Keighley is at it again with his poll ranking viewer opinions on the major E3 2018 Press Conferences. Spoiler Alert: Microsoft did a lot better than expected, and they needed it.
Microsoft’s Xbox Boss Phil Spencer took the stage a few times but mainly focused on the games at an event in which a new generation console was said to be under research and development, five first party studios were added to the Microsoft Game Studios family, and 50 games were shown with 18 exclusives, 15 world premieres (never before seen looks into games we’ve never heard of), and Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout 76, Dying Light 2, Gears 5, Halo Infinite, Gears Pop!, Gears Tactics, Kingdom Hearts III, Devil May Cry 5, Tunic, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Session, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, NieR: Automata BECOME AS GODS Edition, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (From Software’s New IP), The Division 2, and more were all given fairly close looks.
Battlefield V also was seen to have its first story mode trailer with a deeper narrative than usual. A free game called The Adventures of Captain Spirit was announced by Dontnod Entertainment set between the events of Life Is Strange and its currently unannounced (but confirmed) sequel Life Is Strange 2. Xbox Game Pass was given a huge overhaul and we saw Playground Studios upping the ante in a major way with Forza Horizon 4 featuring open world gameplay, dynamic weather systems that change for all players at the same time, and persistent shared world online elements.
So far it’s been a full hour since the Xbox conference concluded and Geoff Keighley put up his poll. He has a wide variety of followers from the industry and fans of all kinds as well, so the results are especially interesting.
