Ascend: Hand of Kul (formerly Ascend: New Gods), the free-to-play third person action RPG from Toy Soldiers and Toy Soldiers: Cold War developer Signal Studios, has reached the 1 million download milestone since its worldwide open beta release this past Wednesday. This impressive bit of news comes from the President / Creative Director D.R. Albright III (@DRAlbrightIII), who also tweeted that the game “has 600k players. Huge for XBLA. Marketing? We will have to settle for word of mouth.”
Ascend: Hand of Kul sees players wage war as a Caos warrior for one of three Gods; Light, Dark or Void with the task of taking down the Titan. Peep The Path to Victory trailer that goes into more detail on the game and go give the game a download. I’m about 16 hours in so far and this game is a good bit of fun. I also haven’t had to make any purchases to help myself out of a jam, so any fears of a pay to win scheme can be put to rest. Ascend: Hand of Kul will also see a PC release soon. Though that date is TBA.
