Yoshida stated to GameSpot after E3 that Sucker Punch’s new game is still happening. He stated that “I have played many, many more times of such game; and every time I play … I shouldn’t be talking any more,”he said. “It is a game. They are not making movies. It is now very narrow.” That is all we know, it is good to know they are making something, but the wording here makes it sound like a new IP what do you think?

In the last console generation gamers saw a flood of games that saw a collector’s edition or limited editon when they we’re released.  There so many of games of yester-gen that got this treatment that a lot of them felt tacked on to give the developers and publishers an extra SKU and few actually stood out to the gamer at large. in this edition of Collectors Only we take a look back at the games who’s collectors edition actually stood out and gave those gamers who invested the extra money something to be proud of.

Netherrealm Studios and WB Games made magic when they released MK9 last gen and they believed in the title so much that they not only released a Kollector’s Edition with a limited edition statue but a Tournament Edition with a limited edition fight stick as well. PlayStation Games Could See Episodic Releases Soon

With the success of The Walking Dead episodic gaming experience Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida brings it to consideration that many other PlayStation titles could benefit from sometimes having episodic content. Imagine being able to download a smaller title in between large releases.

This business model seems to work great for standalone DLC coming out these days such as “Episodes from Liberty City” the Grand Theft Auto IV DLC that you can buy and play without owning the original game. Other examples include inFamous Festival of Blood and Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty.

The cheaper price-point for a smaller game is an accepted tradeoff for gamers that are waiting for the next full release from their favorite franchise or just don’t have enough cash to grab it yet. It can also serve as a great way to draw in people who ordinarily may not have chanced it with a full price game. Once they play the cheaper episodic content that can drive them to pick up the full titles.

Yoshida had this to say in interview:

“Episodic has been talked about for a long time and most people are skeptical until [they] play The Walking Dead. Now we are big fans of episodic gaming. We’re believers now,” he told Polygon.

“Hats off to [the] Telltale guys, they proved it works. I’d be happy to see some of our games adopt that model in the future.”

PlayStation 4 News: inFamous 3 (inFamous: Second Son) Introduced With Dark Political Rant

Fox of Sucker Punch took the stage at the Sony PlayStation 4 event to announce and reveal the first ever sighting of the PS4 exclusive inFamous: Second Son. This title takes the series in a new direction with a new story based in the same type of atmosphere with an increased focus on political struggle, conspiracy theory, corruption, and morality issues. Where the old inFamous hinted, the new inFamous exposes fully.

We got a taste of this new world order in the inFamous paradigm with a quite shocking and attention-demanding political rant from Fox during the PlayStation 4 event. You almost wouldn’t believe an introduction like this was for an inFamous video game, but that just speaks to the increased focus on the details of new age conspiracy theory which is happily entering the franchise lore more and more.

Take a listen and hear the political rant for yourself. PlayStation 4 is set to release in Winter of 2013. inFamous: Second Son is a product produced by Sucker Punch which will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4.

Check out the trailer that proceeded afterwards here.
