Is Battlefield V Doomed?

At the hands of EA, many great game studios and franchises have been strangled to death. More than ever, the future of Battlefield is in serious jeopardy. While there is no shortage of controversy surrounding DICE’s latest entry in the well known shooter series Battlefield, EA Games has also been experiencing lower approval ratings than ever with the gaming community. Adding to the staleness of an aging genre that rarely hits its mark without issues, 2018 is a blockbuster year full of titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Fallout 76, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and staunch competition from Black Ops 4.

Battlefield 4 Isn’t Over Yet.. Final Stand was Just the tip of the Iceberg.. But are Gamers Ready??

Battlefield-4-Wallpaper

Yes the title does read correctly, EA is planning more for Battlefield 4. But what does that mean exactly? More guns, maps, camo, gadgets, paints, *gasp* KNIVES!! Well we don’t know specifically yet what all is to come. But EA has stated that Final Stand will not be the Final DLC for Battlefield 4. Now this game had a rough start I will admit. I was anxious for them to fix the servers, get the DLC out, and everything else upon launch especially fixing the Net-code. Hell I even got premium. At the start it didn’t seem worth it, Every time I got killed in 1 bullet w/o a head-shot, or every time I had to restart (A.K.A Re-Set up my classes, options, etc..)And even before they fixed it I knew I was playing a broken game as much as I denied it all, and I still played it too, but it was still broke.

maxresdefault

Many gave up on this game, and many stopped playing EA games all together which may be a bit far fetched but it had that impact, and I can kind of understand why. With technology ever increasing,  gamers and many more rely on companies to give us what we want and what is advertised, not broken Net-Code or glitchy servers. And sometimes that is what we get anyway. But it is from those high expectations from gamers that we truly see what a company is made of. It took time but EA did finally fix a lot of issues pertaining to BF4, Some issues still exist but it won’t ever be a perfect game I can tell you that right now, because where ever comes a fix for a game,  a new glitch/bug will arise to take it’s place.

But the real question is, Are gamers ready and willing to get this second batch of DLC? Or even more so, if they offer Premium, will gamers get it? Well after all gamers went through, expecting a great game and getting a bunch of Net-Code issues, I highly doubt some people will come back for the second batch and sure enough they have either already moved on to Battlefield Hard-Line or gave up entirely and went to play the new Call of Duty *Pukes* ugh, sorry, I’m umm, I’m sick. yeah I’m sick.  But either way a lot of gamers won’t be there for this second batch as much as gamers who stuck by the game will be. I know ill be ready for it. Will you? Check out funny moments from BF4 below and as they all say, see you on the battlefield.

Battlefield 5 Set For 2016 Release

10479104_10152564363356633_4693839263353977758_o

In a recent comment from EA CFO, Blake Jorgensen, at the 2014 UBS Global Technology Conference (via Gamespot), Jorgensen talked about having already seen Battlefield 5, and that it’s a “fun, new Battlefield.” While the upcoming installment in the Battlefield franchise “Battlefield Hardline” focuses on cops and robbers, Battlefield 5 is going to take us back to a more familiar military setting.

Although Battlefield 5 isn’t set to release until 2016, according to EA CEO Andrew Wilson, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. This allows more time for Battlefield 4 to continue growing and be fixed. While also giving Battlefield Hardline a chance to give gamers a fresh take on the franchise. And much like other games such as Assassin’s Creed, NBA 2K, Madden, or COD which are pushed out almost every year, EA felt that waiting until to 2016 to release Battlefield 5 would allow players to catch their breath from the fatigued franchise.

BFH_PoliceArrest

Extensive details on Battlefield 5 have yet to be released, but Dice is promising “More features. More extras. More destruction.” All of that according to an article on IGN. This all sounds like positive news as EA and Visceral games prepare for the Battlefield Hardline launch set for March. Even though Battlefield Hardline was delayed, EA is confident in it working properly day one, unlike the issues with Battlefield 4 at launch.

Many gamers may have lost hope in EA aside from some of it’s sports franchises. I for one though still believe that EA can and will continue to improve. It’s been shown with their constant dedication to fixing Battlefield 4. And with recent games such as Dragon Age dropping, I have nothing but confidence in EA. I understand that Bio Ware was involved in Dragon Age, much like Visceral was in Dead Space and is going to be in Battlefield Hardline. This just shows you gamers, that EA is going to push and work hard to bring you the best games possible!

Be on the look out for more Battlefield Hardline coverage and all things EA right here!

