Halo 4 Rumor Roundup Part 2: New Details/Preview

If you missed the first Rumor Roundup from Tristan, check it out here.

As we all know Halo 4 is in the new Game Informer rumors and stuff is flying up everywhere so well talk about some real and some rumor in 343s coming up FPS and easily one of the most wanted games of the year Halo 4.

As we see in the picture above Master Chief’s new look is better than ever with his sleek new design which personally I like id like to hear your thoughts in the comments. Apparently as stated in my first Rumor post Chief will have more emotional tear if they do show it as it says in Game Informer I might see it being compared to something from Mass Effect 3.

Cortana and Chief will share there emotional bond more in this which as just friends or maybe even more its unclear at this point. Chief will also have more superhero like moments as he faces his destiny. Halo 4 takes place 4 years 3 months and 10 days after Halo 3.

The new HUD is supposed to give more of a 26th century fell to like your acutely using this tech and acutely one these super soldiers. There are gonna be a wide variety of weapons as you can see above the Battle Rifle is back.

Also old weapons such as the DMR and AR and Magnum and many more are coming back but tons of new weapons as well. The multiplayer will have custom load-outs not like Call of Duty’s custom class but more with Halos spin there will be tons of stuff. Stay tuned for more details in this area.

The games graphics are highly increased just from these pictures it looks like the best game I’ve ever seemed very awesome. The areas look very real and smooth hopefully the controls will bring some balance between the two.

There has been some interesting concept art such as this picture with what looks like to be Halo type tech. Maybe such as an all out assault on the tower?

This picture as recently become interesting which it looks like Halo with maybe a spartan in front of it. In the distance it looks like a forerunner building but we will see about this sooner than later.

Spartan Ops is a new tv series mode that has seasons which is believed to gain new content for free and not download just menu updates or as playlist updates more details be give later.

The main enemy hasn’t been revealed yet but the Covenant is back to some extent and unclear what role they will play. The flood has been ruled out by a post on the waypoint website but interesting enough it seems they main villain may be the Forerunners it seems more likely than the Precursors but is still unclear maybe both of them we will see maybe soon or maybe when the game releases for more mystery.

The Halo Wars Cast might make a return as if you took the time to beat that after the credits it says “Captain, Wake Up” which goes into Wake Up John for Halo 4 well have to wait and see.

So let me hear what you think about this so far in comments id love to hear your thoughts and for you 360 gamers something big is coming up for you on the site so stay tuned and see you starside!

Tristan’s Twisted World: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Review

Call of Duty 8: Modern Warfare 3 is the latest installment of the best selling FPS ever, but it’s on every system – is that why it sells so much? Is this game really even worth it?

Multiplayer: The supposed “most fun multiplayer out there” is back again with new classes, kill-streaks, guns, equipment, etc. Some of  the new ways to play in Call of Duty this time around sort of feel like playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the first time.

The maps have improved from Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2 with some more featured locations. Some of the new weapons and such make this Call of Duty a lot more fair than other entries in the series. For example, the Commando perk has always been was way too overpowered for its inaccuracy and the stakeout could shoot someone over 50 yards which doesn’t make sense for a shotgun that size. MW3 has fixed all of those issues and made a more balanced multiplayer.

The servers are still terrible. It might just be all of the players but since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare the series has suffered a never-ending plague of dropped games. Even years after a game has come hopefully they may update it or in a future title make it more dedicated. The kill-streaks are a lot more realistic this time around. There’s no random attack dogs or surprise nukes making me think MW3’s balance is far by none close to the best if not the best of the 8 games so far. Despite the fact the maps seem a little too close to the campaign , I tried to cope.

Special Ops Missions: The missions sort of felt like Battlefield 3 but that’s not a bad thing. Despite the fact that teamwork is not needed as much in these missions, it does add to the replay value of the game. They are fun missions in which you will usually end up doing objectives like defending areas and such. It is a worth it to play through it for me personally but hardcore multiplayer gamers might want to skip it altogether due to the lack of teamwork.

