Fake GTA V File on PC Gives a Bunch of Pirates Virus

By Jon I in News

GTA V PC Virus

PC Gamers beware, that file you think is an advance copy of Grand Theft Auto V for PC is not, this title still does not exist (although it might eventually). Something like a cruel exercise in karma, apparently a file being circulated around pirate networks online was created to maliciously infect users with malware and / or a dangerous computer virus. 18.3GB of filler information houses something that could do serious damage to your machine.

The ‘setup.exe’ file contained in this package is reportedly a fake installer that will unpack the problem data onto your registry and hard drive followed by a “gotcha” moment when the dumbest of pirates are expected to fill out surveys for a registration key that does not exist, and would be entirely illegal even if it did. Support video game publishers and developers and pay for the games you want, piracy hurts the industry and issues like this don’t effect to legit users. You have been warned.
