Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Adds Ciri As Playable Character

Today  CD Projekt Red the developers of The Witcher 3: Wild hunt revealed a new playable character in the game. This new character goes by the name Ciri, she is a descendant from the long lost eleven-blood lineage she is also from an ancient prophecy. Ciri is a powerful, living weapon capable of both destroying and healing in the world she lives in. In Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Geralt will be looking across the open world to find Ciri before the Wild Hunt or the Empire of Nilfgaard does. CD Projekt Red decided that by adding Ciri to the game allows there to be more narrative possibilities with her as a playable character, they have noted that she is playable but the story line is still about Geralt. Ciri have lots of great skills to unlock as players will find as they play the game she also has great sword-fighting ability as well as she is extremely fast and agile. Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be coming to PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on May 19, 2015.

Far Cry 3 Compilation Containing Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, and Blood Dragon Announced

Ubisoft announced today, to commemorate the Far Cry series’ 10th anniversary, Far Cry Compilation for PS3. Far Cry Compilation will include: Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for $39.99 on February 11th. This bundle will include all the single-player and multiplayer patches, updates, and co-op modes. There is at this time no news on whether this compilation will be available on PC or Xbox 360.

Arma 3 Single Player Campaign Will Be Released As DLC After Launch

Developer Bohemia Interactive announced that upcoming title Arma 3’s single player campaign mode will be distrubuted as 3 free DLC 1 month after the game is released. There are 12 campaign missons total so each episode beginning with “Survive” then “Adapt” and “Win” to follow will feature 4 missions. According to Bohemia interactive releasing the campaign as 3 individual DLC’s, will allow them to perfect the game. Arma 3 is set for release this september for PC.

RealGamerNewz Interviews Random: Deep Thoughts from the Artist Known as Mega Ran

What’s up everybody welcome to the revival of our RealGamerNewz Interviews section. I’m really happy to welcome back Mega Ran to the website. We first met at PAX East a few years back while he was doing a Hip Hop and Gaming Panel with K-Murdock, and since then has gone on to produce some of the most memorable and meaningful hip hop albums on the planet shattering all boundaries and constrictions typically placed on hip hop artists blessed/cursed with the “nerdcore” label.

For those of you who are wondering, what’s going on with Ran these days? And for those of you wanting to get to know him a little deeper, RealGamerNewz presents this exclusive interview straight from the horse’s mouth.

Jon: First off Random AKA MegaRan, welcome back from the road and how are you enjoying the touring? 🙂

Random: It’s great man.. I really feel like after all the years, and all the hard work, things are finally starting to roll the way I wanted them to. I am truly good right now and it feels really great. I enjoy performing more than anything, so I’m blessed to be able to play so many shows.

Jon: Where is the most unique place you’ve ever performed, if it’s possible to narrow it down to just one?

Random: Wow, there have been a few, with me being such a different breed of rap artist. Ground Kontrol in Portland was my most recent unique performance spot. It’s an arcade bar and they don’t have a stage or sound guy, so we had to put everyone and everything in the back corner and control it while playing.

Jon: We know you’re going to be at PAX Prime performing this year, have you thought about what songs you’re going to perform?

Random: Oh yeah. I’m gonna mix it up as much as possible… I have an entire set planned out, from The Call all the way up to TRAP and Nocturnal Cantata. It’s gonna be an excellent primer for the new fans as well as giving the old fans something new, as all the songs will be covered by an amazing band out of AZ, The Lo Classics.

Jon: What was it like working with Sammus on your latest project Castlevania: The Nocturnal Cantata? Has Konami and the composers/developers behind the franchise given you any feedback?

Random: I haven’t heard from Konami but I had a chance to meet Michiru Yamane (composer of Symphony of the Night) while in Tokyo and that was a surreal experience. She stated that she loved the songs and was actually a hip-hop fan, that was a fun conversation. I performed with her looking on and got the thumbs up. I look forward to making enough money to have to deal with the developers attacking me, ha!

Jon: Now that you are established as a hip hop artist delivering tracks capable of relating video game story-lines, settings, and characters into a real life experience which even non-gamers can relate to (thereby expanding audiences) have game companies approached you to do music for their games?

Random: I’ve done some music for some games, most of which have not seen the light of day. I’m ready to pursue video game soundtracking on a serious level now, after returning from Japan I got the eye of the tiger. I have friends placing music in games and have for some time, and I’m working on an instrumental project that I hope will get people excited about the option of getting my music into games.

