Yes, Assassin’s Creed is back for the third straight year, but now you get to play as Ezio from the past two titles and the original assassin Altair. In this series that has barely revealed anything, gamers keep coming back for more. Players like me keep coming back to play Assassin’s Creed for story and the new multiplayer that was introduced in Brotherhood.
Now in Revelations we face uncertainty as the cliffhanger ending of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and still the ending of the first Assassin’s Creed are unanswered. The title of this game says it all and so does the headliner “All will be revealed”. Hopefully at the very least it will be a lot more than we know.
The multiplayer is a lot bigger and better in Revelations. Now don’t get me wrong – it was good in Brotherhood definitely one of my favorite new multiplayer games of 2010 but the servers have issues including lack of characters. I also felt like the progression system was like a downgraded COD point system. In Revelations it’s improved servers you are playing on and the multiplayer plays a more important role to the story. You can hunt down targets to kill and unlock for the multiplayer. Most of them have a story behind them in one way or another as well.
The new gameplay engine makes the Creed better and makes Ezio, Altair, and maybe we will see a little Desmond action. You can jump over people toss smoke bombs and so much more. It’s something I’ve wanted to see since Assassins Creed 2 which is still my favorite in the series, but maybe not for long as Revelations has it all.
Assassins Creed Revelations is a must buy for 2011. I prefer this mainly for Playstation gamers but Xbox gamers will enjoy this if they like multiplayer so go out and get it, I know I am – Signature edition here we come.
