EA Insult to Gaming Community’s Intelligence, Maxis Silent Accomplice Speaks Out

If you’ve been following the ongoing story of EA and Maxis releasing the latest SimCity title to PC and the hell that’s proverbially broken loose there-since, you should know that it’s not being confirmed by workers inside Maxis that EA never needed the game to be always-online in the first place. The excuses being used for why the “Always-Online DRM” was implemented have already been skeptically analyzed by Kotaku and others, but now this employee is stepping up from behind the wall to confirm what we all already know.

“The servers are not handling any of the computation done to simulate the city you are playing. They are still acting as servers, doing some amount of computation to route messages of various types between both players and cities. As well, they’re doing cloud storage of save games, interfacing with Origin, and all of that. But for the game itself? No, they’re not doing anything. I have no idea why they’re claiming otherwise.”  Says Maxis Employee [RPS]

Now that we are pretty much certain without reasonable doubt that EA has once again lied to the gaming community in their seemingly never-ending false advertising campaign covered by roses and chocolates, double-talk and politically correct snobbery to look down on all who oppose their rule, it’s time for Maxis to come clean publicly.

We need you to take one more look at this poll Maxis, march into EA’s offices (or boot up your laptops) and just release the truth that you really don’t need the game to be online and EA is just forcing you to do this. If this game is not made available for offline play in the single player format in the next few days you will be forever tarnishing your name and doing the opposite of “winning fans trust back” but instead forever damning yourself to our instant skepticism upon the mention of your once sacred name.

Sincerely,

Gamers and fans the world over.

What if EA Indoctrinated All Their Fans? (Mass Effect 3 Conspiracy Theory)

Recently we brought you a unique look on Mass Effect’s Synthesis ending and how it could be perceived as a New World Order future being expressed in allegory format (a.k.a. metaphorical). Further in-depth analysis came forth and we would now like to update you on more advanced theories and correlations between the game and the hidden realities of the conspiracy world. If you don’t understand any of this you may just chalk it up to an overly in-depth analysis that’s going on in the fan circles of Bioware’s controversial third Mass Effect title, but many fans say it deserves a closer look.

Talk goes on still about cut material that never made it into the game. An original ending “accidentally” leaked by Microsoft can be concluded as the root cause of the ending scenarios that let gamers down. The original ending fit and made a lot more sense according to dedicated fans of the series. This ending was ultimately removed from the game permanently and replaced. But maybe this ending was the true ending to the game and perhaps its message speaks louder than the words found by hackers who leaked the script exploiting Microsoft’s mistake of releasing a demo before it was ready for public consumption.

The original ending is known by fans as the Dark Energy ending. This ending could have been leaked and removed by Microsoft by accident, or it could have been fate that this ending was never meant to release and Bioware was actually censored by insiders in control of the executive decision making at EA and Microsoft. The Dark Energy ending explains and encompasses conspiracy theory that exists mirrored in real life. It there were a perfect target for narrow-minded censorship, this ending’s full meaning would be it.

What is the Dark Energy ending? What does it mean? The Dark Energy ending exposes the profile and capabilities of inter-dimensional beings said to exist in the universe which ultimately embody the energies that humanity refers to as “evil” or “the dark side” in both popular culture as well as morality linguistics For examples see religion, science, history or spiritual/mystical knowledge; each have their own version of this.

In Mass Effect 3’s Synthesis ending we are shown the essential indoctrination of the entire human race by a race of beings that are suddenly portrayed as equal to mankind in morality and overall worth, even though the entire trilogy sees you fighting a non-stop battle seemingly against this “evil” species. The Synthesis ending seems to represent peace between the two species, however that’s not what a realist would see at all. The Synthesis ending actually promotes the extermination of mankind. It requires their spiritual and biomatric energy to be sacrificed for a digital soul and imprisonment in the new body and society of this other species which until now was considered enemy.

