with several different scenarios to teach you how to play the game. This isn’t your average FPS because you get bullet drop and old school iron sights.

Gameplay is awesome if you come from playing a action FPS you will fit right in and it also has a slower mechanic to it, you only will be able to take a shot or two before you die luckily you can bandage yourself up for a percentage of your health. This game won’t set any records for best looking game but it still is a beauty to look at.

The controls for the game are basic FPS controls and this game is really easy to pick up and play nothing to advanced you also do have a training mode in the menu to learn the basics of the game. You can play the game as four playable factions: the United States Marine Corps, United States Army, Imperial Japanese Army, and the Special Naval Land Force. The sound in the game has very classic music that really immerses you in the game with music from that time period and the sound of all the weapons are spot on they really hit it home on this one.

This game is all about multiplayer so you will have a ton of replayability with the addition of Steam workshop there will be endless ways to play this game. I love being able to play with up to 64 players in a match, sometimes the room fills up with bots but they can be halfway decent at the game mainly cannon fodder. The game could definitely use some more people playing it and i can see the community getting bigger with Steam sales and a low price of $19.99.
