5 Games That Would be Perfect for Photo Mode

Grand-Theft-Auto-V-Splash-Image1

With Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor joining the list of games on PS4 (The first third party game) with the popular Photo Mode feature, I’ve been thinking about other titles and how cool it would be to have it. Photo Mode isn’t for everyone, but those who enjoy toying around with it will agree that it adds another layer of fun to whatever game they are playing. The really creative players can pull off some really impressive snapshots.

PM7

One of my Shadow of Mordor snapshots

With that being said below is a list of upcoming and recently released games that would be even more fun with an added Photo Mode. I’m referring to the PlayStation 4 versions since the Xbox One doesn’t have the ability (Yet) to take screenshots. Also seeing as there is a high chance that each AAA PS4 exclusives will be including it, I didn’t bother listing Bloodborne and The Order: 1886.

Grand Theft Auto V – November 18, 2014

gta-v-stunning-screen-6

Rockstar’s latest in its ever popular open-world franchise will be making its way onto the current gen consoles next month. The option to capture whatever crazy antics players will get into when roaming the huge city of Los Santos, is too good of an opportunity to pass up. Epic vehicle stunts, insane shootouts, hooker roadkill and whatever other form of carnage you can pull off. Of course you could also take some breathtaking 1080p shots of the city and mountains and share them for the world to see.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity – November 11, 2014

assassin-s-creed-unity-5433a5b759419

Another open-world title, this time set in Paris during the French Revolution. Being able to capture protagonist Arno Dorian as he engages in combat against the Templars, performs stealth kills, shows of his sweet parkour skills while scaling large buildings and even taking that iconic leap of faith would be something fans would get carried away with. Too bad the game won’t feature naval battles.

WWE 2K15 – November 18, 2014

WWE-2K15-2K14-Graphics-Comparison-Randy-Orton-Header

Not an open-world title, but developer Yukes and 2K games upcoming wrestling game would benefit from this feature. Fans of the game series love to share their content with one another; from their created wrestlers to story lines. With Photo Mode players would become even more share crazy, capturing all kinds of insane shots the wrestlers executing their finishing moves, delivering chair shots, performing high flying moves from ladders and more.

EA Sports UFC – June 17, 2014

ea-sports-ufc-15

Another title that involves sweaty shirtless combatants, grappling and punching your opponents in the face. EA Sports UFC has been out for a few months now but it continues to receive support, including new fighters and takedown moves. So why not Photo Mode? Who wouldn’t want to be able to snap a close up picture of Bruce Lee jamming his foot into the face of Jon Bones or Rhonda Rousey dropping her opponent on their head with a suplex? Yeah, thought so.

The Evil Within – October 14, 2014

TEW

The latest survival horror game (Our Review here) from the mind of Shinji Mikami, would be another great candidate for a Photo Mode inclusion. Protagonist Sebastian Castellanos will come face to face with countless enemies in his quest to discover the truth. With PM, players would be able to capture some truly disturbing images including the many horrific deaths that will undoubtedly befall poor Sebastian.

This piece is the opinion of the author and does not represent RGN as a whole.

So do you agree? What games do you feel should include Photo Mode, or do you think it is a feature that should be forgotten. Sound off in the comments.

A Month in Statistics: Over 3 Billion Strikes Thrown in EA Sports UFC

Rhonda

It has been a little over a month now since the launch of EA Sports new UFC title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

To celebrate this, EA Sports has revealed some pretty impressive player statistics that have been tracked since the game’s release. A lot of fights have already taken place with 65,782,029 fights have been played and 3,311,120,141 strikes have been thrown. Bruce Lee leads the list of top 10 fighters played with 3.41 million and the most popular weight class to choose from is Light Heavyweight with 27% while Flyweight comes in last with 2% (Not much love for the little guys).

You can view the photo below to see what interesting statistics have been tracked. No doubt the numbers have grown since the photo’s reveal.

These EA Sports UFC Glitches are Awesome

ea-sports-ufc-glitches

Glitches, every game has them to some extent. Some more than others *cough* Skyrim, and some worse than other *cough* Battlefield 4 *cough*. While bug/glitches can result in some of the most infuriating gaming experiences out there that make you want to snap your disc in half (Looking at you Call of Duty: WaW under the map glitch), they can also provide for some pretty hilarious moments. Case in point, the recently released next-gen UFC game from EA Sports.

These glitches appear to be rather uncommon according to Youtuber Tommy Toe Hold, which is somewhat disappointing. Seriously who wouldn’t want to watch their UFC fighter fly through the air like a possessed madman?

Rashad Evans:

With outstanding wrestling and lightning quick hands, Evans has claimed victories over a murderers’ row of UFC legends including Rampage Jackson, Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson, Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin.

Alexander Gustafsson:

  • Nickname: The Mauler
  • Current Record: 15-2-0
  • From: Arboga, Sweden

One of the Light Heavyweight division’s rising stars, Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson boasts a 7-2 record since entering the UFC. With an Octagon skill set that continues to grow as quickly as his international fan base, the European fighter proved he could hang with the best when he turned in a Fight of the Night performance against division champ, Jon Jones. Poised for another big year in 2014, Gustafsson will join Jones on the first-ever cover of EA SPORTS UFC.

Jon Jones:

  • Nickname: Bones
  • Current Record: 19-1-0
  • From: Rochester, NY USA
  • Fights Out Of: Endicott, NY USA
  • Age: 26
  • Height: 6′ 4″ (193 cm)