The husk are even transformed in the Synthesis ending but yet they remain Husk and instead of changing just become docile as if brainwashed. This is because there’s no longer an enemy as the true human form has been successfully eliminated by the Synthesis humans were tricked into accepting. Every character in that ending is brainwashed, indoctrinated, and EA may have indoctrinated you with this ending as well.

The Illusive Man explains it all when he says “Think about it, if the reapers wanted to destroy us, they could do it ‘like that’.” Reapers want control not extermination, to use humanity as a resource (elaborate slavery). “Look at the power they give” he says as he makes Shepard shoot Anderson somehow, further alluding to the Dark Energy ending which was never seen in the game by the millions who played the trilogy. It’s like all the piece to this puzzle are still waiting for you to put them together.

Bioware will probably never admit this ending and interpretation of their game, and its possible they didn’t even mean for the game to take on these meanings. However, just as many gamers attach Final Fantasy VII’s ideals and social commentary to reality, the Mass Effect series seemingly begs us for a deeper look and engagingly insists that it has more to offer than merely an entertaining sci-fi story. There’s a real message here, epiphanies to be had, and good vs. evil is not the only theme here.

Under the guise of saving humanity from itself, political power groups seek to lure mankind into Virtual Reality existence, like a digital prison of the soul. Meanwhile, synthetics are in control of the real life physical world. In the Dark Energy ending, which was removed from the game, humanity’s true enemy was finally recognized and the tools they are using (the Reapers) were seen to make more sense and fit into the Universe better.

The inter-dimensional affliction that we face as a species to hate ourselves and each other and kill each other over pettiness often tries to expose itself in our artistic works. Video games, films, and many other medias of art express the internal struggle we all go through within our minds, hearts, and souls to figure out what is wrong and what is right. To reach the answers to our questions though, we need to let the reality of our problems reach the light and self-fortify our own selves enough to see through our weaknesses and faults. As quantum science, spirituality, and the human mind are further understood more information in these currently “offbeat” topics will come to light.

We give cheers to Bioware for coming close to mentioning mankind’s true enemy and giving their game a strong edge of realism, and we wish them an uncensored future in which they are capable of taking this concept all the way next time.

Microsoft’s Office 365 Fumble a Prelude to Xbox 720’s Market Challenges

With the recent release of Office 365 Microsoft is painting themselves as a company that has perhaps forgotten more than they have remembered over their years in the software industry. Taking a page straight out of their own book while ignoring some quite revered pages from heavy hitter Adobe, Microsoft originally locked down purchases of the new Office iteration to a single computer. This not only required users to buy multiple licenses at once (no more 2 license standard basic package) but also forced them to prove to MS they were still in warranty for the Office software should an unforeseen event like hard drive failure or virus infection occur. Microsoft is now re-evaluating their entire game plan for the product and how its licenses will work, marking this as a major false move in their efforts to shift towards an inviting and digitally distributed / cloud infrastructure to run their software platforms on.

Let me just cut it right there though. This is RealGamerNewz, and I know you are wondering when the part comes that I draw the video game industry, and more specifically the entertainment division of Microsoft, into this picture. Sony’s PlayStation 4 was recently revealed (and full specs released) and although digital cloud services such as streaming game demos and playing full titles before they are even downloaded will be included in the PlayStation 4’s online arsenal of features there is still disc-based content being released. A dual approach of physical and digital will be taken up for Sony’s next-generation console.

Never ending rumors and speculation coupled with Microsoft’s exec and PR talk for the past few years has led to the belief that it is likely we will see Xbox 720 to support Xbox 360 discs for backwards-compatibility, but that Xbox 720 games will  be digitally distributed through an enhanced version of Xbox Live. While we should be open arms to all new ideologies for the next generation of gaming, this is quite clearly a dangerous route for any company to pursue. Many are hopeful that Microsoft will not go this direction with the Xbox 720 and instead will introduce a Blu-Ray drive into their next system. The most up-to-date leaked Xbox 720 specs don’t cast any evidence in that direction, however.

If Microsoft truly does plan to go all-digital, they will have to do it right. Especially pressing is the matter of Steam entering the console wars to compete with the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 on the living room digital distribution front, and from a cushioned position. Steam already has all the kinks figured out on how gamers want their games digitally sold to them, and how they want their library maintained and accessed.

