Sony’s chance to once again dominate Nintendo, or could it be Microsoft?

Market share was greatly lost this generation for Sony, as well as Microsoft, by this console-eating beast of a corporation, Nintendo. Now is their chance to expose Nintendo of their flaws and setbacks, and reclaim the throne.

Even though I still have all the faith in the world in Nintendo, without biased I have to call it like I see it. The Wii U being a lot like the PS3 and 360 may change a lot of peoples mind about purchasing it this up and coming generation. In this new era of gaming there is no doubt that the raw graphical power the PS4 and next Xbox will put out will play a big part this generation; looking at all of the magnificent games and tech demos Sony has shown at their Sony event. Nintendo could be counting on games like Mario and Zelda, and their new way of gaming with the Wii U pad. But what sold the Nintendo Wii? Was it really Mario? Looking at their previous generations Mario doesn’t seem to be all the latest hype. Nintendo had some innovative technology behind the Wii, the Wii motes, the Wii Fit board, and quite frankly, this time around, there seems to be an absence in the exciting new way of playing your games on the Wii U.

On the other hand, Sony and Microsoft have every reason to market their consoles greatly. They have new and innovative technology that seems to be more appealing to both the casual gamer and the hardcore gamer alike. Microsoft’s Kinect and Sony’s PlayStation Move along with their Eye camera hold more weight especially when they are backed by more powerful hardware. Price point will play a part in this, but also, the fact that you can buy a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 for around the same price of the Wii U; with PS3 and Xbox 360 including the PlayStation Move and Microsoft Kinect respectively.

Sony and Microsoft, make your move, but make it wisely. Nintendo are not to toy with, I’m sure they have something up their sleeve as well, and a good bank account to back it up. But that doesn’t leave them untouchable. This generation each company will have their flaws, it’s really anybody’s game.

sorry the gen already belongs to nintendo. Nothing will sell more than 3ds this gen

The original Xbox sold 24 million the Xbox 360 has now passed 76 million this gen. Simple math tell you ms tripled there marketshare, Only Sony lost marketshare this gen.

Nintendo should have sold dozens millions Wii u last Christmas, but nobody seems to care anymore, and people start to be fed up with the same Marios and Zeldas and karts.
Some fans will buy the console, but will also get a ps4 and Xbox, and are already aware of the ps4.

Everybody was expecting the Wii u to be an insane console with graphics 3 times Better than a ps4/x360, and not only it didn’t happen, but the Wii u can’t even match current quality, with most ports looking bad, compared to the other versions. And even fans, with zombiU, they will be ashamed of their console and game, when then last of us will be released: it will be and look 10 times better than the Wii u zombiu, and they know it.as months will pass, each gaming meeting will show more gameplay stuff from ps4 games, or even 720, and all the people that were on the fence, hesitating on buying a Wii u or not, their interest will decrease even more. And e3 will be like a bomb, and the Wii u will be definitely forgotten by most people.
Sure, when zeldas, monster hunters and new marios will be released, a few millions of Wii u will be sold. But its not enough to make studios develop games on it.

I honestly believe its over for Nintendo, and with the ps4/x720 coming soon, they should start developing a new console, without gimmick, a true powerful console with a classic gamepad, with hundreds of studios making games for it. But relying on the classic Mario games, it worked once, with all the moms getting a Wii form their kids, but it won’t work this time.and even Nintendo knows it.
