BitCoin Value Back Up Above $1K Each, Tesla Car Purchased w/ New Digital Currency

BitCoin Super Mario Image

For those unaware BitCoin is a digital currency which goes up and down in value like any other currency or stock market commodity. This morning we’ve seen BitCoins used to buy a Tesla Electric Car and the currency was back up around $1,000 per BitCoin again (and $26 higher since) quelling doubts that the currency may be facing a sort of bubble issue.

Here’s a place where interested parties can check out the current situation with BitCoin: BitCoinity Markets. If you’re an owner of the new currency, here’s one of many places where you can buy some products: BitCoin Store. Keep track of the situation by following RealGamerNewz Tech Section and have yourselves a great Holiday BitCoiners!

Rumor: Xbox ONE Has Just as Many Pre-Orders As PlayStation 4

Xbox Pre-Event Shoot

According to recent statements from PR & Marketing representatives at Microsoft, Xbox ONE is around the same amount of pre-orders when comparing only the amount of PS4’s pre-ordered within the 13 counties Xbox ONE is launching in. During the PlayStation 3 era we’ve seen a similar strategy used for many years by forum jockeys to sway the ‘fanboy wars’ in the direction of the Xbox 360.

Today Microsoft has reminded gamers worldwide that although the media and public consensus may have shifted towards Sony, the Xbox brand is not going to place itself on unequal ground for statistic comparisons and will probably not bother comparing itself to PS4 including those numbers until their  new Xbox ONE product has actually launched in those products.

On the one hand this is a pretty logical and dry statement for MS to make (how would you compare points in a video game between somebody that’s not on your server and you, after all?). Of course there are some who have been reacting to this news a little differently, suggesting that Microsoft is just doing damage control with their PR speech.

The controversy doesn’t end there either. New data from Australia’s commercial sector shows the average consumer aiming for either a Nintendo Wii U, an Xbox ONE, or a Sony PlayStation 4 are significantly slanted towards the PlayStation 4. In many ways this argument of who has the higher pre-orders is a topic for shareholders and investors, not one for gamers. We encourage all gamers to play what they like regardless of how something is doing in the market. Take a look at a graph representing the data that’s being reported on below, as well as a source to more information behind it.

Publisher of Creature Tavern and Bluff Wars 2.0 to Offer Real World Rewards

Creature Tavern

Tired of getting ‘coins’, ‘tokens’, and ‘points’ as rewards for social games? Wouldn’t you rather get real world items/services instead for playing games that you already enjoy? The publisher behind social hits Creature Tavern and Bluff Wars 2.0 which have helped them to reach over $650 million last fiscal quarter will soon release a new series of games that offer exactly that. Exactly what these real world items and services include has yet to be detailed today, however OBJE’s CEO Paul Watson said this about the strategic change in mobile landscape which he and his company are pursuing:

“Essentially, we are giving gamers the option to redeem a product or service for their time spent and a return for the information we use for marketing purposes,”

Valve and Xi3 Disagree: Piston Console “Is a Steambox” and “Isn’t a Steambox” Simultaneously

After negative reaction to the price of the Xi3 Piston console recently revealed to fit the specifications of the upcoming “Steambox”. At first, reports suggested that Valve would not only be releasing their own machines (at lower prices) but would also support third-party attempts at the console/computer hybrid platform the Steam store and account library could support.

Those reports have now been called out by Valve themselves who says they have no part in the Piston console, dismissing it’s connection to the term “Steambox”. Xi3 is demanding recognition for the fact that Valve originally invested in the Piston console, and in fact are the ones who are responsible for its creation.

Valve’s response is essentially telling us that while they do experiment in upcoming technologies, and they did commission the Piston console to be developed, their own Steambox device is what they are currently focused on. They did not, however, denounce the fact that the device was built to support the Steam store and library accounts existing out there in customers “virtual wallets”.

Better take your time before deciding which Steambox is for you, seems Valve is backing out of deals with hard drive partners quicker than investors to the Phantom. We can’t say we blame Valve for wanting their own device, but they really should have cleared up the connection between Steam and the Piston console a lot sooner (or at least at all, we still aren’t sure exactly what’s going to happen as they haven’t said it won’t support Steam and instead just don’t want us calling it a ‘Steambox’ because those will cost a lot less apparently).

All eyes are on Valve now, who could deliver a large-scale entrance to the console industry if they have exclusive titles, reasonable entry price, and allow play of existing Steam library account titles already owned by their users. If they can’t meet those objectives with the Piston console, it’s only for the best that it be considered an experimental preview of what is possible with the Micro-PC / Gaming Console hybrid model.

PlayStation Vita Outsells Wii U

Just over 9,600 sales last week for the Nintendo Wii U puts it behind the PlayStation Vita. The home console is causing confusion in the consumer market where potential customers expect that this product offers the Wii experience at home and on the go.

When sales people are forced to deny this feature, as it isn’t the intended purpose of the Wii U, the appeal is lost and so is the sale. PlayStation has done a much better job of establishing what its brand does at home and on the go and how you can use the PlayStation Vita in conjunction with the PS3 and upcoming PS4 to play your favorite PlayStation franchises on the go, and more.

Whether this dip in sales is just a trend or will remain the situation is unclear at this time. There is currently plans being highly publicized and officially confirmed that Nintendo will soon release a Mini Wii. After this final attempt to spark interest in new hardware, Nintendo will have to be patient before making any more moves in the video game hardware manufacturing industry.
