Tristans Twisted World: Transformers Fall of Cybertron Review

By Tristan Werbe in Reviews

The sequel to one of 2010’s biggest surprises. Transformers Fall of Cybertron urges to be a big time multiplayer event. It also wants you to get into the story and feel like a young 80’s kid again. They want to bring out the best of what they trying to with the AutoBots vs Decepticons  The thing is how does Optimus Prime and Megatron match up with each other this time around?

Soundtrack, Audio, Voice: The heavy hitter futuristic music in Transformers Cybertron games have gotten even bigger up.  Music such as the main theme and the song called “The Ark”. The Audio is usually mixed in well expect in Escalation it sounds kinda to. Voice acting is suburb from actors like Peter Cullen fulfilling his legendary role of Optimus Prime.

Graphics, Physics, Glitches, Engine Performance: The graphics are very pretty and High Noon studios polished it very well as it has only a few glitches. The physics set up very well as you transform into three modes of assault, vehicle, and of course character build. The Unreal Technology is used well in most of High Noon’s games this is one of those games it is big time pushed and makes everything feel good.

Characters / Enemies: Transformers has always had some of the best characters more than any other series. For example Optimus, Megatron, StarScream, GrimLock, SoundWave, ShockWave, Cliffjumper, and Jazz seem to have more work put in for them but it kinda makes sense this time around. The enemy classes are copy catted for both factions but all different abilities. For example some transform fly and then stomp to snipe, others carry heavy turrets, and then others are foot soldiers.

Gameplay: There is not too many changes from War of Cybertron and Dark of the Moon. There are some new features though such as the weapon swapping, new powers, many new little features but it really makes the game. The third person shooter and heavy hitter vehicle gameplay make it a truly fun experience.

Multiplayer: The multiplayer uses a similar leveling system. Pretty much the same game types and the same teams set up  All of the maps are really unique and very 80’s retro looking. Also all the classes which let you pick characters or use the new mix and matching features that allow a custom character out of the four classes. Depending on which class gives you powers of a certain choice. You can buy items for characters such as weapons, new pieces, powers, and add ons.

Escalation: Escalation is horde CO OP mode where you can play as your favorite Transformer characters, with their own powers, weapons, and abilities. Depending on the map depends on which characters are available. The waves start with no doors unlocked and weak enemies the more you progress the harder it will become.

Customization: The way of how you can build your own Transformer are limited to class and pieces you have available. For example, you can be create a tank that has wheels and goes faster, or a really fast jet but with stronger health. It is all about how you want to play our game.

Story: The story picks up after Transformers War for Cybertron. The AutoBots must leave Cybertron for any hope of bringing back there home and their once proud race. MegaTron and the Deceptions have pretty much taken over Cybertron by this point. Some details from the first game have shown up. This game mainly hints to either a dimensional sequel or the TransFormers battles on Earth. The story is very well written as the DinoBots play a huge role, but going into detail would really spoil things for you guys. But watch out for what StarScream does.

Final Verdict: Cybertron’s last stand really leaves the series open for further games. The AutoBots and Decepticons  war will rage on in a new location as this game really hit the bullet point. TransFormers Fall of Cybertron gets a 9.4/10.

Replay Value: Decently High

Overall Score: 9.4/10
