Konami Confirms – Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes 720P For Xbox ONE, 1080P For PlayStation 4

Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes PS4 1080P Xbone 720P

Just after comments were recently published by series creator Hideo Kojima that PS4 can render 1080P graphics at 60 frames per second without breaking a sweat, Konami has revealed that the Xbox ONE version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will run at 60 frames per second but will only feature 720P graphics resolution while the PlayStation 4 version of the game is sporting Full 1080P High Definition graphics and still maintaining the 60 frames per second refresh rate.

For those who are planning to play the game on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 consoles – the PS3 / 360 version has been confirmed to be running a 720P resolution at 30 frames per second refresh rate. This is makes the fifth Metal Gear Solid game the most recent in a string of titles that will be played with better graphics on PS4 than Xbox ONE supporting arguments that Sony PS4’s hardware setup is superior to Microsoft’s X1 architecture in terms of producing next-generation graphics advancements.

While this announcement is sure to fuel the fire of fanboy wars and tech debate, the publisher has spoken and the final game is indeed going to be running with better graphics on PlayStation 4. A Limited Edition Metal Gear Solid 5 PS4 was also announced to be launching in Japan called the FOX EDITION (as pictured below).

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will release on March 18, 2014 in North America and on March 20, 2014 in Europe.

Here is a link to Konami’s confirmation of these specs for skeptics.

Over 10,000 Signatures for Petition AGAINST GTA V PC Version

GTA V PC

You may remember that a while back I reported on a signature AGAINST Grand Theft Auto V hitting the Windows PC platform. Now that petition has grown above 10,000 and the main reason being cited here is that piratebay and websites like it will end up with cracked versions of the game causing people to steal it and have GTA V for free. Turns out there was also another petition like this which gained over 4,800 sigs; all together that’s almost 15,000 signatures.

The signatures include messages like “i hate when good games get ruined due to pirating, support the industry you love.” and “Years ago, people just want GTA IV for their pc’s… Rockstar has listen to them and make gta iv pc version… after that, their going to hate rockstar because (for them) gta iv on pc wasn’t what they expect… now they don’t deserve gta V!!!!” which refers to the complaints from PC gamers that GTA IV was “another one of those crappy console ports”.

So how do you feel? Should the game come out on PC or not?

The petition for it to come out on PC has reached over 575,000 signatures but as I outlined in yesterday’s article, I don’t think anybody should expect it until at least WELL AFTER Holiday 2013. The reasons are outlined in that article so check it out and let us know how YOU feel about this entire situation.

PlayStation 4 Specs and Release Date Confirmed Again by Official PlayStation Magazine

Today the Official PlayStation Magazine sorted out the claims from the reality when it comes to what exactly PlayStation 4 will bring to the table in terms of hardware specs and even when we can expect to get our hands on the machines ourselves. Among the data compiled OPM also mentions that Killzone: Shadow Fall is “rumored” to have run with only 1.5gb of PlayStation 4 8gb GDDR5 Memory being used, seeming to suggest far more power will come out of PlayStation 4 for years to come upon release to the market.

Beyond the features OPM mentions, we at RealGamerNewz are also excited to report that our most anticipated feature will be instant game demos (no downloading required) and in-demo purchases that will download the rest of the game for you without interrupting gameplay. If this can be pulled off gracefully then we will once and for all have an end to bad shopping experiences in digital distribution stores on gaming console devices.

Valve and Xi3 Disagree: Piston Console “Is a Steambox” and “Isn’t a Steambox” Simultaneously

After negative reaction to the price of the Xi3 Piston console recently revealed to fit the specifications of the upcoming “Steambox”. At first, reports suggested that Valve would not only be releasing their own machines (at lower prices) but would also support third-party attempts at the console/computer hybrid platform the Steam store and account library could support.

Those reports have now been called out by Valve themselves who says they have no part in the Piston console, dismissing it’s connection to the term “Steambox”. Xi3 is demanding recognition for the fact that Valve originally invested in the Piston console, and in fact are the ones who are responsible for its creation.

Valve’s response is essentially telling us that while they do experiment in upcoming technologies, and they did commission the Piston console to be developed, their own Steambox device is what they are currently focused on. They did not, however, denounce the fact that the device was built to support the Steam store and library accounts existing out there in customers “virtual wallets”.

Better take your time before deciding which Steambox is for you, seems Valve is backing out of deals with hard drive partners quicker than investors to the Phantom. We can’t say we blame Valve for wanting their own device, but they really should have cleared up the connection between Steam and the Piston console a lot sooner (or at least at all, we still aren’t sure exactly what’s going to happen as they haven’t said it won’t support Steam and instead just don’t want us calling it a ‘Steambox’ because those will cost a lot less apparently).

All eyes are on Valve now, who could deliver a large-scale entrance to the console industry if they have exclusive titles, reasonable entry price, and allow play of existing Steam library account titles already owned by their users. If they can’t meet those objectives with the Piston console, it’s only for the best that it be considered an experimental preview of what is possible with the Micro-PC / Gaming Console hybrid model.

Star Wars: Episode VII Brings Back Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford

The massive cult following of the Star Wars franchise (and all of their other varying degrees of fan support) will surely be happy to hear that today George Lucas himself has announced Star Wars: Episode VII will star Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford among others. This return to the classic crew that made audiences fall in love and blast the franchise into super-stardom in the first place should be a welcome change from recent installments. This could very well be the moment that Star Wars starts to propel itself beyond entertainment fame and into human history itself.

The Next Assassin’s Creed Has Been Revealed

Many speculations and rumors have been made about the next Assassin’s Creed title, but today those rumors have been put to rest. Ubisoft has officially unveiled the next chapter of the Assassin’s Creed story and it has been titled, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Ubisoft confirmed the news by posting the picture that is located above.

The artwork would certainly suggest that the next Assassin’s Creed game will involve and focus on pirates, which confirms the rumors that claimed this would be the case. Also worth noting is the interesting observation of how this is the first Assassin’s Creed title to have a number, as well as a subtitle. What do you guys think of the next Assassin’s Creed game? Are you excited for pirates to be introduced to the series? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to RealGamerNewz as more news about Assassin’s Creed IV unfolds!