Jon: I feel like Final Fantasy VII is a a parable for real life with its themes of Armageddon, corporate corruption, good versus evil, and of course raw human emotion. ‘Cry for the Planet’ is a dope track that you put together which brought these themes into today’s world while still upholding the FF7 concept within its aura. Do you also feel like these games, and consequently your hip hop remixes of the games’ soundtracks, are telling a story that extends to the issues of mankind as a whole, and how would you like to see transversal art like this advance humanity / hip hop?

Random: Thank you. “Cry for the Planet” was the one track that almost didn’t make the album because of it’s story-driven nature, but it was the most important by far. I found inspiration in listening to a lot of Michael Jackson, and the beautiful track “Earth Song” inspired “Cry.” It was so real that it made me feel like it had to be on the album.

Jon: Will you ever do a Final Fantasy VI album? It’s my favorite video game of all time, and I feel it has very deep metaphorical meaning from its foundation to its surface much like how Final Fantasy VII does.

Random: I love FF6, but it didn’t touch me at the time or place that 7 did, but that doesn’t mean I’d never do any tributes to it. K-Murdock and I debate all the time about which is better, and I think I might be able to admit now that FF6 IS actually a better game than FF7, but the advent of the 3-D graphics and amazing landscape made FF7 change role playing games forever. Again, I never say never, so who knows?

Jon: On the TRAP (Television & Radio Are Poison) EP you took the most popular style of beats going in the mainstream industry right now and blessed them with some very deep and meaningful lyrics. It seemed like you are trying to reverse the curse which some of the hip hop industry suffers from, particularly negativity and promotion of a generic image and lifestyle which is ultimately causing the downfall of a lot of good people in our world. What kind of impact do you want TRAP to have on people hearing it for the first time?

Random: I want TRAP to grab people’s ears and hook them in. I hear so many people say “rap sucks these days, but the beats are hot.” So I took a month or so, hit the clubs and listened to the radio and did some real research. I’m like a hip-hop scientist in that regard. I have to do tests and experiments before I get started. Upon listening I agreed. Though today’s hip-hop production style is very different, there are still producers innovating, while most of the rappers are stuck in the dark ages concept and technique-wise. So my plan was to get on beats that they’d expect to hear a Drake, 2 Chainz or Rick Ross on, and give them a little bit of medicine that tasted like candy. I was very pleased with the result, and I actually had a lot of fun!

Jon: Still speaking on TRAP, fans of your gamer raps might have not expected this from you, but what has the feedback been like for this project and what can you tell us about TRAP 2?

Random: I’ve made a lot of new fans and supporters with that project. I get people all the time who tell me that they were moved by the story in “Black Bags,” or touched by “Turn Me Down” or walk around quoting “TRAP (King’s Theme).” I really think it’s the beats that get people into it, and then the lyrics that keep them staying and coming back. What impresses me most is that people actually listen to the words and appreciate the things I’ve said. that’s really made me excited, and that’s why I want to do a part 2. I’m taking my time on this one and it’ll probably not be done until the end of the year or later, but the first single “Doubt Me” with Futuristic and Lefty is coming next week.

Jon: What is your advice to the underground hip hop artists out there right now who might feel frustrated that things aren’t taking off in their career?

Random: I can’t give any advice that won’t sound cliche, but here goes: Be yourself. don’t chase after these people, let them chase you. Get a job so you won’t have to rely on record sales to pay bills. Stay persistent and keep your focus. set small goals that you can easily attain, then late goals. Give it your all.

Jon: Having a positive mindset is something you seem to promote heavily. On TRAP it feels like you are essentially fighting fire with water by attacking negativity in hip hop and television with positive messages. Do you feel that any films and/or video games out there can sometimes have too much negativity in them as well, or do you believe that the quantum nature of their experience allows for each individual to interpret their own vibe from a game?

Random: I try to stay positive all the time, and reflect that in my music. I also try not to make grandiose political or societal statements that can be broken down, misinterpreted and used against me but I think I failed at that with the title of this project, ha.

I don’t believe that movies and games have as much stake in what goes on, as these people are paid actors. The problem with music is that these artists spend a 60 minute album saying how real they are, which makes it hard to differentiate fact from fiction. same with “Reality” TV, where they stress that these people aren’t actors, but in actuality, they create most of the drama they face in the shows for ratings. So I do believe that individuals are able to interpret and enjoy video games without being negatively impacted for the most part, more so than TV and radio, though parents should definitely monitor what their kids are consuming.

