Nintendo’s recent announcement of the discontinuation of the Nintendo Wii came with a renewed interest in the old platform generated by the Wii Mini which will arrive in the United States for $99 when it releases November 17, 2013. The Wii Mini is compatible with “nearly 1400 games” according to Nintendo themselves and comes with Mario Kart Wii and a red WiiMote Plus w/ red Nunchuk. If you missed out on some of the Wii’s games and want to jump in for cheap, this could be your chance.
In other Nintendo news, an unfortunate turn of events has occurred as Nintendo shut down a popular fan-made project (FullScreenMario.com) which allowed players to experience another version of Super Mario Bros. until the 1st party rights holder had the entire thing taken down. Here’s hoping that they would consider working with the fans who undertook the project to do something official with their work, keep in mind the chances are less than one in a trillion as Ninty doesn’t have a great track record with fan-fics / indie devs.
