Corporate Lockdown is the new Survival Mode pack for Alien Isolation and its stars a brand new character named Ransome who is tasked to cover up the events that have occurred aboard the Sevastopol Space Station. In Survival Mode players must compete a series a challenges as quickly as the can to complete each mission. The fast the player finishes each level the higher their leader board ranking will be. New players may want to hold off on playing this DLC because it does reveal an awful lot about the games story mode as well as the areas that you will encounter later in the game.
Corporate Lockdown is very fast paced, your foes are more cunning and more aware of your presence and won’t stop until they see you devoured or killed. Players must be quick on their feet and grab gear and munitions on the fly while trying to beat the clock. In “Severance” Ransome races to get rid of some controversial company records and seal off this area of the space station. “Scorched Earth” finds our protagonist covering his own tracks as he completes his mission and in “Loose Ends” he attempts his escape off the compromised space station. These Survival Maps are not for the faint of heart and just like in the main game players must use stealth if they expect to get out alive. They only thing that is missing from this DLC is ability to change the difficulty of these mission. Players of lower skill level probably won’t make it through the first corridor and maybe frustrated if they can’t finish the mission. Veteran survivors however will love the frantic action, the variety of enemies, areas and objectives offered in this DLC that they will be take the time and brave through the challenges.
Corporate Lock Down does give the game’s environments a little more variety as these areas of the Sevastopol have different set pieces that the player will encounter that are not scene in the main story. I found myself jumping at certain points because when I came into an area during one session lights, valves and other things went off. There were also points where I thought I was safe from danger and then was properly taken out by the enemy in celebration of getting away. If players are up to the challenge by all means purchase and download Corporate Lockdown, but if you aren’t season survivor you may need to practice in the campaign and original survival missions.
Corporate Lockdown is a fantastic addition to Alien: Isolation for those who crave for more of the games frantic yet satisfying gameplay and are up for a huge challenge in Survival Mode. There will be some gamers, that may not be initial brave the storm in this DLC and will need to practice and strategize before playing because you cannot change the difficulty setting.
