E3 2018: Kingdom Hearts III release date revealed by Square Enix

Today Square Enix tempered expectations before their E3 Press Conference tomorrow at 10AM Pacific Time by revealing the release date of Kingdom Hearts III. One of the longest waits in gaming history is soon coming to an end thanks to the Unreal Engine 4 development path Square Enix has chosen for their current lineup of games. Originally announced at E3 2013, but in pre-development since as early as 2006, KH3 has undergone a number of iterations and so much money, hard work, and love has been poured into the project that it’s surreal to think fans will soon get their hands on it.

E3 2018: EA Games Press Conference – Full WrapUp & Videos

Andrea Rene hosted this year’s EA Games Press Conference, called EA Play, Saturday at 11 AM Pacific Time. The show was two and a half hours long and played host to new indie game reveals, Star Wars announcements, EA Sports updates, the first look at Anthem, and of course new Battlefield V information.

While many fans of EA Games will be pleased, some of the more skeptical gaming community members have had their hesitant outlook verified. Overall it was a mediocre showing with EA clearly trying to reduce the amount of time spent on their usually boring segments but presenters often being too nervous to deliver a solid presentation.

Pre-E3 2018: Twin Mirror announced by Dontnod Entertainment

Alongside a PlayStation 4 trailer comes the reveal for a brand new Dontnod Entertainment title. The makers of Life Is Strange and Vampyr bring us Twin Mirror. In 2019 players join the Basswood, West Virginia community taking control of a man who has lost his memory and is attending a funeral for his best friend.

Waking up next to a dead body after a harsh break-up with his girlfriend and blood on his shirt, Sam must get to the bottom of this. Did he kill his ex-girlfriend? Is someone setting him up? Why can’t he remember? There are deeper, and darker answers than you think.

Pre-E3 2018: Hitman 2 Announced by IO Interactive

Formerly a subsidiary of Square Enix, IO Interactive regained independence last year shortly after E3 2017 and were able to bring with them the Hitman IP which they created 18 years ago giving players the choice between a brutal rush or stealth operation for each mission. One of the main features the game promised and delivered on was excellent gun-play, the ability to disguise one’s self with costumes and props, and a variety of ways to complete the objectives each level laid out for the player.

Over the years we’ve seen many Hitman games across a few different publishers but IO Interactive has always wanted to get back to their roots while evolving the original game’s premise further. Under Square Enix, Hitman has seen some interesting titles such as Hitman: Absolution and Hitman Go.

In a new partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive publishing a title that IO Interactive has announced today, called Hitman 2, we hope to see this vision truly realized. It would seem the deal with WB Games could be a one-off, with IO Interactive praising their new independence. The game has a lot to live up to by bearing the same name as Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, the 2002 release on PC, PlayStation 2, Original Xbox, and GameCube (and my personal favorite in the series).

Pre-E3 2018: Generation Zero announced for 2019 by Avalanche Studios

Set in Sweden during the 1980s, a new co-op focused, open world game for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC has been given the formal announcement treatment after light reporting on it took place earlier this year. Avalanche Studios is working on RAGE 2 for Bethesda and is well known for being the development studio behind Just Cause which is published by Square Enix. This time around, Avalanche will publish their own game by themselves. The Apex engine from the Just Cause titles belongs to Avalanche, and will be used for the making of this game which will release in 2019.

Pre-E3 2018: Rumor Roundup – the good, the bad, and the ugly

With E3 2018 just 8 days away, a whirlwind of rumors and leaks have surrounded the upcoming ‘super bowl’ of video games. As we come closer to the real thing, many gamers enjoy to find out what might be at the event before it happens. This can be a recipe for let-down, but as long as you don’t take these rumors and leaks too seriously, it could be fun for some people. In any event, we tried to discuss how likely each of these rumors are.

This year some leaks have led to instant confirmations by game companies who probably don’t want their fans to suffer waiting. There were still a lot of fake ones being created by fans who just wish to have their ideas come true. Perhaps some of the people who make fake rumors just want their ideas to get out there so that game companies might make them a reality next time around. Or perhaps some of them knew some real information that got delayed or changed last minute by executive decisions. Without further ado, here are the E3 2018 rumors!