Random Deep Thoughts from the artist

Jon: What’s your favorite film of all time and do you feel it has had an impact on society?

Random: My favorite movies are “Casino,” “Dumb and Dumber,” “Full Metal Jacket” and most recently, “Silver Linings Playbook.” I think the combination of these titles is probably what shapes Random more than anything else. I love to laugh, but I also love to get down to business, and build strong relationships through team sports, education and music. So all of those together makes me who I am and affects my everyday being. I don’t know how many of these have impacted society but it’s widely accepted that Full Metal Jacket is one of the greatest movies ever made, and it’s place in history is undeniable…and if you disagree, what’s your major malfunction, numb nuts? Ha.

Jon: With all of the touring and continuous album dropping, do you still get time to game? What do you play these days and what is your most anticipated video game right now?

Random: I don’t have as much time as I’d like, but when I’m home between tours I try to beat at least one game. Right now I’m playing The Last Of Us, and really looking forward to playing the Deadpool game next.

Jon: Can you let us in on some of the thought that went into the ‘Tactics’ track on Time and Space Deluxe Edition? It’s one of those hip hop storytelling joints that leaves you craving for more, and what can I say I’m craving!

Random: Tactics is a two-fold track that simply came from me kicking around the title and some famous sneaky stealth action game stars. I came up with the line ‘Sam Fisher get the picture’ and went from there. I thought, what if there was a “Mission: Impossible” for rappers? That’s where I’d be. So it’s about me being an old fogey, a la Old Snake, say, and having to hunt existing rappers who don’t make wise decisions. there’s a twist at the end (I won’t give it away) and it almost works as a pseudo-origin story for Random, and a message that it’s never too late to go hard. It was weird to me, but I’m glad someone dug it.

Jon: Forever Famicom, which you put together with K Murdock, is an album that gamers can rock from start to finish with perfect flow. We recently heard K teasing a third DLC release. Is there anything you can tease or share with us about this project?

Random: Oh yeah! K sent me a bunch of beats and we’re looking to put the final cap on the series with a DLC3. I can’t speak on the game samples or tracks yet but you’ll get a taste this fall.

Jon: If you were a game designer, what kind of game would you want to be releasing right now?

Random: I’d go with a real life real time present day RPG, kind of like Earthbound, maybe including some aliens or zombies and time travel. It’d be awesome.

Jon: Do you view the console wars of Xbox Vs PlayStation Vs PC Vs Nintendo as constructive for the video games industry or do you think it’s holding the business back?

Random: I like competition, but I feel like there just isn’t any. There are no exclusive titles anymore, outside of Nintendo’s games, so it doesn’t matter much which system you buy these days. it just comes down to brand loyalty. So though I love competition, I don’t feel that we have any, it’s just a market of personal preference. For the console wars to really be effective, we need more companies willing to create great exclusive games and quit porting the same titles.

Jon: Would you rather play a game with bad graphics or bad gameplay?

Random: Bad graphics, all day. it’s all about the gameplay. Legend of Legaia and Xenogears come to mind… and even some people would say Final Fantasy VII. But if a game is fun, I can overlook the graphics flaws, no prob.

Jon: How often do people recognize you in public, and what’s the most interesting thing that’s happened to you when meeting a fan in past couple of years?

Random: I have some strange chance meetings with people, like in restaurants or supermarkets, that’s always interesting. Other times it’s a weird coincidence of some kind. Like, just yesterday, the company I order my shirts from sent me an email, and it was a guy saying “I just saw this order come across and I wanted to email you and say that you’re awesome! been a big fan for years! Black Materia is genius!” I’ve had that happen in comic shops, game stores or places like that.

Most times it’s not that exciting, but I’ve met fans at airports and had whole families take pics with me, I was thinking “This must be what it’s like to be Kanye West,” ha.

Jon: I also asked a couple folks what they would like to see me ask Random before putting together this interview, and here’s what the fans wanted to know:

Fan Question #1: Could you rap about DARK SOULS for me someday?

Random: No. It’s too hard. I think my disc may be broken from tossing it out of my PS3.

Fan Question #2: Do you make beats?

Random: Yes I do, I don’t release a lot of them though, last one I made was “Tactics” on Time and Space. Will be doing an instrumental project soon.

Fan Question #3: A lot of people ask you why don’t you come to “my city” and so what is it being an up-and-coming artist and not being able to travel around everywhere and can you explain to the fans why it is that you only can come to certain cities?

