Party Hard is a unique serial killer simulator released in 2015 that attempts to combine dark comedy with enjoyable gameplay and gruesome, but calculated murder. The result was a huge hit with the Steam version of the game receiving very positive reviews from thousands of gamers. With a pixel art landscape, stealth objectives, and various strategies to enact in order to achieve your goals, players must take out certain members (or the entire crowd) of an ongoing party. This has to happen with the least disruption and panic as to avoid being caught by the police. Witnesses are also not good!
Tons of Easter eggs, hidden objectives, and secret interactive objects leading surprising and satisfying moments are present in the original and in the sequel. Party Hard 2 is different in a number of ways, and gradually provides more reasoning behind the events of the two games.

Dead Cells is a rogue-like Metroid-vania style game developed by the studio Motion-Twin. So this game features procedurally generated areas which is something new to the genre of Metroid-vania since it’s usually all about remembering the layout of the map, finding secrets in it, and back tracking to older areas to unlock newer areas. Dead Cells throws all of that on its head with making everything well randomized. Survive long enough and you can play it like Metroid, but die and it’s time to start over. Sure, some of the areas are pre-designed, but they are constantly randomized, so you will never know where to go next whenever a new life begins.

Flat Heroes is a port of the 2016 Steam Early Access indie PC action platformer / party game of the same name, releasing to coincide with the game leaving Early Access on August 2nd, 2018. Flat Heroes may present itself as fairly minimalistic at first; it has a lot hidden under the surface.

Outpost Zero is a multi-player survival game that is currently in early access on steam. This game has some of the same qualities as most survival games out there, but also has its own original characteristics. The basics are all here; such as base building, a character leveling system, mining, and defending your home bases from certain monsters and enemies around the map. Some of the things that make this game original were that certain monsters appear on the map for you or your friends to slay and earn certain items in-game. World events also bring interest in the game such as acid rain or meteor showers that could damage you or your base and in certain situations your armor.
The base building mechanics in the game are very fluid and easy to understand. The crafting menu doesn’t provide a lot of building types, but that is understandable for an early access version. Making bases can be unique but have a lot of the same turn-outs on bases and take a little imagination. It’s much more bearable to build more bases instead of just one massive one. Colonies are unique in their own way and involve teaming up with friends to take on the wasteland. In my opinion this is a better player experience for players of this game to focus on.
The deeper you go in this game, the harder the difficulty; such as having to slay more ferocious creatures and maneuver through rougher and rougher terrain. Some of the materials in the game appear to be in nodes with a small amount of health to each node meaning it’s usually harder to find the more rare materials, having to fight off many things to just get them. This can lead to quite the hassle at times in regard to getting materials together to build with.

Releasing for PC in a week, This Is The Police 2 receives a new trailer today. THQ Nordic presents Weappy Studio’s sequel to the 2016 indie hit title encapsulating the strategy, comedy, and tragedy of managing a fictional police squadron.
Originated from the Kickstarter community, This Is The Police has gone on to become a successful commercial release and found itself welcomed into THQ Nordic’s publishing portfolio with open arms. The controversies surrounding real life police brutality issues were a source of criticisms for a game built for fun-factor and gameplay, which is a shame and a symptom of our overly politicized industry. The sequel takes place in a small town, and as such, should be immune to such criticisms. It’s a border town called Sharpwood which should lead to entirely new situations with a variety of crimes to stop and a completely different story-line.

From Landfall Games, the team behind physics platformer Clustertruck, local multiplayer fighter / party game Square Brawl, and their currently in development combat simulation title Totally Accurate Battle Simulator comes their extremely comical take on the ever saturated battle royale genre, Totally Accurate Battlegrounds. This is a title the team at Landfall developed as a late April Fool’s joke to help bridge the gap during the development of Totally Accurate Battle Simulator and allow them some time to take a break from active development on TABS.