Companies like Apple, Google, and Valve have taught us that great things can come from digital distribution. Microsoft has voiced many times they believe it’s the future of media, and most companies agree somewhat. But Microsoft also needs to learn from their mistakes with these early attempts at making Windows and Office digital services rather than physical products. If the abysmal reception of Games for Windows Live to this day teaches us nothing, it should teach us that the customer comes first with digital distribution (or they won’t come at all).

Tristans Twisted World: Mass Effect 3 One year anniversary

Today is Mass Effect’s one year run and yesterday Citadel officially finished off the trilogy. But this series means so much to the fans they tried to get a new ending for it even though the answer was the extended cut which got about a fourth of fan base but the other thirds still feel off about the ending. Fans seem to basically love Citadel as it sends off the series on a good note. As we look back at Mass Effect its a game full of hard choices and emotions but in the end to some it will be another game to others a true sci-fi series as for me its one of my favorite series but its not over yet next gen Mass Effect 4 or whatever it will be called just be ready. Mass Effect and the journey of Shepard will be forever remembered in the hearts of fans and the critics who loved it.

Tristans Twisted World: Mass Effect 3 Symbolism in Characters

Now in Mass Effect, we see characters that represent things and I personally felt as if they bring out other forms of representation for each of the characters listed below.

Admiral Anderson- He represents the Paragon throughout the three games in Mass Effect and in the ending represents a father figure and  the idea of destroying the Reapers once and for all. He was portrayed as a father figure throughout whole series but the “I’m proud of you” scene really showed it.

The Illusive Man- He represents Renegade in the games he’s in since he wants to control the Reapers, harness their power, and use it push humanity to the brink of power and the apex race on the galaxy and beyond. He stands as a symbol for control of people as he thinks he is doing the right thing but in reality, is not.

Saren- He represents Renegade, as he wants to either bow down to the reapers or become a union of flesh and steel, a vision of the future. He also thinks he’s doing the right thing by becoming what he believed as being  a perfect being. Saren believed it to be a vision of what’s to come, but was wrong.

The Catalyst- A highly advanced AI that embody the collective intelligence of all Reapers represents a misguided and backwards logic. It thinks it’s acting fair and doing the right thing. While it thinks of it self as Paragon, it’s simply not, and believes to have a much deeper meaning into its character.

The Reapers- They act on what their programmed to do, but seem to have some free will. As Harbinger acted sinister and was more direct with its  intervention. Sovereign seemed to disregard all organic life seeing it as flawed while it saw Reapers as the apex of all life. Their motives are simply, to harvest all life in the galaxy as apart of a test to find the ultimate solution to bring peace….But when they say peace, I think the other thing.

Legion and the Geth- He represents a misunderstood race of machines that wanted to choose their own fate. They let the creators leave and are non hostile to organics except for the ones that were brainwashed by the Reapers to serve their needs as they saw fit. Legion can sacrifice itself to give its people true intelligence which will make the Geth a free machine race that choose to fight the Reapers. But what does he mean by free? Will the Geth really be non hostile or will they become more organic in their programming.

Leviathan- The apex race as it refers to itself. They created the Catalyst and despite what the other races saw and experienced, it betrayed them. Their stand in things is iffy, as they represent a supreme dictator type race that wants to control everyone in their thrall when needed.

Mordin- He is a scientist that worked his whole life destroying the natural order of things which would make him seem Renegade, but in reality more of a middle ground. For, he tries to set things right if he is allowed to and in doing so, saves an entire race and undoes his mistake. But what does this mean for other scientist that have made mistakes?

Commander Shepard- Is either a Paragon or Renegade or even middle ground character but that dose not change the facts that he does want to destroy the Reapers either way, but it appears to not be that simple. He seems to appear like Atlas, a hero that has the weight of the world on his shoulders and just can not seem to take it, but gives his all to win at whatever the cost unless your more Renegade and power hungry.

