E3 2018: PlayStation Press Conference – Full WrapUp & Videos

An extended look at Death Stranding as well as Sony’s other first party titles was given, but not the deep dives we were promised. Instead, Sony has delivered incredible surprises after fooling everyone into a false sense of security. We thought they wouldn’t announce anything and just focus on their four main games. During the start of the show, they suffered technical difficulties which almost ruined the entire event.

However, the surprises started to make up for it and PS4 fans were given plenty of reasons to be excited for this year’s PlayStation E3 Press Conference. All in all, the show did end abruptly and had a distinct lack of flow compared to past shows. Sony needs to try harder

E3 2018: Ubisoft Press Conference – Full WrapUp & Videos

World Premieres took place, New IPs were revealed, Nintendo’s legendary Shigeru Miyamoto took stage, and we got deep dives on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Beyond Good and Evil 2, and more. Ubisoft took more of a Hollywood Movie Awards style approach with the vibe of their E3 2018 Press Conference and also gave one fan the chance to join thanks to his win in the pre-show tournaments.

One of the major themes in Ubisoft’s Press Conference was listening to what gamers had to say, and fine-tuning their business practices to be more in-line with what their audience expects of them. They brought a lot of games this year and gave ample time to showing off each one, even running 30 minutes longer than originally planned with a total run time of 1 and a half hours.

E3 2018: Square Enix Press Conference – Full WrapUp & Videos

Square Enix hosted its own pre-recorded Press Conference today for E3 2018 in which a number of games were showcased, with two brand new games revealed. They did repeat a few trailers from previous reveals, but kept it short and sweet running just 30 minutes. RGN provides a recap in this article as well as all of the footage from the event. For those who didn’t already get the memo, Kingdom Hearts III now has a release date – which was shared with us again at this show as well.

E3 2018: Devolver Digital Press Conference – Full WrapUp & Videos

The indie label best known for games like Hotline Miami, Titan Souls, and their involvement with the Serious Sam series, Devolver Digital hosts something that you could try to call a Press Conference each year at E3. In reality, these shows are more of a parody of the traditional Press Conference, but we love Devolver Digital as a publisher since their taste in games is excellent and they serve as a curator of finely tuned, fun-focused indie titles the world may have otherwise never heard about.

They’ve brought “hand-crafted games” as they call them from obscurity and helped them rise to blockbuster success at times, and at minimum they give great games a chance to be played. So here’s our recap on what happened on the Devolver Digital stage at this year’s E3 2018.

E3 2018: Xbox Press Conference – Full WrapUp & Videos

Xbox destroyed expectations, shocking us all. With everything to prove and nothing to lose, a truly spectacular show has redeemed the green giant for gamers of every kind. They have put on perhaps the best E3 showing of all time. Promising that all fifty games shown will run best on Xbox, an easy claim to make with Xbox ONE X out-powering PS4 Pro, Phil Spencer succeeded in displaying 15 world premieres and 18 exclusive games.

E3 2018: EA Games Press Conference – Full WrapUp & Videos

Andrea Rene hosted this year’s EA Games Press Conference, called EA Play, Saturday at 11 AM Pacific Time. The show was two and a half hours long and played host to new indie game reveals, Star Wars announcements, EA Sports updates, the first look at Anthem, and of course new Battlefield V information.

While many fans of EA Games will be pleased, some of the more skeptical gaming community members have had their hesitant outlook verified. Overall it was a mediocre showing with EA clearly trying to reduce the amount of time spent on their usually boring segments but presenters often being too nervous to deliver a solid presentation.

Pre-E3 2018: Twin Mirror announced by Dontnod Entertainment

Alongside a PlayStation 4 trailer comes the reveal for a brand new Dontnod Entertainment title. The makers of Life Is Strange and Vampyr bring us Twin Mirror. In 2019 players join the Basswood, West Virginia community taking control of a man who has lost his memory and is attending a funeral for his best friend.

Waking up next to a dead body after a harsh break-up with his girlfriend and blood on his shirt, Sam must get to the bottom of this. Did he kill his ex-girlfriend? Is someone setting him up? Why can’t he remember? There are deeper, and darker answers than you think.

Pre-E3 2018: Hitman 2 Announced by IO Interactive

Formerly a subsidiary of Square Enix, IO Interactive regained independence last year shortly after E3 2017 and were able to bring with them the Hitman IP which they created 18 years ago giving players the choice between a brutal rush or stealth operation for each mission. One of the main features the game promised and delivered on was excellent gun-play, the ability to disguise one’s self with costumes and props, and a variety of ways to complete the objectives each level laid out for the player.

Over the years we’ve seen many Hitman games across a few different publishers but IO Interactive has always wanted to get back to their roots while evolving the original game’s premise further. Under Square Enix, Hitman has seen some interesting titles such as Hitman: Absolution and Hitman Go.

In a new partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive publishing a title that IO Interactive has announced today, called Hitman 2, we hope to see this vision truly realized. It would seem the deal with WB Games could be a one-off, with IO Interactive praising their new independence. The game has a lot to live up to by bearing the same name as Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, the 2002 release on PC, PlayStation 2, Original Xbox, and GameCube (and my personal favorite in the series).

Avalanche Studios is working on RAGE 2 for Bethesda and is well known for being the development studio behind Just Cause which is published by Square Enix. This time around, Avalanche will publish their own game by themselves. The Apex engine from the Just Cause titles belongs to Avalanche, and will be used for the making of this game which will release in 2019.

Pre-E3 2018: Days Gone release date confirmed by Sony w/ new gameplay trailer

Days Gone is the first original project from SIE Bend (AKA Sony Bend), a development studio well known for titles like Uncharted: Golden Abyss on PlayStation Vita. The company had been working on 4 more Vita titles including an inFamous spin-off when Sony pulled the plug. This led to a great opportunity though, for Sony Bend to show off what they’ve learned over the years by developing an open world, survival sandbox game with zombies.

Days Gone has said to be similar in some ways to State of Decay but with a potentially more narrow and polished scope. The focus of a cinematic atmosphere and well refined gameplay are staples of Days Gone that players will expect to be showcased at this year’s Sony E3 in which a deep dive strategy with four major games will be in the spotlight. Meanwhile, the zombie survival horror genre presumably being taken over by The Last of Us Part Two this winter (if release date predictions come true at E3).

Pre-E3 2018: Rumor Roundup – the good, the bad, and the ugly

With E3 2018 just 8 days away, a whirlwind of rumors and leaks have surrounded the upcoming ‘super bowl’ of video games. As we come closer to the real thing, many gamers enjoy to find out what might be at the event before it happens. This can be a recipe for let-down, but as long as you don’t take these rumors and leaks too seriously, it could be fun for some people. In any event, we tried to discuss how likely each of these rumors are.

This year some leaks have led to instant confirmations by game companies who probably don’t want their fans to suffer waiting. There were still a lot of fake ones being created by fans who just wish to have their ideas come true. Perhaps some of the people who make fake rumors just want their ideas to get out there so that game companies might make them a reality next time around. Or perhaps some of them knew some real information that got delayed or changed last minute by executive decisions. Without further ado, here are the E3 2018 rumors!

Pre-E3 2018: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Revealed by Ubisoft

The next entry has been revealed for the Assassin’s Creed series. After being leaked and rumored for a day, Ubisoft has confirmed the new project set in Greece during a time period shortly after the events of Origins. We will find out more at E3 next week, but for now we are sure that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is real and even got a little sneak peak in the form of a reveal / teaser trailer debuted in full 4K graphical quality.
