Game of Thrones Episode 2 - The Lost Lords

Game of Thrones on Xbox One is back for another round at RealGamerNewz. When we last left you off, things were going a bit crazy. We’ve reached the point where Ironrath is held by Whitehill but the real intensity again comes from interpersonal drama between the characters involved. This episode will see players taking the role of various characters (such as Asher) including some less than favorite folks you may know from the show. The Lost Lords kicks off with one of the famous double, triple betrayal moments that made the HBO show Game of Thrones popular in the first place, and pits you right in the middle of a scandal through which you wind up being framed.

There are moments where the game takes a sort of point and click adventure approach. Weapons can be grabbed from the environment, and information can be derived depending on the choices you make when interacting with objects around you. The combat system is at its finest for true Telltale style as dodging, attack timing, and quickly making precise selections as to which attacks to make plays a crucial role in each scene. The brutality, cussing, and overall darkness of the atmosphere are what you will know, love, and expect if you’re at all a fan of the Game of Thrones television series.

Final Verdict:

There has been some fair amount of criticism as to the lack of weight some decisions players make have on the overall outcome of the scenes in this episode of Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series. That being said, the second episode of this game features a more interesting series of combat scenes and for me as a gamer, I find that more important. All the deep story-line branches and viscous double crossing that players expect to see is here. Even if you have never seen the HBO television series, interesting characters who have a lot going on are at each other’s throats and it makes for a great time.