Tristans Twisted World: Mass Effect 3 Synthesis ending

This ending is probably the least popular among the core fan base of this game. It sees all life somehow magically changed into a new framework a new DNA where there no organics and synthetics anymore everyone is the same. It even appears to me that the galaxy seems to be brainwashed cause if Wreav is still alive even he now is a good guy. This could be because there’s no reason to fight but it should not change who you are it seems stupid to even consider that. It has been seen that synthetics and organics can be peaceful without this option. For example EDI is a Normandy computer that puts her self in a machine body but is not hostile and will obey Shepard and fight the Reapers to the death. If you manage the Geth and Quarians to be union on Rannoch which is hard to do unless you took all right steps but in this case they are working together once again and it seemed to working to me despite the logic of the Catalyst being. The future of the galaxy seems to be simply peaceful but what does peace mean to a cold AI?

Tristans Twisted World: Mass Effect 3 Control ending

In the control ending for Mass Effect 3 it has been made out to be a sorta entity type ending. As we see Shepard become some sorta new life form that takes the Catalyst place as the head master of the Reapers. Depending on your morals changes what will happen as you either become the galaxy police or watch dogs if your Paragon or middle ground. In the Renegade version the Reapers take control and Shepard becomes a dictator that rules with an iron fist that will do whatever it takes to get the job done just like a Renegade Shepard. The Reapers just become changed though all at once so it might be that they are shackled AI that represent themselves as gods.

Tristans Twisted World: Mass Effect 3 Destroy ending

Destroy is the choice that they wanted you to make but in the end there are other ideas tossed in. Shepard cant stay the course but all Machines will also be destroyed. Its risky but from a personal standpoint I set out to destroy them and thats what I was gonna do. The future is simple as they can rebuild even the Geth and EDI but will they do that is a question and why is Shepard alive on earth in the highest possible ending?

Tristans Twisted World: Mass Effect 3 Refusal Ending

Mass Effect 3 Refusal in a little bit of depth as it seems to look like the I will never fall in line with the Reapers ending even though you can destroy them. The idea is that there might be a chance you can win without the crucible being a galaxy changer but from what I have seen you always lose. No matter how much EMS or readiness you can get the Reapers just seem to be to much for the united force of an entire galaxy. The Catalyst also seems to be distressed when Shepard refuses and says “SO BE IT!” in a Reaper tone. More than likely its because it controls the Reapers so to speak as it says it guides them but there still AI just like it. The next cycle finds Liara’s time capuslue  and uses it to defeat the Reapers in a unknown way. The future of the galaxy is very unclear but it represents the chance for Bioware to start fresh with a new galactic force.

Tristans Twisted World: Some of the greatest supporting characters in video games

Before you ask no this is not a top list this is just a mention of some of the best characters I have seen in my life. It is simple really to begin with this but why wait when I go full steam.

Liara T’soni is one the best written characters I have seen in recent years as she is the ideal love interest for Commander Shepard as it fells so natural for them to be together. Her back and personal story’s are also worth a good look as she has a lot of history and a more shy story that you have to push to see. It becomes easier of the games the more you get to know her unless your with her of course.

Ghost in MW2 is simple he is just a badass that is all there is needed to be said on that matter.

Dom was the best friend of Marcus in the Gears of War series it was a very well written love story of two best friends having each others backs no matter what.

Cortana is Master Chiefs no girlfriend girlfriend but was always there for him and cared deeply about him in so many ways that it was hard to believe she was a machine.

Clementine is the idea of a girl walking around in a ruined world trying to survive with her father figure Lee. She has lost so much by the end of seasons one it will be nice to see how her character develop.

Top 5 Most Original Gaming Experiences of This Gen

Putting aside sales, review sores, and preferences pertaining to exising ideas in the gaming universe, what makes a title original? If you would love to see more original titles release, then you must support the ones that have made it this far in the first place. But first, you have to be able to recognize a truly unique title. It’s unusual nature will typically drive many gamers away due to the initial fear of what is unknown.

