With E3 2018 just 8 days away, a whirlwind of rumors and leaks have surrounded the upcoming ‘super bowl’ of video games. As we come closer to the real thing, many gamers enjoy to find out what might be at the event before it happens. This can be a recipe for let-down, but as long as you don’t take these rumors and leaks too seriously, it could be fun for some people. In any event, we tried to discuss how likely each of these rumors are.
This year some leaks have led to instant confirmations by game companies who probably don’t want their fans to suffer waiting. There were still a lot of fake ones being created by fans who just wish to have their ideas come true. Perhaps some of the people who make fake rumors just want their ideas to get out there so that game companies might make them a reality next time around. Or perhaps some of them knew some real information that got delayed or changed last minute by executive decisions. Without further ado, here are the E3 2018 rumors!
Miyazaki, the mind behind the Souls series, has stated on his twitter that the series is done for now. ” Dark Souls series is completely done as of DS3: The Ringed City. At least for now we don’t have any future plans for it.” He went on to say “Currently working on a number of games that should be interesting. We’re not concerned about whether they resemble DS or not.” So it is clear they are putting their focus into new games, possibly a different genre of games. The rumors still exist around the potienal of Dark Souls on the Switch, and the potential Bloodborne 2 for the PlayStation 4, but these remain rumors of as of this article. In terms of the rumors surrounding the series being ported to the Switch, if we don’t see or hear anything by E3 it likely won’t happen, but Bloodborne 2 may be a different story. Only time will tell, but we will cover the story if any further developments happen in the future.

The final DLC for Dark Souls III is about to drop on March 28th for $14.99 by itself, or you can purchase the seasons pass for $24.99. This will mark the end of an era as this believed to be the last Dark Souls game for sometime. The Ringed City looks to be a great sendoff for a franchise that has been loved for over half a decade now. Spawning clones or games that follow a similar nature, and even a spiritual successor in the PS4 exclusive Bloodborne. The Dark Souls games have left their mark on gaming, changing it forever, and now it seems to be ending on a very high note.