Rent Your Own Battlefield 4 Servers On PlayStation 4 + Xbox ONE Soon

Battlefield Private Servers - PS4 XBox ONE

EA Games and DICE have made a stumble of a launch with Battlefield 4, but at the end of the day it is still a great multiplayer game when played online with the right people. Soon, those who are unhappy with their server-mates may soon have a solution. The ability to rent your own servers will soon grace the next-gen console versions of the BF4 war games title.

EA is also noted to have been considering past concerns about private servers becoming the sole support for a BF game on console and the damage this could potentially do to the experience of the multiplayer franchise long-term. Official Servers are still being planned to support “Quick Match” mode for example, and hopefully other measures will be taken to provide a good experience for gamers who don’t end up in a clan or cool private server with their buddies in time for EA to drop support for the online multiplayer resource servers of the game.

New Patch For Battlefield 4 On PS3 And PS4 Tries To Fix Several Issues

Battlefield 4 PS3 PS4 Patch

DICE has released a patch for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 versions of Battlefield 4 that will help fix several bugs that many players have been experiencing. In the following update it fixes several problems that cause the game to crash when a user is switching or spawning into a gunner seat in a IFV/MBT, the sound has also been fixed when the sound cuts out in Team and Squad deathmatch.

The patch also decreases the rate that a kill card would display 0 health while the enemy is still alive.  DICE has also announced that players can download free Shortcut Kits as part of Player Appreciation Month which is currently the Hand Guns Shortcut Kit for everyone and the DMR Shortcut Kit for Premium Members and on February 25 through March 4th everyone will have access to the Grenade Shortcut Kit and Premium Members will also be able to pick up the Shotgun Shortcut Kit.

EA Sued By Investors In Class Action Lawsuit For False Advertising Battlefield 4, Financial Fraud, Stock Manipulation, Embezzlement

EA Lawsuit

Over the past couple of weeks RealGamerNewz has been exhaustively reviewing legal documentation from the parties Robbins Geller as well as the original investigation that was brought forward by Holzer Holzer and Fistel. Judging by documentation provided to investors as well as the press, we feel confident now to speak on our own (not just repeating what others have said) in saying that it’s exactly what it looks like. EA executives are being held responsible for crimes that they have indeed committed against the investors of their company and have also resulted in hurting the video game industry as well as fans of the Battlefield series. There’s more to it than is being currently reported by mainstream media though, as of course RealGamerNewz is always willing to speak what others will leave out.

First let’s cover the basics…

  • “Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of all purchasers of Electronic Arts common stock during the Class Period (the “Class”)”

This is the statement that reads on the EA lawsuit and begins a myriad of reasons. In common language we can describe them like this – EA execs made statements that raised the price of Electronic Arts stock which they allegedly knew to not be true and then sold their own stocks while at a record high. Here’s a small image major mainstream press has taken of the second half of court documents which are available to all (here) and break down how much money they essentially embezzled from their own company by doing this type of stock manipulation and financial fraud.

EA Sued For Fraud

Now for the stuff other sites and magazines aren’t reporting  – on top of this, EA also mentioned that with Battlefield 4 they were the most pre-ordered next-generation game which we personally found extremely doubtful even though the Battlefield series is viewed as a fan favorite – it has never been the best seller in the FPS genre. Approximately a day after making this statement though charts were released showing Call of Duty: Ghosts as the clear winner of such a title forcing us to believe that EA lied about this as well. If not lies, there must have been a twist on the truth so extreme and far-reaching that it would likely only be labelled fraud in the court of law.

The next complaint is that the game suffered too many bugs at launch causing the Delay of BF4 DLC and other projects from DICE / EA Games which will inevitably result in less money for investors (not to mention BF4 failed to meet sales expectations and pre-sale claims). We have it on good authority (from un-named sources within DICE) that EA Games refused the development firm’s plea for a next-gen Beta due to agreements and contracts with Sony and Microsoft related to launch-day sales. Beyond that, DICE has come on record in the public as saying that EA Games is to blame for issues of the game crashing. Could it be that these issues are the result of DRM being removed from the title post-haste since it became such a taboo word when Sony defamed the business practice at PS4’s reveal? We aren’t entirely sure, but DICE says EA is at fault for the bugs and that they couldn’t fix them any faster if they wanted to.

Stay tuned for more on this developing story as it becomes available to us, and don’t believe everything that you read either for or against EA in this situation since most journalists do not read all of the legal documents. This has taken us a long time but is very beneficial as we discovered a lot of not-well-known details during the Call of Duty lawsuit fiasco that happened between Activision and COD’s creators.
