Tongue-in-cheek references are made in an intelligent press release by Techland today which went out to video games press explaining that the rise of 4 versus 1 multiplayer gameplay is a very interesting one that has resulted in a positive response within their fan-base. Seemingly as Evolve launches today Techland has found it appropriate to discuss the 4 versus 1 multiplayer mode in Dying Light as an entry into the genre which it and Evolve are both now essentially part of.
For their take on things, they call this asymmetric multiplayer pvp (player versus player). A new video has been put together as well to let players know just what they’re missing if they haven’t managed to try out Dying Light yet. Be sure to read our Dying Light Review as well if you missed that.
Excerpt from the Official Press Release:
“The popularity and response to Dying Light’s PvP mode has been overwhelming at the least. As more and more elite games are using this amazing mechanic, the dev team at Techland put together a quick video to showcase their take on the mode in a visual style that is their salute to the next big titles to join this special group of games.
As a bonus, the trailer features a special code which players can redeem to receive a powerful in-game weapon. The code can be redeemed at Dockets.DyingLightGame.com. Players will then receive a weapon docket that can be exchanged for a top-tier weapon at the Quartermaster within the game itself.”
