The sequel to the 2009 video game is being removed from online stores, including Steam, Xbox Marketplace and the PlayStation store. Volumes 2 and 3 of Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma have also been cancelled according to developer Versus Evil in their recent interview with CGMagazine, citing the first volume as a “failure”. Players who purchase Vol. 1 will be issued refunds.

So we’ve begun the process, it’s been a long process to figure it out because Sony has never really had to do this in this way, but we’re returning all the money. So across the board we’re putting out an apology saying ‘sorry about this,” Versus Evil general manager Steve Escalante told CGMagazine.
Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma launched back in September for PC and PS4 (Oct for Xbox One) to a complete thrashing from critics and. The PS4 currently sits at 21/100 on Metacritic with 15 negative reviews.