Special Ops Survival: The staple stone of the multiplayer for me in MW3 it feels like a first person Horde on Gears of War and definitely blows Black Ops Zombies away by a long shot. It requires some teamwork especially when you’re facing a russian juggernaut. For big co-op games or just endless waves of fun, COD Zombies fans this is something worth playing in MW3.

Graphics: The Call of Duty 8: Modern Warfare 3 graphics can be considered in the 2009-2010 standards of good graphics as they improved a lot since the E3 demo they showed when it looked like MW2 but if you haven’t played this game – think of Halo 3: ODST, that’s what this game looks like to me  visual quality-wise.

Call of Duty Elite: The new progression system in COD:Elite is full of lag so I couldn’t get perfect on this. I’ll be back to review the service when the first MW3 map pack comes out, sorry folks.

Campaign: The best part of this game for me in an epic single player story mode. It pretty much takes place right after MW2 and shows what has happened in all Modern Warfare games. It starts out like MW2 but it’s World War 3 so it looks like the reveal trailers – it’s a good intro.

Captain Price and Soap play major roles in the story again but during most of the game you play as Yuri an ex-spetsnaz soldier who helps Soap and Price. You also play as Frost, an army marine who serves in Delta along with Grinch, Sandman, and Truck in Delta.

You play as other characters as well but personally I didn’t think they mattered as much to the story. You fight mainly in America, England, France, and Germany of course as shown in trailers. This is where MW3’s World War 3 mainly takes place. In this about 6 hour campaign which I’m glad they extended the time a little bit. it still makes for a great experience. The story mode is for anyone who enjoys epic moments, intense fighting scenes, and just plain old Call of Duty.

Final Verdict: This game is not for everyone. Mainly big FPS gamers, Call of Duty lovers, and multiplayer gamers want to pick this up. If you like a little lag, mindless shooting, and over-the-top story modes give it a whirl, since that’s what most Call of Duty games revolve around. Tristan’s Twisted World awards Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 a 5.5 out of 10 since I’ve bought the same outdated game style so many times I’m finally sick of it folks.

Overall Score: 4.5 out of 10

Modern Warfare 3 Gets Hacked on Xbox Live, What Else is New?

As we all know most Call of Duty titles have been giant hack lands for hackers. Every iteration of the game has arrived at our doorstep with promises from the developers that this time things would be better. Black Ops saw a small window of time before it resembled Modern Warfare 2 in terms of campers and exploits. Now we have Modern Warfare 3, the game that just released in the Call of Duty series, finally hacked.

It took less than a month. You can now find infected lobbies in the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 according to a new post at It is unclear if this effects the PlayStation 3 or the PC versions of the game but it is this author’s opinion that it probably effects all of them and is just worse on the Xbox 360 due to the fanbase being more into game-breaking exploits. If you were on the fence about picking up this game and worried about the multiplayer, this may be an indicator that you should just wait until Call of Duty 27 before hopping back in on the franchise.

Tristan’s Twisted World: Assassins Creed Revelations Impressions

Yes, Assassin’s Creed is back for the third straight year, but now you get to play as Ezio from the past two titles and the original assassin Altair. In this series that has barely revealed anything, gamers keep coming back for more. Players like me keep coming back to play Assassin’s Creed for story and the new multiplayer that was introduced in Brotherhood.

Now in Revelations we face uncertainty as the cliffhanger ending of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and still the ending of the first Assassin’s Creed are unanswered. The title of this game says it all and so does the headliner “All will be revealed”. Hopefully at the very least it will be a lot more than we know.

The multiplayer is a lot bigger and better in Revelations. Now don’t get me wrong – it was good in Brotherhood definitely one of my favorite new multiplayer games of 2010 but the servers have issues including lack of characters. I also felt like the progression system was like a downgraded COD point system. In Revelations it’s improved servers you are playing on and the multiplayer plays a more important role to the story. You can hunt down targets to kill and unlock for the multiplayer. Most of them have a story behind them in one way or another as well.