Random: Well we can only come to where we’re requested. and not just by a handful of fans but by a promoter and venue who is willing to take a chance on us. So I get tons of requests to play places and I’m thankful, but until a scene is built that will come out and support these types of events, promoters will think twice about wanting to pay for a show. So it’s very important for fans in small towns to email and call their local venues and request us, to the point where they have no choice but to do it!

Fan Question #4: Will you ever do a song dedicated solely to the fact that you have two names; MegaRan and Random?

Random: Actually yes, I’m working on a song addressing that very issue… possibly for DLC3 🙂

Fan Question #5: Where’s the Sega project from you and K Murdock? We’re waiting patiently. 🙂

Random: We’re undergoing some long and arduous talks with SEGA about what we can and can’t do, since we’re trying to do this one right and on the radar. So this might be a long process. But stay patient, we’re doing our best to make it happen. Thank you guys for the game suggestions! We have a huge list now. Just have to work out the logistics.

3 New Final Fantasy X HD Screenshots

Square Enix has released 3 more screenshots for their upcoming game Final Fantasy X HD. As you may or may not already know, Final Fantasy X HD is a re-release of the PS2 version. The game also comes shipped with Final Fantasy X-2 HD if you get the PS3 version. Both of these game will also be on the PS Vita, but will be sold separately. You can see in the screenshots that the character models are much smoother and just look stunning with the HD graphics.

Fact or Fiction: Obsidian Wants To Make Fallout 4, Bethesda Might Let Them

Fallout 4 Rumors Rise Up Again, New Twist

Chris Avellone from Obsidian Entertainment had an exclusive interview with the guys from gameranx about his teams upcoming game Project Eternity. In that interview they briefly talked about Fallout 4. Chris said that his team would love to develop a new Fallout game, but it’s not up to him. It’s up to Bethesda to give them the go ahead.

An unknown insider claimed that Bethesda has shown a brief trailer for Fallout 4 behind closed doors at this years E3. Also the source claims that Fallout 4 has been in development since January 2011, but only by a limited amount of people because the rest are working on other projects. These claims were denied by by Pete Hines, Bethesda’s VP.

WebHallen, a Swedish retail store has listed many unannounced games that will be on the next gen Xbox ONE and PS4 including Fallout 4. There are dozens of games on this list and with a year that they will launch in. Fallout was listed for release at 2015. This may or may not be true.

All of this is speculation and rumors about Fallout 4. Nothing has been confirmed except that Obsidian wants to make Fallout 4, but it is up to Bethesda.

PS4 Pre-Order Launch Bundles on Amazon

Amazon is now accepting pre-orders for PS4 launch bundles. You can now pre-order the PS4 with a game, and a 1 year subscription on PS Plus. For example, instead of paying $399 for a PS4 you can pay $499 for: PS4, Battlefield 4, and 1 year of PS Plus. To buy these separated, it would cost $510 so you’re only saving 10 bucks. 10 bucks isn’t a lot but if your going to buy Battlefield 4 and PS Plus anyways, you might as well get this bundle.

There are other bundles available too. You can get the exact same deal mentioned above but instead of Battlefield 4, you get Killzone Shadow Fall. Also available is a PS4 with Knack, and PS4 with Watch dogs. You can decide which bundle you prefer or maybe you would rather just wait and buy them separate, its up to you.

Mojang’s New Game “Scrolls” Launch Trailer

Mojang (creators of MineCraft) has released a trailer for their newest game Scrolls. Scrolls will hit Open Beta on June 3rd. You’ll be able to buy Scrolls for £13/€15/$20. It will be available for PC and Mac.

Top 5 ‘WTF?’ Moments in Gaming Innovation this Generation

Correct me if you feel I’m wrong, but I’ve seen so much let-down, missed opportunity, generic/vague washover, and flat-out devolution as a gamer this gaming generation that I feel the need to speak up. How many of you out there can relate to me? When you are such a big fan of a franchise, it is nearly impossible to be satisfied with the evolving progress of said franchise.

Yet generation after generation we have seen Super Mario move into 3D, we’ve seen Resident Evil move to over-the-shoulder camera angle, we’ve even seen Final Fantasy go from being all about gameplay and story, to all about cinematography and story, and we’ve seen shooters redefine the online play-space over and over… until this generation, when the standard of innovation fell off a cliff for some blockbuster names.

