Is Battlefield V Doomed?

At the hands of EA, many great game studios and franchises have been strangled to death. More than ever, the future of Battlefield is in serious jeopardy. While there is no shortage of controversy surrounding DICE’s latest entry in the well known shooter series Battlefield, EA Games has also been experiencing lower approval ratings than ever with the gaming community. Adding to the staleness of an aging genre that rarely hits its mark without issues, 2018 is a blockbuster year full of titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Fallout 76, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and staunch competition from Black Ops 4.

Tristans Twisted World: How Battlefield 4 can be good or bad

Since the trailer for this game has been showed people have either stopped talking about this game or keep up the Call of Duty versus Battlefield war. Before I go into what would make this game good or bad, I want to say what I liked about the demo and didn’t like. Watch the video to get my full feelings on the game.

Likes: The improved driving (or so it seems) as my attention since controlling vehicles such as the jet took a little time in Battlefield 3, so it makes me wonder if those areas will be improved. The enemy AI seemed to be greatly improved or maybe it was just the demo, but if there as smart as that in the game the Campaign might actually be enjoyable this time. The voice acting sounds a lot better this time around as well. That was about all I really liked out of the demo.

Dislikes: The 3K exaggeration in the game play. How game play looks exactly like Battlefield 3. Same exact weapons almost. Some unrealistic bits in the game since it claims to be realistic. DICE already announcing DLC for this game. Small glitches in the game play.

DICE has pulled many stunts in the past but if they do not change some things they have lost me completely.

Also check out my review of Battlefield 3 here.

Battlefield 2143 Being Demanded by Fans After ‘2143 Easter Egg’ Spotted in BF3 Map Pack

Fans have begun to demand a sequel to Battlefield 2142 the future-based, sci-fi shooter that brought on PC gamers love for a multiplayer experience that was, and still is to this day, unique. With the approach of Next Gen gaming thanks to the PlayStation 4, now is the perfect time for fans to speak up if they want EA to consider funding such a title. Medal of Honor has been canned as a series from EA’s publishing, in the following article DigitalBattle argues for such a game:

Are the guys at DICE just messing with us? Or perhaps they’re just throwing out bits of nostalgia at the BF2142 fans. Who happen to be some of the most die hard Battlefield fans ever. 2142 was released just a year after the groundbreaking Battlefield 2, and quickly established a major fan base of its own.

They’ve already confirmed that Battlefield 4 will be set in modern day, which is good if you’re looking to sell a lot of copies and compete with Call Of Duty. But down the line, we’d really like to get back to the future with the Battlefield series. Hopefully 2143 is something they have on the drawing board. Battlefield 4 is currently in development and scheduled for release later this year on current and next-gen platforms. And the PC of course.”, read the rest by clicking here.

Why Black Ops 2 Is The Best Shooter Out Right Now

Black Ops VS Modern Warfare PS4 Vs Xbox 720

Since the first release of the Black Ops title it has had more success with longevity and player satisfaction. So I wanted to figure out what factors other than the zombies that are driving this title to be more popular with myself and other players. While Black Ops 2 not enjoying the highest sales figures of the Call Of Duty franchise over time Black Ops 2 always seems to pull out a shinier more polished better looking and playing game. Now I say this speaking from my personal experience as well as what many other sources on the subject .

If you have played all the COD titles like I have you can easily compare some things that stand out right out of the gate. First off the maps. The maps on BO 2 always look better with more realistic and some animated and interactive features. Even a fool with a face full of flash-bang can see that. But as I dig deeper I find that the game-play itself while not perfect seems to run way smoother and less choppy then the other titles and gets better every year while Modern Warfare seems to stay the same.

The initial complaints when the first Black Ops was released was that there were to many over powered guns the game that couldn’t be countered. I disagree one perfect example of this is the shotgun kills in Modern Warfare 3 from fifty or sixty feet away. Even with the long barrel attachment and the slug ammo I would be hard pressed to say that shot could be made on BO2. One of the first things I noticed about BO 2 with the guns was a realistic recoil system that physically changes the bullets trajectory, as well as the players aim and effective being delivered. damage. Yet some people still insist that MW3 is more balanced, than why did people start putting their Black Ops disc back in shortly after the release of MW3?

Black Ops 2 Killstreak

We all know that the attachments have a lot to do with this process but if you do a test with say a blank wall while swapping out attachments I think you will be surprised at the results when you see how much things change as you equip, and combine things. Also you will learn that some of the attachments you use may be hurting more than helping you achieve your intended goals with a certain gun.