The new gameplay engine makes the Creed better and makes Ezio, Altair, and maybe we will see a little Desmond action. You can jump over people toss smoke bombs and so much more. It’s something I’ve wanted to see since Assassins Creed 2 which is still my favorite in the series, but maybe not for long as Revelations has it all.

Assassins Creed Revelations is a must buy for 2011. I prefer this mainly for Playstation gamers but Xbox gamers will enjoy this if they like multiplayer so go out and get it, I know I am – Signature edition here we come.

Tristan’s Twisted World: GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Micro Review

[Welcome to Tristan’s Twisted World by Tristan Werbe for, check out my Micro Review for GoldenEye 007: Reloaded.]

One of the best games of the 90s for Nintendo 64 is now coming to Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii but can the PS3 and Xbox versions live up to how it plays on the Wii and even the 3ds?

Xbox 360 and PS3 Multiplayer: To my surprise it was a very well balanced game with decent servers on the Xbox 360 and PS3. It feels like a standard shooter online, but with more features than your average gun game in some aspects. It almost looks like you’re playing COD but feels like your playing Medal of Honor. There is a a good variety of maps to play on with friends or complete strangers. Players that lived on gaming back in the Nintendo 64’s hay days will love the multiplayer but anyone who is used to a more mainstream multiplayer game like COD might skip over it.

Wii Multiplayer: As we all know GoldenEye 007 came out last year for Wii and was burned and crashed into the ground for being a Wii exclusive. The multiplayer servers were crap and matches dropped like crazy. As I remember I never finished a match – that’s how bad it was. But now with Reloaded, it actually feels greater on the Wii than the other platforms. The Wii seems to bring the best out of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded when playing with a classic controller and hitting some buddies up. Going retro with 4 player split screen is very fun still offline and online. The servers are improved on the Wii as this game may bring the Wii out of the dark ages for FPS and their archaic online play seen in most other Wii titles.

DS version: Most handhelds can’t seem to bring greatness from good games. It pains me to say this is the same case for such a well improved game as GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. Not even in 3D could get it up to greatness. The graphics on this version are terrible, the story is messed up, overall it’s really just a half done job.

James Bond: Daniel Craig, the current James Bond, is 007 in GoldenEye. His voice acting is wonderful in this game, better than in Quantum of Solace, and that was probably the best 007 game of this generation – until now.

Soundtrack: The classic music is now mixed in with some great new tones that fit in when needed. Other than that you should know what to expect.

Graphics 360/PS3: Very well made as it looks like the very improved version of the last game for Wii big time. On the other two consoles it is brought mainly to have better lighting and textures.

Graphics Wii: The best looking Wii game ever made besides Skyward Sword and definitely the best FPS to ever be on Wii as it feels better than the 360 and PS3 versions of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. It feels very dramatic in the new first person moments that weren’t in the last one and are new to the 007 series.

Campaign: If you know the story to GoldenEye you already know what happens but it is a very updated version and I enjoyed the story more than anything in this game. Some of the moments seem to improve over the original for the Nintendo 64. It’s an intense, awesome, and at times breathtaking campaign.

DS review: The DS version just was plain out terrible. I give it a 3.5 out of 10 – do not buy unless you are a hardcore 007 fan or just buying a cheap game for your kid’s DS.

Xbox 360/PS3 review: A great shooter on both systems – buy if you like COD, Homefront, and 007 for these systems. I give it an 8 out of 10.

Wii: The star version of the game is, to much surprise, the Wii version and it gets an 8.5 out of 10 in Tristan’s Twisted World.

Tristan’s Twisted World: Dance Central 2 Micro Review

[Welcome to Tristan’s Twisted World by Tristan Werbe for, check out my Micro Review for Dance Central 2.]

The year’s biggest dancing game for Kinect on Xbox 360 is Dance Central 2. Can this new exclusive be one of the top Kinect games on the 360?

Songs: All the songs and DLC songs from Dance Central will be brought into Dance Central 2 with all its new and great songs such as DJ got us falling in love agian and some other great titles.

