Blizzard’s 6v6 MOBA-Style First Person Shooter “Overwatch” – 1080P 60FPS Gameplay Footage

Blizzard-Overwatch-Screenshot-Zenyatta-2

The Zenyatta Gameplay Preview Footage [HD 1080P/60FPS] can be found courtesy of Blizzard Entertainment and our buddies over at GamersPrey HD on YouTube (an all-in-one source for high resolution video game trailers and gameplay). Below you’ll get to see more of what press and convention go-ers have been playing iteratively as development moves forward for Overwatch. The Overwatch were tasked with preventing human extinction against an army run by an artificial intelligence. So far the response has been generally positive from hands-on gameplay of the game. Check out the footage below:

Overwatch is being published on Windows PC and Mac OS X, though it seems possible it could come to PS4 and Xbox ONE at some time. It’s all about playable characters with unique identities, skills, and weapons. It’s also set in a futuristic version of the real world. Each Hero has their own style with some prepared strategically better for certain maps than others, increased armor, provide buffs for the team, and another designed all around for offensive maneuvers. Zenyatta is the new hero character being shown off in today’s Gameplay Footage.

In Payload Game Mode a team tries to stop a bomb from going off as it travels through out the map. Then switch sides and defend its route against the other team. There’s also a Point Capture Mode in which different locations are battled after.

Originally the game had a few snags with other entities trying to take ownership of the name’s trademark itself. Those issues appear to have been resolved though, and Blizzard is expected to release the Beta for Fall 2015 pending their own official time tables. Subsequently the announcement that Destiny and Hearthstone alone are host to 50 million players (all together across both) has Activision Blizzard a strong duo continuing throughout the year, at least fiscally. Black Ops 3 is expected to release and it’s great to see Blizzard keeping their own unique style while being merged, it shows the massive respect that the creative successes of titles like World of Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, and now Hearthstone has earned them.

Rack N Ruin PS4 Review

Rack N Ruin PS4 Review RealGamerNewz Gameplay Video

Reaching into the nostalgia of Action RPG exploration and pulling out the very best game mechanics while managing to forge completely new feels at the same time arrives Rack N Ruin on the PlayStation 4 from LifeSpark Entertainment made up of former Blizzard Entertainment talent reborn in the indie world. Hit up merchants for unique spells, collect the souls of the innocent for your devilish masters, and survive onslaughts from wizards, knights, dragons, even cryptic warriors as abilities are earned and willpower is tested. Players take the role of one dark minion who must wreak havoc on well prepared armies of ‘do-gooders’, rid dungeons of the filthy ‘goodie goodies’, solve a few puzzles here and there just to get every door unlocked, leave no stone un-turned, no chest un-pillaged (that’s a word right?), and engage in dark humor laughing maniacally the whole time.

Some of the most impressive points in Rack N Ruin lie in the polish its gameplay exhibits. A bit of getting used to the controls is quickly forgotten as their well thought out placement begins to feel appreciated and great enemy design is revealed. Especially so for the boss battles, Rack N Ruin is clearly a well put together game. Multiple enemy types may be re-used here and there, but ways that players end up defeating them can change based on what kind of foe group formation attacks. For example, a large healer / knight enemy may come strong and while it requires players to run away and attack with ranged fireballs, bombs and swordplay may be called for in dealing with its reinforcements.

Character development and plot are obviously well written though not taking themselves too seriously and leaning back towards fun, light-hearted, and humorous. It’s a shame that there’s no voice acting in the game. Personally I’d rather have had semi-decent to even terrible actors / actresses reading off the script to save my eyes the trouble. However, that being said, many players don’t mind reading and in the RPG genre it’s expected to some extent. Though there are no major RPG elements to the game the many abilities, spells, and item accumulation that occurs gives it a feel that would likely be sat alongside games like Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past if it had come out back in the Super Nintendo days. This is of course a huge compliment to the game but at the same time puts massive pressure on the developer to live up to a masterpiece. I’m happy to say that Rack N Ruin doesn’t disappoint anyone looking for that dungeon raiding, open world experience with plenty of map space to chart and terrorize.

Rack N Ruin PS4 Review RealGamerNewz

Areas where Rack N Ruin could improve begin with the graphics. Don’t get me wrong, the title is beautiful and beyond what most indie titles coming out of the Unity engine in the top-down camera aspect will offer. There’s enough animations to keep players feeling a high quality experience, presentation nails the feel and vibe giving way to immersion, and for the most part high fidelity texturing techniques have been put to work. Suffice to say, the game’s visuals are so good that it’s obvious the artistry behind it could be slightly better. I hope to see more from this developer in the future and hope Rack N Ruin allows the success for more time to be given to this department, but I’m pleased with the amount of attention that has been spread instead to the areas of gameplay mechanic design, level design, and enemy design. Puzzles are not my favorite thing in a game, but these could probably use a bit more variety as well.

