Watch Dogs Sells 4 million Copies In One Week

Ubisoft has confirmed that Watch Dogs has sold more than 4 million copies in its first week of release. This news makes Watch Dogs the best selling new franchise launch in history. In addition, this news also confirms that Watch Dogs is the best first week sales of any Ubisoft game in the companies history, a pretty impressive feat given the current lineup of games Ubisoft currently has. The 4 million copies sold includes the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions.  The Wii U version has yet to be released and will only add to the financial success that Watch Dogs is currently enjoying.

As a minor side note, The ctOS mobile companion app which allows players to become the police and challenge people playing the actual Watch Dogs game, has been downloaded by more than one million people.

Ubisoft has pointed out in the past that if a Watch Dogs 2 were to be made that the devlopement time would be much shorter than it was for the original Watch Dogs. When factoring in these sales and overall popularity of Watch Dogs, it would not be surprising if a Watch Dogs 2 was not in Ubisoft’s plans for the near future.
