This past week the first two maps of the Battlefield 1 expansion “Turing Tides” has now released. Also a new operation, new weapons, and new assignments have been added as well. But let’s get into the meat of this latest expansion in the latest Battlefield title.
“Turning Tides” as of right now only has its first two maps out, as the other two are coming in early January when it releases outside of the premium pass. But the first map we have is “Achi Baba” which is a trench warfare heavy map. The gameplay here is probably what I would consider the most accurate to the World War I setting. As you find yourself constantly running through trenches, grenades flying around and landing in front of you. It’s very infantry focused, and one of the best maps in the game in my opinion. The other map “Cape Helles” is more fitting with the theme of the DLC. Featuring plenty of sea gameplay, with also a big mix of air and infantry based defense gameplay. This map I find a bit weaker, as the attackers really only utilize the sea gameplay, while defense is more on infantry and sky.
There are plenty of new weapons that honestly don’t add to much to the sandbox of Battlefield 1, especially compared to “In the Name of the Tsar.” I feel like the real potential of this expansion lies with the next two maps that are coming, so when they release I will update this review with those. But the infiltrator hero class has been added in this update. Which serves as a more stealth based hero character, which is very fitting for Battlefield 1 and has the potential to be one of my favorite new classes.
Nintendo’s new hit IP ARMS is getting it’s first new character sometime this month. Max Brass the champion of the ARMS League will be available for free for everyone to enjoy. I can’t wait to play as him, and below is a trailer detailing what to expect from Max Brass.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – The Master Trials DLC Pack 1 is now out for everyone to download as apart of the Expansion Pass. The DLC contains plenty of new armor and weapons, new map features like plotting out your course, a teleportation device, a hard mode, and the Master Trials, which is a huge challenge mode where you start out with nothing at all. We will be reviewing here at RealGamerNewz so if you are unsure stay tuned for our review! Until then have a great weekend.
Nintendo’s Japanese website now shows how much space is needed for the DLC. On Switch, The Master Trials is a 456MB download. The Wii U version oddly requires 3.7GB of free space. Possibly a clue at maybe Switch file compression being better? The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – The Master Trials launches this friday as apart of the Expansion Pass.
“It’s time to gather your friends and hit the slopes once more for three new sports releasing as a part of Steep’s Extreme Pack DLC on June 27th. ”
“Think you can maneuver through the air at breakneck speeds amongst the mountains? You’ll want to head right for the Rocket Wingsuit events and see if your reflexes are up to the challenge. Maybe you prefer a more leisurely glide across the slopes with an occasional burst of speed to vary things up? Speed Skiing will give you the opportunity to take in the sights as you swiftly glide from area to area before touching down with your skis to gain some speed and show off your skills. Finally, Base Jump will give all thrill seekers a chance to jump from the top of the mountain and enjoy a ripping ride down the cliffside before pulling your ‘chute and safely touching down.”
“The Xtreme Pack DLC is coming June 27 for standalone purchase and is included with the Gold Edition and Season Pass. New features include:
• Rocket wings
• Base jumping
• Speed gliding
• New, fresh challenges”
“It’s all fun-and-games until someone loses a Titan in the latest free DLC pack for Titanfall 2: The War Games. Pilots on the Frontier frequently use simulator pods to train, using life-like recreations of historical battles as combat scenarios. The remastered map “War Games” highlights the civilian shops, city streets, and tall buildings for window-to-window fighting from the Battle of Angel City, as well as the large, open tank garage facilities for hand-to-hand Pilot combat from the Battle of Airbase Sierra. The outskirts of the map feature a clean, VR style perfect for Titan duels, while Pilots are often found running along the bright, interconnected wallrunning routes.”
“The War Games free DLC pack also includes a free new Live Fire map “Traffic”, featuring a weathered test site where pilot positioning is pitted against mobility across two busy thoroughfares. Dense cover makes every corner a threat, with room for snipers to hide in the back fields.”
“This DLC pack also includes some key free features, including the addition of a 3rd weapon slot, the permanent addition of Titan Brawl as a game mode, and the latest Holo Pilot execution that will put your shadow boxing skills to the test”
In Respawn’s latest blog post, they talked about the addition of a third weapon slot to the game. Now being more similar to the first game, anti-titan weapons will have their own slot separate from the secondary section. Which in my opinion is a great change, and was a feature I was missing in this title. Titanfall 2 War Games comes out tomorrow for free, adding a new map, new weapons, new features.
The next Final Fantasy XV DLC Episode Prompto is confirmed to be coming out at the end of June. It’ll cost $4.99 by itself, and lets you play a prequel story as Prompto. It of course will also be apart of the game’s season pass. Hopefully this DLC is more fulfilling than the previous DLC Episode Gladio.
Hard mode will be apart of Breath of the Wild’s first DLC pack, The Master Trials. Hard mode will offer a separate save slot from the main game, so don’t worry about overwriting your save data. The Master Trials launches on June 30th for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
The final DLC for Dark Souls III is about to drop on March 28th for $14.99 by itself, or you can purchase the seasons pass for $24.99. This will mark the end of an era as this believed to be the last Dark Souls game for sometime. The Ringed City looks to be a great sendoff for a franchise that has been loved for over half a decade now. Spawning clones or games that follow a similar nature, and even a spiritual successor in the PS4 exclusive Bloodborne. The Dark Souls games have left their mark on gaming, changing it forever, and now it seems to be ending on a very high note.