Gameplay: The mechanics from Dance Central are still in this game it plays the same mainly a big dlc disc for more features options characters and songs.

Graphics: Dance Central 2 somewhat looks real, unlike most dance games, and has great movement animation for the arms and legs.

Final Verdict: As the game is pretty much the same as the first and there is really not much to talk about after playing it I suggest to only play if your a casual gamer or if you enjoy Kinect games I give Dance Central 2 a 7.5 out of 10 so let’s Dance.

Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Preview

I present to you my preview of the remake to the game that jump started the first person shooter console multiplayer scene to a new level that it’s still at today (in classic, HD, and 3D). I am going to give my impressions, predictions, and back up how I got to these conclusions. The campaign was one of the best in the franchise, and I believe one of the best of all time (check my stats). I enjoyed it back in the day, but now there are a lot of new features, such as terminals, that will give more back story and previews of Halo 4.

There also is a scanner with which you can scan dead or alive enemies and learn about them. You can even scan allies and do the same. All of the guns are improved with sounds and the improved game engine makes it easier to fire. It is upgraded with the Halo Reach multiplayer and you don’t need Reach to play the Combat Evolved maps because they’re on the disc already.

The multiplayer will have six maps for competitive multiplayer and one firefight map, the names of which are: Damnation, Beaver Creek, Prisoner, Timberland, Headlong, Hang ‘Em High and the Firefight map, Installation 04 or Battle Canyon, Breakneck, High Noon, Penance, Ridgeline, Solitary, and Installation 04. The names are all over the place but we will see for sure tomorrow. These are great maps, better than any Reach map. I was impressed with these.

The firefight will have some new features, such as having ODST’s help you in combat and of course the pre-order skull Grunt Funereal will pack a plasma punch on your foes. The Halo Combat Evolved pistol will be in the Firefight and Multiplayer as well and will cause a lot of mayhem, but great fun as it will bring the fun Halo original felt back to it.

343 and Microsoft hope this game will bring a lot of great and mystic Halo feel back to it. Fans have been waiting for this game for a reason, so I’m telling you if you have an Xbox 360 this is a must-try (at least). It’s only 40 dollars at launch for all the great features it has, so spartans gear up for Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary on November 15th and if you just want the multiplayer maps to plug in to Reach you can download them for 15 dollars on the Xbox Live Marketplace, see you star-side!

Halo 4 Rumor Roundup: Detailed Plot + Gameplay Possibilities

There are a few rumors that a 343 Industries worker may have given some info out on Halo 4 (which is set to launch holiday 2012). Now I don’t know how accurate any of this is, or even if any of it is true one bit, but I’ll share what I’ve found with you. According to rumors, 343 Industries are going to focus on story.

This is the Master Cheif 117 John and Cortana’s story as they are on some kind of world or station called Sigma 7. There is also deep levels of customization, not just in the multiplayer. This is also in the campaign mode, possibly similar to the level of Crysis 2 character customization in the story, but a lot better with way more options.

Halo 4 may be an aim game but the shooting style will still be the same just with how you aim down the sights in most FPS games. The battlefields will be larger and more cover-based, possibly even a direct cover system for an FPS, which is unheard of, but may be a great improvement – it is unknown for sure the ramifications of this decision at this time.

As for the main enemy, it is still a mystery but we will most likely not see any Covenant and Flood like in other Halos. The Forerunners are one that is possible, but most leads say they are allies and that the main enemy is a precursor that is even before the Forerunners as the allies, a new ancient evil. I’m thinking that could be true and they can use the machines on the Halo rings to fight you if so.

More rumors suggest that players will also find out a lot about why ONI is on Sigma 7 and they’re downgraded with more human-like weapons and vehicles. Armor abilities will most likely return but will the jet pack and sprint and evade be standard as shown in the trailer? Who knows, but we will find out and I will follow Halo 4 up until the release – so prepare for more in after Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition comes out November 15th.

Check out the Halo 4: Director’s Cut Trailer below if you haven’t caught it already.