Server issues and matchmaking, and chat, are always the worst. MW3 was terrible. Treyarch has seemed to all but eliminate these issues with the exception of hosts rage quitting due to a poor KDR session. The one thing that still needs attention in this department is the ground war mode. It is always more fun to have a good size party session going but if you go one person over the limit and you have no choice it has to be ground war due to the number of players. For some reason this mode is terrible and never plays as well as the the others. The question for me is can the engine run as good as it does with less players I am starting to think this is the reason this title is staying with the small teams and small maps.

So did the monkey business that was going on with Infinity Ward affect MW3, the answer is unequivocally yes! Then you have to ask now that the whole thing is behind them can they put out something that can stand up to Treyarch’s build? I guess time will tell but it is going to have to be some ground breaking ideology to break the mold that has been created in this COD franchise. Frankly I would be embarrassed to try to keep on polishing something somebody else has already out-shined me with twice. But I say good luck cause if they do it will benefit the players more than anyone else.

How good would these games be if they didn’t push out one a year, from two different sources, on a two year timeline. Each of the titles has a budget large enough to rival a NASA mission. Think of what could be done with double the budget, manpower and resources. I am all for the competition because with out it we would still be stuck with Modern Warfare only but with the amount of profit made over the years by the Call of Duty franchise and the amount of time we invest in their products I think we have earned and deserve way more than we are getting for our $60 bucks.

My point being, I personally get bored or just plain don’t enjoy the game for more than one prestige if that, after the campaign to the point where the disc no longer makes it to the console. Shortly after that my friends list has also abandoned it. This time around I am on the 8th prestige as well as on the verge of completing the diamond camo’s for the assault rifle class with the RPG’s already completed, while the campaign remains unfinished. I have also bought the map packs for the first time in any of these titles.

There are many questions of why things are still they way they are when it comes to this FPS shooter series. When and if it will get better, but the community seems to have more opinions, and excuses than answers and it always will.

You Know You Were Thinking It Part 3! [RGN Series]

The series you love and cherish is back for another go, the one that reveals those secret thoughts in the back of every gamer’s mind. You Know You Were Thinking It – Part 3! Only on RealGamerNewz.com

1. The COD After Black Ops II – What will the zombies be like? What kinda powers will they have?

2.  What’s up with Mortal Kombat Vita’s graphics? Could we get graphics that actually take advantage of the system’s power? I know a lot of people make excuses for it stating that its a PlayStation 3 port but they could have adjusted the engine some how. If the developers of this game want to be recognized for greatness, it looks like they need to put in work.

3.  Is there anyone else who thought that the PS Vita would have a multitude of apps or games for that matter? Can you say dry spell? Hopefully the recent Final Fantasy X HD showing at last night’s PS Vita Event and upcoming Killzone: Mercenary…

…will be enough to keep gamers going for a while longer alongside Black Ops: Declassified, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation.

4. Some of the biggest games out there are Halo 4, Black Ops II, Battlefield 3, and Medal of Honor: Warfighter, but will repetitive releases doom us to just more of the same?

5. How do game companies expect to release next generation systems in the summer time while legendary anticipation has already built for upcoming current generation releases? Will the 2013 PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 release window turn out to be all hype? Only time will tell how long it takes to bring a concept into reality all over again.

Want more? Check out Part One and Part Two if you missed them.

Tristans Twisted World: Battlefield 3 Review

Frostbite 2 engine that sums this game up this game a lot. I also asked a veteran in the military if this was a realstic experince, and he said not by a long shot.

Multiplayer: The variety of big maps and team tactical combat is unmatched in this modern day FPS. You have to help your team out in a lot of ways in this game, by reviving and storming in. picking up so many options it feels real the style and the stamina while running is perfectly ligate. Knifing is definitely the most realistic kill in the game as it isn’t some stupid swing across the view, you must go up and stab your enemy. It makes you feel like a solider at some points with the recoil and aiming and destructible environment.

Co-op: The work of the two players is vital if one player goes away it is very difficult as it depends on straight up working together. The story in takes place around the campaign in areas you may have or not seen but it takes place as an alternative as you stop them from nukeing Paris at the end of it. But you must rely on each in co-op or you will fail that means talk to each other and plan ahead.

