Bandai Namco, who makes the Arcade verisons of Mario Kart, has announced a new title. Mario Kart: Arcade GP VR. The game will be running on HTC Vive and will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show next month, along with London and other VR locations throughout the year. We don’t know if this will be some widespread release in Arcades, or even if it will touch the HTC Vive’s online platform. But it looks awesome and could be a sign of things to come.
Ron Gilbert, the creator of Thimbleweed Park made a video showing the title playing on the Nintendo Switch. Next week should be the official release date announcement of the game on consoles. So based off what we can see below, it will likely be coming sooner rather than later.
As we all know, the Nintendo 3ds is still going strong with a great lineup of titles coming it’s way. Nintendo made a sorta sizzle reel trailer for future titles hitting the platform. Games like Metroid Samus Returns, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Mario and Luigi Superstar Sage/Bowser’s Minons, and much more.
On My Nintendo.com the Nintendo Switch has sold out, in only 8 minutes. The Nintendo Switch has been constantly sold out as fast as possible, whenever it gets into stock again. Some details for Fire Emblem Warriors, and the future of Warriors styled Nintendo games have been detailed. Going into local multiplayer features, no word on online multiplayer yet. Along with how some basic leveling works, and how some of the features of the Fire Emblem franchise has made it’s way into Fire Emblem Warriors. Fire Emblem Warriors will launch on Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3ds family of systems sometime in Q3/Q4.

– Not any details on any plans for post-launch DLC
– You can level up and change classes
– You can change the character’s appearance as well
– Will be a more difficult mode where you have to think strategically or else you’ll lose characters
– A more casual mode where you will not lose characters
– Forge bonds between characters, but there is no marriage
– Shadow Dragon, Awakening and Fates are the games they’re “focusing” on for the roster
– No plans to develop Pikmin Warriors or Wave Race Warriors
Konami has went and added plenty of new content to the Nintendo Switch exclusive title, Super Bomberman R. Super Bomberman R was released back at the launch of the Nintendo Switch as a sorta reboot for the series, as it was the first Bomberman title made in over half a decade. Below is all the content that is being offered to players on the Switch.
Team Battles – Players can create their own teams to battle against other players from around the world. Once all other team colors have been wiped out, the last team standing declares victory. Set 3-team or 4-team battles, as well as 1v4 to create the ultimate challenge!
4 New Maps for Battle Mode:
o Plain Floor – A large open space in the middle of the stage creates an intense battle
o Desert Fort – Strategically maneuver between moving red tiles to win
o Classic Conveyor Belt – The well-known conveyor belt from past series is back!
o Panic Factory – Covered mostly with conveyor belts, this stage creates a chaotic battle
3 New Characters – Pyramid Head, Simon Belmont and Vic Viper join the battle, each with a special ability:
o Pyramid Head Bomber from Silent Hill: Defeat your enemies instantaneously when in contact
o Simon Belmont Bomber from Castlevania: Draw in bombs and characters from far away
o Vic Viper Bomber from Gradius: Super-fast movement
Fire Emblem had a small title card earlier this, letting us know the franchise is coming to the Nintendo Switch sometime next year. Speculation is key here to what it could be like, but I’d like to share my thoughts. We have seen recently with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the upcoming Super Mario Odyssey, embracing larger worlds, new mechanics, and heavily changing up the game, but still staying Mario and Zelda. Fire Emblem has the potential for the same thing.
Fire Emblem could go open world, let you walk through the wilds and towns of the kingdom, running into combat arenas and engaging in classic strategic gameplay. Letting you build up your fortress, but letting you walk into the buildings you built, engaging more directly with NPCs and your party members. Make the games graphics look like the cut scenes from Fire Emblem Fates except in beautiful HD with the power of the Nintendo Switch.
These are just some basic ideas on what the game could be like. I have a feeling with Nintendo’s current resonance of their titles, making Fire Emblem to a much bigger and complex title in all ways in the right direction to go in. We will see and I am sure whatever it is, will be great.
Nintendo also went and announced The Super Famicom Classic. The differences are of course the design is like The Super Famicom. The Super Famicom Classic gets up Super Castlevania IV, Super Punch-Out, Kirby’s Dream Course, and EarthBound, and replaces them with The Legend of the Mystical Ninja, known as Ganbare Goemon: Yukihime Kyūshutsu Emaki, Super Formation Soccer, Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, and Panel de Pon, known in the west as the great Tetris Attack. Of course The Super Famicom does still come with Star Fox 2. This will release on October 7th about a week after the SNES Classic comes out in the West.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nintendo’s Nintendo’s market capitalization is now at $49.8 billion (5.56 trillion yen), just ahead of Sony’s current market value of $48.6 billion (5.43 trillion yen). Sony deals in much more than Nintendo, which mainly does hardware and software. Ever since Pokemon GO came out last year Nintendo’s stock has been going up and up and up. Hitting big pockets of success when Pokemon Sun and Moon released, and when the Nintendo Switch first launched. The current stock price is 39,280 yen ($352), making for it’s highest value since 2008, which was the arguably the height of the Wii and Ds era.
Nintendo chief creative Shigeru Miyamoto stated to Eurogamer that PIKMIN 4 is almost complete. Nintendo followed up with a statement that “We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present.” In 2015 Miyomoto stated that PIKMIN 4 is “very close to completion.” Stating that “Pikmin teams are always working on the next one.” As we know Hey! PIKMIN is coming July 28th for the Nintendo 3ds, so hopefully that will hold us over in the meantime.
ARMS is the big new fighting game IP from Nintendo for their new platform the Switch. It is a massive hit in Japan selling 100,652 beating out every game on the market in Japan. Funny enough Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Breath of the Wild are number 2 and 3 on that list. ARMS has outperformed Tekken 7 despite the larger install base on the PS4 in Japan. Tekken 7 has sold 76,603, while ARMS sold over 100k in 2 days. Nintendo Switch has been a huge hit in Japan and in the world, and now their new IP ARMS is beating out well established fighting game series in Japan.