This is an understandable reaction and yet a foolish one because although you don’t want to spend your dollars on a wasted purchase, you will never know how good a game is until you try it for yourself. Many games that seem strange and different in annoying ways end up becoming a masterpiece. A masterpiece which you almost didn’t recognize hidden amongst the piles of sequels, prequels, and threequels we all know by heart.

(Click the game title to go to the games/developers website and find out more about the titles)

#5. Sorcery (PS Move) – Sorcery basically single handedly made the PlayStation Move a complete success, at least in terms of good hardware design being put to use. This title allows players to bring Move wielding from an akward truce between controller and game to a symbiotic relationship of gamer to experience, grinding your own herbs by hand to create potions and more.

Performing with cutting-edge technology this New IP was made possible by the vision of a new way of playing games. The title will go on to spawn a sequel in the near future, offering deeper immersion for another iteration. Well surpassing any earlier attempts at such an idea, Sorcery made its mark to stand out as the 5th most original gaming experience this generation.

#4. BlindGiRl (Xbox Live Arcade) – From humble indie roots this rose grew from concrete into the second most original gaming experience of this generation. Much as the title hints, you play as a blind girl. The title has also gone on to spawn a sequel, BlindGiRl2. The visuals in this game are what draw your attention immediately.

Amazingly the game features a sonar-like system in which sounds paint a picture to the world around you. Using an abstract and previously unseen visual display like this makes you think in new ways. It feels like you’re playing a whole new genre when you play a game like this and that’s why it’s on this list.

#3. Stacking (PlayStation Network / Xbox Live Arcade / Windows PC) – The developers of Costume Quest and Brutal Legend, Double Fine Productions, brought out Stacking as a downloadable title that was developed in the spare time of the team. While in the midst of larger corporate projects Tim Schafer’s team put together this incredibly unique gameplay concept in which players must navigate a world of russian stacking dolls.

Each stacking doll is a person in this world, however you can assume control of them by jumping inside. With so many different goals, abilities, and challenges this game turns out to be a full featured game. The title was also made available for the Windows PC earlier last year. I offer a full salute and kudos to Double Wide for this unique title.

#2. Flower (PlayStation Network) – Winner of Best Independent Game of 2009 among other awards is  the PS3 exclusive Flower. Never before has a game thrown caution to the wind in such a quite literal sense. Having a completely unique and ever-changing way that the world is expressed to you is the perfect definition of an original game.

Flower was approached as a work of art and it turned out to be one by many’s account. All games should strive to have such originality, however I particularly encourage the abstract approach. With so many over-used color palletes and asset catalogs in the game industry today it’s refreshing to find games truly starting from scratch with their designs and ideas.

Gamers of all kinds were able to enjoy the title, and it has received numerous awards for its innovations in gameplay design, which were honestly exaggerated by the backdrop of an industry severely lacking creative releases.

#1. LittleBigPlanet (PS3 + PS Vita) – A game where you can make your own games. It has been attempted before, but never quite like this. Gamers were treated to a delight with LBP when Media Molecule brought out a very powerful community network capable of hosting games for tons of players simultaneously on levels created by players, published by players, and played by players all on the PlayStation 3 console. We’ve seen everything come from the LBP universe at this point from fully functional computation devices being crafted in virtual reality to full featured games and broadway plays being produced within LBP. This game came out of nowhere and shocked the entire industry, even the haters had to recognize.

With a healthy living, breathing online community full of builders, testers, tinkerers and gamers, LittleBigPlanet has spawned three releases across the PlayStation hardware family with likely more to come. The best thing about the game is that it has virtually unlimited re-playability with thriving communities online constantly creating new levels. The originality never ends, which is why we award LittleBigPlanet the prestige of #1 Most Original Game of this Gen.