After being leaked and rumored for a day, Ubisoft has confirmed the new project set in Greece during a time period shortly after the events of Origins. Pre-E3 2018: Fallout 76 Revealed by Bethesda Game Studios

After teasing players with a 24 hour troll stream that contained a bobble-head posed in various positions, Bethesda Game Studios finally revealed a short but sweet clip exposing to the world a brand new game they’ve been working on in-house. Fallout 76 is the name of this game which takes place in Vault 76 from the lore of the Fallout universe. Not much is known about this game yet, with further details being promised by Bethesda to be shown during E3 2018 in their own showcase at 6:30 PM Pacific Time on June 10th. But the mystery has intrigued press and fans who are gleaning every bit of information and speculation possible, already painting a picture of what Fallout 76 could be.

Pre-E3 2018 Roundup: Sony’s ‘Deep Dive’ Strategy

With Xbox falling behind PlayStation in terms of exclusive games lineup and market presence, Sony has taken a different route than usual with this year’s E3 2018 showcase. The PlayStation 4 will be front and center with no new hardware being shown, and the focus being completely on four upcoming PS4 games that are exclusive and mainly being produced in a traditionally “first-party fashion”.

In this article we will discuss what to expect from Sony at this year’s E3 event and how you can watch it from home. The potential for surprises is always there, and game companies have often used misdirection in the past to catch us off guard. However, it does seem that Sony is serious about giving focus to quality over quantity with this year’s event.

It’s also important to remind readers that “in-game” or “gameplay” are heavily abused words in this industry. Just because something is said to be running “in-engine” or any other combination of such terms, it doesn’t mean that’s how the final game will actually look and perform on the console you own. It’s okay to get excited for games, but to avoid a huge letdown upon release, be sure to remember that promotional materials are often doctored up and while they do well to express the spirit of a game they aren’t able to show exactly what it’s like. False hype aside, enjoy the show!

John Marston Joins Arthur Morgan for New Red Dead Redemption 2 Story Trailer

Rockstar Games has released their third trailer for the upcoming open world game set in the wild, wild west. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to the PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360 hit title Red Dead Redemption which released in May of 2010 after stealing the show at the E3 event of that respective year. It had one of the largest wrap-around lines I’ve ever seen for a behind-closed-doors showing of a game for which not much was known at the time.

In RDR 2 players will find themselves learning a lot more about the time period before the events of Red Dead Redemption. As the trailer opens we see that the gang of outlaws which RDR’s main protagonist used to run with is on the run in a time when outlaws were becoming a thing of the past. The clip tells viewers that the game is at least partially set in 1899 when ‘the west had nearly been tamed’ and ‘the age of gunslingers and outlaws had almost passed into myth’.

Rumor: PlayStation 5 Dev Kits, Dedicated Graphics Card, and… Holograms !?!?

Recently every gaming website and YouTuber has had something to say about the rumor that Sony could launch the next-generation at the end of this year. PlayStation 5 coming in 2018? Not likely. But what truth sparked this curiosity which slowly grew out of control? Why do people think this, and what can we learn from the situation?

RealGamerNewZ 6.0 Update

A little introduction as to who we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re going. Lately the RGN team has been regrouping behind-the-scenes and prepping for this year’s big E3 2018 event taking place in Los Angeles wherein Microsoft is expected to announce a ton of Xbox news to revitalize the brand while Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro and PSVR platforms continue to grow and Nintendo keeps the flames lit with its new smash hit hybrid device the Nintendo Switch.

That being said, we are reaching a lot of new viewers who might not know what RGN is like and what types of content we’ve been creating since our inception.

  • In 2010 a group of former games journalists sick of the censorship and relationship politics of coverage in video games news media created a floating podcast across now defunct platforms including Blip TV, Examiner, and multiple HipHopGamer websites which are now sadly unavailable.
  • In 2011 we formed our own website for RealGamerNewZ and although we’ve enjoyed millions of pageviews across over eight thousand articles we are best known for being an outspoken and essentially underground gaming news, reviews, interviews, and opinions source.

Despite being often outspoken and delivering the unpopular opinions of the hardcore gamers who are often scared to speak their mind in today’s environment, we’ve also been endorsed and supported by sponsors such as Rockstar Games, SteelSeries, Microsoft, Devolver Digital, Bethesda Game Studios, Mastertronic, Activision Blizzard, Focus Home Interactive, Surprise Attack Games, Curve Digital, Ubisoft, Headup Games, Deep Silver, Paradox Interactive, Square Enix, Team 17, Koei Temo, Nkidu, Telltale Games, tinyBuild Games, NIS America, and a lot more!

So what’s next for RGN? We still work with great companies to this day, and we are planning to increase our ability to help shine light on lesser known indie games while offering Market Research on the deeper topics occurring industry-wide and of course providing our opinions alongside news coverage for AA games, AAA games, and everything in between.