The soundtrack for Rack N Ruin sounds great. As players push through the game there are plenty of tracks to populate the scenery and each does its job of giving atmosphere to the moments surrounding their debut. However, more variety could have been given to when each track is played. In a game where exploring each nook and cranny are optional but major parts of the experience, it sometimes becomes annoying to hear the same track played over and over again. Understandably, this could be difficult to avoid – but has been done successfully in some games that could be argued to have influenced Rack N Ruin in the first place.

Again, these should be taken as minor points of improvement for an excellent game and are in no way indicative of anything game-breaking. With a little added complexity and re-thinking of these areas we’d love to see a sequel and greatly encourage everyone to give Rack N Ruin a buy right now if this review even remotely tingles their ‘spidey senses’ – it won’t be regretted. Take a look below at the video version of this review on our new YouTube channel complete with PS4 Gameplay Footage (No Spoilers) and Commentary.

RealGamerNewz Video Review:

Final Verdict:

Rack N Ruin does what many indie games have trouble doing in that it knows what it wants to be, it aims for a niche experience that isn’t really being represented well in the market right now, and it executes a unique vision quite well within that spectrum. Sony has done good to make sure this title arrived on the PlayStation 4 platform and is definitely a great grab from the independent development world. We hope to see continued interest from them in curating fun titles with plenty of merit even if it means sometimes rejecting games that failed to reach the remarkable quality level of Rack N Ruin. At the same time, it is worth mentioning that the title is self published by LifeSpark Entertainment and we hope to see more work emerge from this firm in the future.

Blizzard Gives Overview Dev Diary for Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void [Closed Beta]

StarCraft II - Legacy of the Void Beta - Dev Diary - RealGamerNewz

The world’s most competitive RTS isn’t done rocking yet, and with Legacy of the Void enters a whole new chapter of gameplay from the highly respected Blizzard Entertainment. Some of the new features include Archon Mode (two players controlling a single army with a single base in what will likely be one of the more engaged RTS Co-Op experience in years), more accurate units, more reward for aggressive building of multiple bases, as well as new units being added for each race. You can see those in full gameplay action below in the actual Dev Diary Video, but what is most exciting is that Blizzard has even said they are committed to listening to players on ideas for yet another Terran unit.

Blizzard also tells fans not to expect as much polish as usual in the Closed Beta, but that it’s all worthwhile since the Closed Beta will run for longer than usual and give players a chance to have more input on the development cycle than usual. Here’s a quote from the official press release for exact wording: “We will need your play-testing support, as well as the feedback about your experiences in the beta, in order to really work together on this expansion.”

As for highlights, the Lurker is back to the Zerg army in the multiplayer update that comes along as part of the Legacy of the Void expansion pack when it eventually releases as a final build. For those who are unaware, StarCraft II is a game that tells a story in three pieces. The first of course being Wings of Liberty which focused on the Terran (human) race, the second being Heart of the Swarm (our review here) revolving around the Zerg, and the third being Legacy of the Void which will mark the conclusion of this story arch which began with the first StarCraft game in 1998, but Legacy of the Void is not the end of the series / StarCraft universe as confirmed by Blizzard Entertainment.

Heroes of the Storm Beta Access w/ Founder’s Pack [HD 1080P Footage Inside!]

Heroes_Of_The_Storm_138203755237651

In case you haven’t heard, Heroes of the Storm is a game that Blizzard has been showing us at press events for some time now as well as getting players into during a gradually growing Beta which is now available for customers of the Founder’s Back released by Blizzard Entertainment on their market place and gaming community Battle.net . The feel of the game is something like Starcraft RTS elements meshed with Blizzard’s take on the MOBA genre. The gameplay thus far looks fluid, but a final build isn’t in players hands – so we’re still keeping a skeptic eye about how good that gameplay really is.

Take a look at the Gameplay Footage for yourself, with a listing of where to get the Founder’s Pack, what’s in it, and the animated trailer for it below in Full 1080P High Definition.

Heroes of the Storm Founder’s Pack Available Now at Battle.net $39.99

Blizzard Entertainment Cancels Titan, The MMO Project No One Has Ever Seen

Blizzard Entertainment

After Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition has released to a huge success and critical acclaim (including our own Review) of the game, Blizzard Entertainment has seen Destiny swoop in from partnered company Activision to take some of the spotlight away. Perhaps this had an effect on their decision in canceling an MMO project called Titan that has never actually been seen before by gamers or the press. That’s what some are hinting at.

Or are reports coming in wrong?

Has Titan just been cancelled around the time of Destiny as a coincidence? We can’t really be sure. A project that isn’t held to perfect standards will never see the light of day from a Blizzard Entertainment team anyways. Warcraft fans are not exactly thrilled of the idea for another MMO to take place either. It could simply be that Heroes of the Storm, the upcoming free-to-play MOBA from Blizzard, is taking priority and considered a much better investment.

Titan is scrapped and gone, most likely long lost forever now – but maybe it’s for the best. We have no proof the hypothetical game is even good.
