Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Bug Discovered For PS4 Users w/ Over 99 Friends

The 101 Trailer of Assassin Creed IV Black Flag

Ubisoft’s struck a cord of joy with making many gamers happy since Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s release. The game’s open world nature and excitement have renewed interest in a franchise that has many loyal fans but was beginning to run long in the tooth and prompt fears that it was being milked.

With the release of PS4 gamers on PSN can now have up to 2,000 friends, finally alleviating the pain of deleting inactive friends and then regretting it later when you want to see how they’re doing or game with them again.

Unfortunately players are playing right now and are unable to web sync data as well as being unable to play the ‘fleets’ content in the video game if they have over 99 friends in their PlayStation Network friends.

Ubisoft is aware of this and working on the bug, here’s to hoping they get this fixed soon.

Data: 93% of Homes in Australia Own a Dedicated Video Game Console (Since 2012)

RGN Analysis

According to a new report (the fifth one of its kind) Australia has been found to host 93% of its homes to a dedicated video game console. This statistic emerges in reaction to 2012 data which has been released showing a huge leap from 2005’s 78% ownership ratio. It’s not just younger generations embracing the digital medium either, for the first time in the country there has also been an increased active engagement seen in older demographics such as ages 30s and 40s.

There’s also an increase in discussion between literature and other forms of entertainment growing alongside the video games industry in Australia, citing a higher percentage of active and engaged minds in consuming information with a Professor at Bond University named Jeff Brand making the following statement, “this is analogous to a kind of literacy for the twentieth first century.” according to Dr. Jeff Brand.

Fox Asks “Do You Believe Video Games Cause Murder?” 98% Say No; Data Supports

FOX POLL Violence vs Video Games

The FOX News public has spoken. In response to a poll put forth by FOX, 423,556 votes have been cast. 98% of these voters have said that they do not believe video games can be to blame for mass murders. Only 1% said yes while the remaining 1% were not sure. This should be no surprise since any fair amount of logic applied tells you that underlying mental issues and bad parenting are to cause for mass homicide incidents. Violent film, books, and video games are consumed by hundreds of millions of Americans and yet the murder rate continues to go lower and lower over time according to the FBI’s publicly released records.

In fact, if you do the research the release of PlayStation 2 marked a major crime rate drop which was dropped even lower once Grand Theft Auto 3 released for the system. Both of those events can be seen correlated with the FBI’s own data in the graphs shown below. Next time somebody tries to tell you that there are studies or facts to support this absurd claim, link to them to this post so they can get some factual data on the situation.

New Data: PlayStation 3 is the Most Played Gaming Console, Global Console Sales to Decrease 19%

PS3 VS XBOX 360 SALES 2012

News has broken that Strategy Analytics are predicting the video game consoles business to drop by 19% in 2012, citing a downward trend worldwide. Strategy Analytics go on to present the PlayStation 3 as the most actively played gaming console. They also state that even Nintendo with their Wii U push will not be immune to this.

It’s possible that this data (if accurate) lead to a quicker deployment of next-gen console technology. On the other hand it could signal a shift to new formats. Check out the full press release below for even more interesting pieces of information:

“BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The global TV games console market will drop by 19 percent in 2012, according to the latest research from the Strategy Analytics Connected Home Devices service, “Global TV Games Console Outlook: a Transitional Year Awaiting a New Wave.” The report projects a decline in global Xbox 360 sales 13.8 million units in 2012; and PS3 sales will also fall, to 13 million units. Nintendo is fully focused on preparing for the upcoming Wii U release; however, even the launch of the new Wii U will not save Nintendo, or the industry, from this downward trend.

“On the other hand, Xbox 360 appeals to a broader audience, as more consumers buy the Microsoft console for non-gaming as well as gaming functions.”

Additionally, this recent Strategy Analytics ConsumerMetrix survey shows that users of Sony’s PS3 games console showed the highest level of usage frequency, topping its two major competitors. Forty-four percent of PS3 owners use their console on at least a weekly basis, in contrast to 40 percent of weekly Xbox 360 users and 30 percent of Wii users.

“Last year, Xbox 360 sales beat PS3 globally, despite its relative weakness outside the US. However, Strategy Analytics research indicates that PS3 is slightly more popular among core gamers than Xbox 360,” comments report author, Jia Wu, Director in the Strategy Analytics Connected Home Devices service. “On the other hand, Xbox 360 appeals to a broader audience, as more consumers buy the Microsoft console for non-gaming as well as gaming functions.”

“Sales figures alone do not determine winners in this generation’s console competition,” adds Kantideep Thota, Analyst at Strategy Analytics. “Wii has sold the highest number of games consoles cumulatively; but Sony’s and Microsoft’s advancement in online game distribution and cross-platform integration grants them higher user engagement and a solid foundation for the next generation console war.”
