Next Tuesday on June 16, 2015 the 1 Terabyte Xbox ONE bundle which includes Halo: The Master Chief Collection and the new analog-port featuring controller go on the market. Players who invest in that package will have more space to install games on and be able to use line-in style headsets such as earphones to communicate through Xbox Live Party Chat or Game Chat. The matte design of the new Xbox makes it visually distinguishable at a quick glance.
In addition to this announcement, Microsoft revealed that the standard 500 GB Xbox ONE SKU will be permanently discounted to $349.99 further encouraging those who don’t have an Xbox ONE yet to pick one up. A Special Edition Covert Forces camouflage edition of the new Xbox ONE controller is available for purchase for $64.99 and the traditional black style edition of the new Xbox ONE controller by itself is $59.99.
A wireless adapter is also now being sold for Xbox ONE controllers being used on Windows PC for $24.99 or bundled with a controller for $79.95. Though Microsoft accentuates the support of this adapter for Windows 10 platforms, it’s likely it will also work on older versions of Windows 7, and Windows 8 which already support many games through plugging an Xbox ONE controller into the PC’s USB port and downloading the Official Microsoft Xbox ONE Controller Drivers. This new accessory would likely expand that same functionality to wireless in addition to adding support for Windows 10 tablets, laptops, and desktop computers.
E3 2015 is just under a week away and with Xbox claiming “this year is the biggest year in Xbox history” there is surely something to look forward to while contemplating these gaming console offerings from Microsoft.
