The Bridge Xbox 360 Review RGN

Now this title has to be one of the most unique titles I have ever played, even when it comes to the puzzle genre. Mario Castañeda the artist on this title seems to have crafted some kind of a masterpiece in this 2D game with the art, the levels, and challenges all leading up to crossing the bridge.

Soundtrack, Audio, Voice: The OST in this title features some ominous themes such as a mix between happy and sad which is very odd for music but still great in the game. You can hear balls rolling and other items when you need to rotate for puzzle/platforming mechanics as far as sound effects go.

Graphics, Physics, Glitches, Engine Performance: The art style in this game is some of the best I have seen. Sometimes the main character can look creepy at times, and there’s plenty of symbolism especially with the chess board as seen above. The Bridge has physics involved with its rotating objects in specific patterns and moving to avoid things in order to get doors open to proceed. The game engine used in The Bridge works good with flawless performance running very, very smooth.

Controls / Gameplay: As I stated earlier gameplay really consists of rotation and using your mind. This game really does require critical thinking that some people just don’t have. The Bridge is going to for sure be one of the harder games in the puzzle genre as you get deeper into the chapters. Lots of focus on getting to the door that gets to the next level is needed. Sometimes you need to find a key, other times you need to just go straight to it, or even move things out of the way of the door.

Story: The game starts off with the hero, which is never named, waking up by an apple tree after a good rest. Readings appear on the screen from time to time, thought to be him, throughout the game which slowly unveils the story and back story of The Bridge even to an eventual mirror image ideal. One day you will be able to cross the bridge. You will see what is on the other side. How well you are able to critically think will determine if you can get to it.

Replay Ability: High

Final Verdict: The Bridge is one of the most interesting games I have played, keeping interesting levels and thinking constant. The Bridge is by far one of the best games of the year. It shall get a 9.75 out of 10 making it a .
