Blade Symphony is a fighting game developed by Puny Human aka Team Dystopia. Blade Symphony started as a Half Life 2 modification and the fans and team behind it have supported the title enough that its been made into a full release. The game is currently in a Beta / Early Release phase and Blade Symphony is shaping up to be a solid fighter for the PC. You choose from a bevy of fighters and a number of blades from warriors across time and space.
Each warrior has three stances (Fast / Balanced / Heavy) and each blade gives the warrior a different swordsman style. If players have a katana they will fight like a Samurai or a Ninja but if players have a Simitar things look more like the Arabian Knights. Players face off in the arena normally lasting 3 rounds (a la SoulCalibur) until the winner is decided. Players even have access stars / knives you can throw at your enemies and charged slice to decimate your foes in one blow.
The combat in Blade Symphony is akin to Bushido Blade, more tactical than most fighters but still thrilling none the less. The graphics are sleek and stylish showing off the futuristic but grounded future presented in Blade Symphony with great sound effects. The soundtrack is okay but adding in custom soundtracks could be a nice and welcomed addition. This early version suffers from online lag, input lag and lack of modes but if Puny Human fixes all of these things Blade Symphony will be a great break from the hyper kinetic fighters that run the fighting game scene.