Here is my personal Top 5 Smallest Advances This Video Game Generation based on my own personal bias and interests as well as my reactions to events in the game industry. I don’t expect everyone to agree (especially not with all five) since we all have our own viewpoints and opinions surrounding these largely popular titles, but hear me out.

5. LittleBigPlanet 2 – Looking for love in all the wrong places, LittleBigPlanet was rejected as an Xbox 360 exclusive and found its home on the PlayStation 3 where custom network solutions and User Generated Content are championed, not shunned. After the original’s huge success, many people found themselves playing endless community levels inspired and created by everyone from 3 year old geniuses to bored adolescents spending a few minutes on something they will never complete. The true gem of LittleBigPlanet was definitely its creation system, but did they have to give up on the rest of the game?

LittleBigPlanet had Story Mode levels that were truly unmatched by their User Generated counterparts. The sequel might not be able to hold that same achievement, for better or for worse. Before the beta was even complete for LittleBigPlanet 2 we saw gamers trying to recreate Final Fantasy VII just to prove how advanced their ‘LBP2 skillz’ had become. This is truly great, but somewhere along the line LittleBigPlanet needs to re-define itself before it loses its soul to random vagueness that User Generated communities can sometimes cause.

The little sack-boy story took a good evolution but if the creation mode insists on being the most important, we are going to need to see an adult version of this game with guns and more realistic graphics. Playing with sacks all day gets old, and this sequel came very fast and very disappointing for me. Maybe it’s me, maybe I’m asking for too much in the post-Guitar Hero era. Don’t get me wrong, LittleBigPlanet 2 is an amazing game that’s probably one of the best throughout the year it released, but it could have been so much more if it wasn’t rushed out for a cash-in.

4. Final Fantasy XIII – Just like the other franchises mentioned in this post, this game strikes in my heart as a very important moment in gaming. Upon the release of Final Fantasy XIII I found myself intrigued, mystified, and very curious. The greater half of vocal majority players online and die-hard FF fans voiced their internet rage (and in some cases in person) over what is probably going to go down as the “worst Final Fantasy of all-time”. Even being worst in such a series as Final Fantasy still doesn’t mean the game is automatically horrible. I found enjoyment in it and feel like I understand the system that was put in place for the battle to shift from individual actions to over-arching strategies.

However, this game really brought to light the issues that the fan-base has with Square Enix and their new direction with the title that has been ever-distant from the original FFVI + FFVII styles that made the franchise so popular in the first place. Like with Resident Evil’s progression over time, we see increased focus on graphics, increased invasion of Action elements at the sacrifice of Adventure and Role Playing ones, and worse – a failure to respond to the fans’ needs for innovation. Just when I thought things were going to be saved, the ‘Gestalt mode’ made me cringe as I found it to be a never-ending Chinese torture session of missed opportunities for amazing gameplay design.

Final Fantasy is a game that has always pushed the envelope. It makes a point to be different every time, so asking for it to bring back some of its roots into the formula might be a little out of line. However, I do think its worth noting the similarities between the largely beloved Final Fantasy X and the largely hated Final Fantasy XIII. Both games sacrificed a lot to bring what is essentially a linear experience to the gamer world in which Final Fantasy is still well represented. It worked the first time, but maybe it’s time to learn while you are ahead and keep FF an RPG game with a more believable illusion of freedom than was presented in FFXIII.

3. Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3 Version)  This game could have been a masterpiece, especially the PlayStation 3 version which was a timed console exclusive by Epic Games (though no one would know that thanks to their $0 advertising campaign supporting that factoid). The exclusive features on the PS3 to justify this? Oh no big deal, just MOD SUPPORT, and FREE MAPS from the UT3 ‘modding’ community. This was an amazing feature to include, in fact revolutionary to an industry that now champions DLC as a way of selling every little enhancement, map, and feature that gets added to a game after release.

Why then, was it never implemented in full? Epic Games seriously dropped the ball in a way that is unforgivable this time with the failure to make the maps and mods smooth to play on and share on PS3. If you head over to UT3Mod.com right now you will still see new mods and maps being released periodically for the 2007 FPS game. However, despite Epic Games teaming up with the creator of this website which hosts maps and mods across the entire, massive UT3 Mod community, the “mod browser” offered in-game (and released a long time after the game) is a joke at best, doing almost nothing to simplify installing these mods and maps.

