New Adventures Coming to the Nintendo 3DS Family

unnamed (3)

As we all know, the Nintendo 3ds is still going strong with a great lineup of titles coming it’s way. Nintendo made a sorta sizzle reel trailer for future titles hitting the platform. Games like Metroid Samus Returns, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Mario and Luigi Superstar Sage/Bowser’s Minons, and much more.

3DS_FireEmblemFates_scrn01_E3_bmp_jpgcopy

Some details for Fire Emblem Warriors, and the future of Warriors styled Nintendo games have been detailed. Going into local multiplayer features, no word on online multiplayer yet. Along with how some basic leveling works, and how some of the features of the Fire Emblem franchise has made it’s way into Fire Emblem Warriors. Fire Emblem Warriors will launch on Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3ds family of systems sometime in Q3/Q4.

– Includes local co-op, which will be splitscreen
– Not any details on any plans for post-launch DLC
– You can level up and change classes
– You can change the character’s appearance as well
– Will be a more difficult mode where you have to think strategically or else you’ll lose characters
–  A more casual mode where you will not lose characters
– Forge bonds between characters, but there is no marriage
– Shadow Dragon, Awakening and Fates are the games they’re “focusing” on for the roster
– No plans to develop Pikmin Warriors or Wave Race Warriors

Nintendo’s Stock is at it’s highest since 2008

super_mario_odyssey___pauline__1up_girl_by_vicsor_s3-dbctsn9

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nintendo’s Nintendo’s market capitalization is now at $49.8 billion (5.56 trillion yen), just ahead of Sony’s current market value of $48.6 billion (5.43 trillion yen). Sony deals in much more than Nintendo, which mainly does hardware and software. Ever since Pokemon GO came out last year Nintendo’s stock has been going up and up and up. Hitting big pockets of success when Pokemon Sun and Moon released, and when the Nintendo Switch first launched. The current stock price is 39,280 yen ($352), making for it’s highest value since 2008, which was the arguably the height of the Wii and Ds era.

As we all know, Nintendo shocked the world at this past E3 when they announced Metroid Prime 4, and Metroid Samus Returns. Metroid Samus Returns is easily my most ancipated game of the year by far. Now a Collectors Edition for Europe has been revealed, featuring a key chain, art book, soundtrack, a pin, the game, and the original Metroid II The Return of Samus. No word on pricing, or if this will come to states, but stay tuned, as we will update the article if more information comes out.

Nintendo Plans on Supporting 3ds beyond 2018

H2x1_3DS_MetroidSamusReturns

Nintendo has made the statement they plan on supporting their 3ds family systems beyond 2018. This does make sense, as the install base for the 3ds is huge. Reggie states “We’re going to continue to bring new content, and that’s what’s going to keep this device vibrant and keep it going well into 2018 and beyond.” I think this is a great thing for gamers that own the system, they won’t be abandoed. With games like Metroid Samus Returns, maybe the best on 3ds is still ahead of us.

Katrielle.Layton.full.2023715

Lady Layton, the successor/spin off to the popular Professor Layton series is hitting iOS and Android on July 20th for $16.99. A 3ds version will come to the west at some point at of course $39.99 to 3ds, no word on a potential Switch version, but reports suggest that isn’t completely off the table. The mobile version will support eight different languages at launch, including English, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch and Korean, and will feature in-app purchases. I personally am excited for this, being a fan of these games since the ds days.
