Modern Warfare 4 Could Bring Back Killstreaks

By Jon I in Industry Talk

With all of the recently spotted Modern Warfare 4 promotional campaigns surrounding an inevitable announcement from Activision themselves, Modern Warfare 4 hosts a body of work that could once again change the direction of the Call of Duty series. One of those changes that separates Treyarch’s latest Call of Duty: Black Ops II from the Modern Warfare series is the advent of the Scorestreak system which rewards players with extra attacks based on points per death rather than kills per death.

Modern Warfare 4 is likely to be heading to the game industry with its old Killstreak system, unless the Infinity Ward and Activision use Scorestreaks like Black Ops II. Allowing Modern Warfare 4 to bring back the Killstreak system many loved in previous Modern Warfare titles would give fans a chance to have it both ways. Scorestreaks on Black Ops II and Killstreaks on Modern Warfare 4.

This, of course, like any action that the Call of Duty developers take, is sure to bring much fan scrutiny and speculation. It depends on whether or not you would rather pick the Killstreak system over the Scorestreak system, and bring it back to the old style of playing Call of Duty online.

  • Who cares?

I hope we desire more than 7 more years of Kill Streaks from the next generation of gaming.

  • Just more catering to the camping crowd!! We need less of that cowardly s***! I used to wonder why it was more profitable to camp, until I saw Activision players playing COD – and they’re all a bunch of f***ng campers; f***ng cowardly sissies!! Wish I could play against them, and make them taste me FMJ bullets from my deadliest of deadly scorpions!!

  • Bring back Assassin Pro… make it blur the player sprite too!

Also bring back motion sensor, heart beat monitor, and recon pro… but make recon last the ENTIRE life of the victim!

Also bring back Sitrep sound whoring!

    And dark corners!

People really need to understand what is and what ISN’T camping.

Remaining in a targeted traffic area and/or holding down that area with a gun suited for that job is NOT CAMPING. If you’re in plain sight, and simply using a powerful LMG to hold down a long sightline area from cover, it’s NOT CAMPING–especially in objective-based games.

Sitting in a dark corner IS camping.

One day, complainers will realize that standing still is not camping, and that there are other ways to play besides running around like a moron.

  • All i want is intervention back, is that so much to ask for.