Honorable Mention: Borderlands (Multi-Platform) – although many of its concepts were already pre-existing, we would feel wrong if we didn’t mention Borderlands amongst the most original titles of this console hardware cycle. For us at RealGamerNewz, Borderlands was the first true mix of role playing and shooting seen since the original Deus Ex. Ever since the first trailer in which we were told that “FPS and RPG made a baby” it has been a never-ending adventure for millions of gamers who fell in love with Gearbox and 2K’s sexy formula. The series is alive and healthy today spawning a sequel which recently had a cumulative DLC released.

Why Black Ops 2 Is The Best Shooter Out Right Now

Black Ops VS Modern Warfare PS4 Vs Xbox 720

Since the first release of the Black Ops title it has had more success with longevity and player satisfaction. So I wanted to figure out what factors other than the zombies that are driving this title to be more popular with myself and other players. While Black Ops 2 not enjoying the highest sales figures of the Call Of Duty franchise over time Black Ops 2 always seems to pull out a shinier more polished better looking and playing game. Now I say this speaking from my personal experience as well as what many other sources on the subject .

If you have played all the COD titles like I have you can easily compare some things that stand out right out of the gate. First off the maps. The maps on BO 2 always look better with more realistic and some animated and interactive features. Even a fool with a face full of flash-bang can see that. But as I dig deeper I find that the game-play itself while not perfect seems to run way smoother and less choppy then the other titles and gets better every year while Modern Warfare seems to stay the same.

The initial complaints when the first Black Ops was released was that there were to many over powered guns the game that couldn’t be countered. I disagree one perfect example of this is the shotgun kills in Modern Warfare 3 from fifty or sixty feet away. Even with the long barrel attachment and the slug ammo I would be hard pressed to say that shot could be made on BO2. One of the first things I noticed about BO 2 with the guns was a realistic recoil system that physically changes the bullets trajectory, as well as the players aim and effective being delivered. damage. Yet some people still insist that MW3 is more balanced, than why did people start putting their Black Ops disc back in shortly after the release of MW3?

Black Ops 2 Killstreak

We all know that the attachments have a lot to do with this process but if you do a test with say a blank wall while swapping out attachments I think you will be surprised at the results when you see how much things change as you equip, and combine things. Also you will learn that some of the attachments you use may be hurting more than helping you achieve your intended goals with a certain gun.

Server issues and matchmaking, and chat, are always the worst. MW3 was terrible. Treyarch has seemed to all but eliminate these issues with the exception of hosts rage quitting due to a poor KDR session. The one thing that still needs attention in this department is the ground war mode. It is always more fun to have a good size party session going but if you go one person over the limit and you have no choice it has to be ground war due to the number of players. For some reason this mode is terrible and never plays as well as the the others. The question for me is can the engine run as good as it does with less players I am starting to think this is the reason this title is staying with the small teams and small maps.

So did the monkey business that was going on with Infinity Ward affect MW3, the answer is unequivocally yes! Then you have to ask now that the whole thing is behind them can they put out something that can stand up to Treyarch’s build? I guess time will tell but it is going to have to be some ground breaking ideology to break the mold that has been created in this COD franchise. Frankly I would be embarrassed to try to keep on polishing something somebody else has already out-shined me with twice. But I say good luck cause if they do it will benefit the players more than anyone else.

How good would these games be if they didn’t push out one a year, from two different sources, on a two year timeline. Each of the titles has a budget large enough to rival a NASA mission. Think of what could be done with double the budget, manpower and resources. I am all for the competition because with out it we would still be stuck with Modern Warfare only but with the amount of profit made over the years by the Call of Duty franchise and the amount of time we invest in their products I think we have earned and deserve way more than we are getting for our $60 bucks.

My point being, I personally get bored or just plain don’t enjoy the game for more than one prestige if that, after the campaign to the point where the disc no longer makes it to the console. Shortly after that my friends list has also abandoned it. This time around I am on the 8th prestige as well as on the verge of completing the diamond camo’s for the assault rifle class with the RPG’s already completed, while the campaign remains unfinished. I have also bought the map packs for the first time in any of these titles.

There are many questions of why things are still they way they are when it comes to this FPS shooter series. When and if it will get better, but the community seems to have more opinions, and excuses than answers and it always will.
