As the Red Cross suggests video games represent the consequences of war crimes in games, pointing out a particular concern with torture acts, Russia has now announced that they will fund the development of a video game to display a more fact-based, historically accurate, and “patriotic” (in their words) portrayal of Russian soldiers and war.
Company of Heroes 2 (our review here) was slammed in particular by the Russian government as a criminal portrayal of their people. Russia has also stated that they may consider banning games that do not display their race in a more historically considered fashion.
