The Four Horsewomen will Not Be Available as DLC in WWE 2K16

(From left to right, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Charolette & Sasha Banks. The 4 Horsewomen of NXT/WWE)

Earlier this week 2K Games revealed the final batch of wrestlers for WWE 2K16’s huge roster. To the dismay of many fans, the likes of Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch and NXT’s Women’s Champ Bayley didn’t make the cut.

Since Banks confirmed to a fan that she had been scanned for the game, so many quickly assumed that the four would end up being released as DLC. It turns out that will not be the case, according to a recent announcement from the developer.

Apparently they did all the could to have the four talented women included in WWE 2K16, but for “various reasons,” they could not.

“We pushed as hard as we could to include Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Bayley in WWE 2k16, but it simply did not work out for various reasons. While we are not divulging full details on WWE 2K16’s post-launch plans just yet, we can confirm that the Four Horsewomen will not be available as DLC.”

What those various reasons are, they did not specify.

“We are proud to have and built the largest WWE roster to date featuring the most Divas ever. The WWE 2K16 disc includes all of the Divas on the main roster at the time we locked it in (13 playable in total).¬†We all agree the Divas Revolution is great for business and look forward to celebrating the Divas even more in future WWE 2K titles.”

Based on the rest of this post, it appears that fans looking to play as members of the four horsewomen will have to wait until next year’s iteration.

WWE 2K16 releases on October 27 for PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Another day, another WWE 2K16 gameplay video. This time WCW Legend Sting faces off against the current WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion, Seth Rollins.

It’s great to see Seth’s old finisher — the “Curb Stomp”, is still in this year’s WWE title. Now if they could just stop calling it the “piece of mind”, that would be great.
