Yesterday developer Quantic Dream revealed that the remastered version of Beyond: Two Souls will be available to download for the PS4 next Tuesday. The PS4 version will feature some improvements on top of features requested by the fans.
Beyond: Two Souls PS4 improvements:
Enhanced 1080p graphics including motion blur, bloom and depth of field effects, as well as improved lighting and shadows. The game also makes use of the DualShock 4 speaker to improve immersion when playing as the Entity.
Decisions are highlighted at the end of each scene and compared with those made by other players.
You can now play the game in chronological order right from the start – a much requested feature in the PS3 version!
Increased difficulty in certain fight scene, combined with improved controls for action sequences.
Includes the “Enhanced Experiments” DLC.
Players will have another chance to experience the story of Jodie Holmes (played, excellently, by Ellen Page), a young woman who possesses supernatural powers through her psychic link to an invisible entity. Holmes’ journey is intertwined with the complex Dr. Dawkins (brought to life by the inimitable Willem Dafoe), on PS4.
The PS4 remaster of Heavy Rain has also been confirmed for a digital release on March 1, 2016. While Europe and the UK will receive a physical collection of both games — on March 2nd and 4th respectively, it looks as though NA won’t.
Check out the Beyond: Two Souls trailer. You can download the game on November 24 in North America for $29.99 and Nov 26 in Europe for €29.99/£24.99. Purchasing Beyond will allow you to download Heavy Rain on PS4 next year at a discounted price.
Earlier this summer the developer confirmed that both of its interactive action-adventure titles on PS3, would be making their way to the PlayStation 4. Heavy Rain received universal acclaim from critics and players alike when it released in 2010. Beyond: Two Souls’ (2013) however, was more divisive.

Sony is making money hand over fist with the new approach to gameplay and high fidelity graphics that Heavy Rain brings delivering a one of a kind emotional and immersive experience for gamers worldwide. In a report released today detailing a talk in Poland by Guillaume de Fondaumiere of Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream it has been revealed by Quantic Dream that Heavy Rain made Sony “over 100 million Euros” with development and marketing for the game numbering around 54 million (displaying a profit of almost double and still running) and will be seen for future generations to come as the game that has brought about the end of the war on creativity.
No longer should we look to clones, sequels, prequels, and threequels for our inspiration and our money can finally be spent on new experiences as the market slowly but surely begins to recognize the achievements being made by games like this as well as the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls for PlayStation 3 from Quantic Dream.
Quantic Dreams, the makers of the critically acclaimed PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain, and Sony Computer Entertainment, have confirmed that Beyond Two Souls will be released for Ps3 on October 8th in North America. Details on when other regions in the world will be able to get their hands on the game have yet to be announced.
In addition, Sony and Quantic Dreams also revealed some interesting casting news for the game. Actor William Dafoe (some of you may know him from the original Spider-Man film) will be joining the cast and playing the character called Nathan Dawkins. In the press release it was stated that Dafoe’s character will be “an enigmatic scientist working for a top-secret government division studying paranormal activity. His professional curiosity in Jodie, driven by personal tragedy, is a central theme in Beyond: Two Souls.” Below is an interview with William Dafoe in which he discuses his character and what it was like to be involved with the game.
Here is also an in game scene between a young Jodie and Nathan Dawkins.
Beyond:Two Souls was first revealed at E3 2012 and follows the story of Jodie Foster (played by Ellen Paige) and is traveling the world in a search for answers to what lies beyond. She will be accompanied by her ghost friend called Aidan. Stay tuned to RealGamerNewz for additional updates on Beyond:Two Souls as it unfolds.