The pinned “2020” post of how to install maps using the PS3’s Web Browser should be a testament to how useless this feature truly is. The game also claims to “auto-download” custom material from servers running this content, however it never seems to be that simple and installing is always a must anyways. Unreal Tournament 3 should have taken the world by storm, but it was missing that ease-of-use LittleBigPlanet had when it comes to accessing User Created Content.

Those of us patient enough to actually roll with the archaic system got to see everything from UT3 snowboarding to playable characters like Cloud Strife and Marcus Fenix on the PlayStation 3. You have a lot to learn from Sony and Media Molecule on this one Epic Games. But you should have already known better having already had a successful and alive mod community. Another case of dollars over innovation, disappointing and definitely a ‘WTF?’ moment for this generation of video games.

2. Resident Evil 6 The game is still not here, so the verdict is out of course. However, from the looks of what we are being shown so far, I have to be honest – I’m a little disappointed already. With Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube came the first major re-draft of the Resident Evil series since the original trio debuted to huge popularity on the original PlayStation system. Gracefully done, RE4’s formula brought a lot of Action elements into the series which seems to have been necessary due to hardware limitations that were introduced by pushing graphics to the limit for the generation of consoles it debuted for. RE5, while a beautiful looking game, should no longer have been pushing those limits on current hardware.

Rocking a GUI nearly identical to RE4 though we saw RE5 rise to great popularity amongst a typical amount of negative fan feedback (you can’t always please everyone right?). I personally relate to people who miss the more survival-horror, exploring roots of the franchise. However, I do feel RE4 and RE5 were done very well, and thus acceptable evolutions of the series. But for Resident Evil 6 to continue making minor tweaks to this formula without re-defining the game again causes me to feel slightly robbed.

I take a jog down memory lane and realize that we are playing the same original concept that debuted on the GameCube so many years ago. At this rate it seems Capcom is never going to give us that mystical, fantasized balance between Action and Survival Horror that all true RE fans crave. Instead they want to try and bring us that same compromise but with the same UI we’ve been playing since RE4.

Many fans are okay with the small tweaks Capcom is bringing to the table with this new installment, I just pray we see a new engine and facelift to the game and aren’t doomed to keep playing RE4 re-arrangements generations into the future.

1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 To break down an exhaustive list right now about everything that innovation junkies find troublesome with the COD franchise would be redundant; that’s what google‘s for. That being said, some of the worst points that can be pointed out are the maps, the greedy DLC structure that ELITE didn’t make better as promised, the lack of acceptable bullet tracking and hit detection (that the Kill Cams prove as well as YouTube), and best of all a major lack of change while game after game was presented.

That sure was a mouthful, and if you love this franchise still then you won’t feel my pain on this and will probably see my view as that of a hater. Either way, the fans of Call of Duty are sectioned off to so many different segments. There’s COD4 killers out there still believe it or not, even as COD9 (Black Ops 2) approaches. More importantly there’s MW2 players with and without the DLC, MW3 players with and without ELITE, Black Ops players that don’t know up from down anymore, and World At War players screaming “I’m still here!”, but nobody can hear them.

How are we supposed to be interested in this as online multiplayer veterans of the gaming industry? How many times will people be willing to buy the same thing over and over again? I suppose we will have to wait and find out when some real competition surfaces, since currently no shooter is able to challenge good ole’, all American COD.

Conclusion

Love it or hate it, every game has its pros and cons. That doesn’t mean we should lie down and accept “good”, “okay”, “decent”, games that are “straight” at best and only called the best by those who are following the dollars. Most of these games are not completely garbage, and actually some of them are very high quality productions. The reason these games were chosen is because they have all given the feeling that much more could have come of this. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if every game company worked with Mod developers and Indie designers and threw all of the corporate complications out the window to go beyond the mainstream redundancy we see today.

Who Ubisoft will choose as the enemies in this tale and how they decide to tell the intricate details of the weaving of America’s foundation with the prime evil of secrecy will certainly be an industry-defining moment and a sight to see.   • There will be all sorts of wilderness in the game referred to as the Frontier. The map of the Frontier is 1.5 times bigger than the entire map of Brotherhood.
  • The world changes as time passes, so a field where a battle happened in one year may just be a series of empty encampments a few months later. The entire world will change with seasons, so the cities and the wilderness will all exist in both Summer and Winter settings.
  • You can now leap over wagons or slide under obstacles, including navigating over and around moving objects. The free running stuff also has you jumping through windows to trees and then on top of church roofs.
  • This game has the longest development cycle since AC1, and has twice the production capacity (in terms of work hours) and budget of Revelations.”
