If you try to get on Diablo III right now you will be met with server busy errors, authentication news prompts, and more. Diablo III has been put offline temporarily at the time of this post, possibly to repair recent patch fixes that have been under demand.
Doing such work the day after release can be seen as a good thing because it proves how dedicated Blizzard is to D3.
Of course this will also knock players off Diablo III completely until they can get the game back up and running, due to the ‘always-online DRM’ being used to some controversy.
Here is the official statement from Blizzard in-game on Diablo III:
We’re aware of an issue that is affecting our authentication servers, which may result in failed or slow ogin attempts. We’re currently investigating the cause and will provide updates as they’re available.”
**Note: This issue may not be affecting all players. Blizzard is pretty good though, and should have this fixed up in no time.
**Update: The game appears to be functioning properly again, yet the warning below remains in place, some users may still be experience an outage. For the rest of you, happy killing!:
