For many gamers, the length of a video game is an important factor in their decision to make a purchase. Others feel that games are too short (4-6 hours) in this day and age to justify their $60 price tag, especially single-player only titles.
Fortunately for survival horror fans who are anticipating the new game from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks, their time with The Evil Within will be a lengthy one. Depending on their choice of difficulty mode and play style, players can expect it to take between 15-20 hours to finish the game. Alistar Hatch European PR Manager for publisher Bethesda Softworks tweeted out the estimate in response to fan inquires.
Saw some people asking about it – we expect The Evil Within campaign to last 15-20 hours depending on play style and difficulty mode.

Here’s hoping the game can maintain the scares for that long. The survival horror title took home award for Best PlayStation Game at Gamescom 2014 last week.
The Evil Within launches on October 14, 2014 for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