Campaign: The major area of this game for me as the main character is Sargent Blackburn you are being court marshaled but first the military wants all the info they can get out of Blackburn,so he tells his story which spans over a year in this 5 hour campaign. You fight terriost, Russians,Police, and even your own at a part of it. Most of the game you are trying to figure out what is going on in the world it all depends on the race agiasnt  time to stop nukes from hitting major points which one nuke destroys Paris and you save New York city from the second one at the end maybe it will have a sequel cause of the ending and maybe the second nuke wasn’t a threat who knows Battlefield 4 will come one day. But at the same time it fells like the story is like the improved Black Ops story

Graphics: PC the graphics are  great one the best or close up there with Crysis 2 on the PC as it looks as real as my own hand at times.PS3 the graphics seem to only reach highness on HD TV on any other its missing something.Xbox 360 you need two disc and download the HD content but its doesn’t close to the PC version. The console graphics just look flat out muddy and rushed compared to what I played on the PC.

Final Verdict: Beautiful Graphics, some of the worst teamwork multiplayer I’ve ever seen, co-op where you have to work with your partner which can either be great or terrible, the campaign as a decent story its epic just a little too many cliffhangers and ugly looking graphics on consoles. I find this game to be one of the biggest disappointments of 2011. I award Battlefield 3 a 3.5 as it fell below the Call.

Rumor: Xbox 8 Has Unreal Engine 4 and Windows 8 in its Arsenal

Mark Rein of Epic Games talked up the Unreal Engine as he announced at the DICE Summit that the soon-to-be-seen Unreal Engine 4 is “Already Running” on products he claimed could not be named at this time. Heavy speculation is pointing to the Next Generation Xbox, called the Xbox 720 by many as the name formed out of necessity and fan-base creativity. New updates on longstanding rumors point out a new potential naming scheme, Xbox 8.

This new development in combination with the notion that Windows 8 will allow gamers to play Xbox 360 (and assumedly ‘Xbox 8’) games on custom-built gaming PC’s paints a very interesting potential for Microsoft’s next-gen. Many critics of their decisions this generation have often called out for Microsoft to become a software entity in the gaming world and license out Xbox Live as a service rather than sell consoles.

This combined strategy of ‘Xbox 8’ and the universal log-in and games library for PC’s and consoles could be something similar to what we are seeing with Sony’s PS3 and Vita. Next Generation could be the generation when gamers reap the rewards from all the intense competition going on between Microsoft and Sony.

ThisIsXbox goes deeper into the details of the ‘Xbox 8’ naming scheme, and further reinforce longstanding rumors of cross-platform services from Microsoft Next Gen across console and PC. Imagine, being able to play Xbox 8 exclusives on your tricked out Windows 8 gaming rig. Even the potential of playing Xbox 360 exclusives across Windows 8 has been heavily mentioned.

Does this mean gaming is going multiplatform from both Microsoft and Sony? Does this mean that Microsoft is bringing Xbox Live to the PC and finally admitting that Games for Windows Live is loathed at best by gamers and always has been? Only time will tell.

For now, take a look at the following excerpt from a recent article at ThisIsXbox:

“Recently we reported that alpha forms of the next-generation Xbox console which could be named “XBOX 8″ – not 8 because it’s the eighth Xbox, but because it’s the eighth generation home console and heavily shares the same software as upcoming Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.

It was reported to us that the next-gen console was on display by invite only during CES 2012, running a version of Battlefield 3 in next-gen visuals – most likely to be up on par with current high-spec gaming PC’s.

Microsoft previously reported that there will be no next-gen Xbox announcement at E3 2012, but then again we also remember the amount of times they denied an Xbox 360 Slim console before that was the surprise of E3 2010!” [ThisIsXbox]

The Lost Episodes : Modern Warfare 3 VS Battlefield 3

Over here at RealGamerNewz, after the East Coast power outages we have gotten so busy with wrapping coal for all of you that we ended up stacking a great set of episodes that almost got lost to time. Thank god for flashlights, right? Here’s the first of our shows following the release of Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3.

We laid this one down shortly after MW3 dropped and we had time to play both titles. In this episode RGN co-founder Hayabusaman joins Hitman, Payback-Ironman, and BoodyBandit as Tristan shows up to drop the topic. Yep, it’s another comparison article to add to the sea of them.

Walmart Using Battlefield 3 Features To Sell Modern Warfare 3

In this image discovered by FingerSports you will see what is either a innocent mistake or Walmart take to desperate measures to move more units of Modern Warfare 3. The way we see the Call of Duty: MW3 poster directly above the Battlefield 3 banner and showcase of MW3 copies seems to be a pretty obvious mistake that couldn’t have gone unnoticed by accident, but who are we to judge. Take a look for yourself and see what you think by clicking HERE for the full image.
