Grand Theft Auto V PlayStation 4 Review

Grand Theft Auto V PlayStation 4 Review - RealGamerNewz

Straight from the first step into Los Santos the textures and graphics are exactly what we’ve all been hoping for, depth visuals. Whether your returning from PS3 or this is your first visit to Los Santo’s, you are in for a treat. The environment looks super smooth with eye-popping details in every object, I dare say Rockstar may have we finally tamed GTA’s beastly new engine and harnessed its power properly on next-gen consoles.

A ton of new features, upgrades, and individual content pieces have been added to the game, the best of which I can say, DRAW DISTANCE has been improved. The worst thing I can say is that fans are tired of waiting for Heists missions to release, and although it’s great they’re being prepped for release now that the next-gen launches of Grand Theft Auto V are out – we were ready for them literally a year ago. Hopefully the build up is worth the wait, I’m surely not envying the pressure Rockstar Games must be feeling on that one.

Exclusive Content for those who have already played Grand Theft Auto V on previous systems is included in the game surprisingly enough. This extends from solving a Murder Mystery eventually leading to an unlockable graphics filter for the game, exclusive weapons including a Hatchet and high power Rail Gun, the Wildlife Photography Challenge, Stock Car Races, and some other stuff we won’t mention because it’s just more fun finding on your own.

GTA V RealGamerNewz PS4 Review

The liquid graphic textures that end up splattered on your car or on the ground appear raised and with proper depth and lighting. The end result is what looks a three dimensional effect. Problem is, the splatter pattern leaves little to be desired. Fluid animations overall though have seen a great upgrade.

In terms of overall graphics, EQAA (Enhanced Quality Anti-Aliasing) and high-quality FXAA (Fast Approximate Anti-Aliasing) has been upgraded according to Rockstar Games’ Reviewer’s Guide handed down to press. Antisotropic filtering has also been implemented in a way that is meant to make far away images look sharper. This definitely works while maintaining a larger draw distance, and nearly zero pop-up that I can find.More specs are listed including Tesselation and displacement mapping as well as Parallax occlusion which can account for some of our earlier observations with gooey substances looking more real.

Rockstar Games also boasts improved physics, particle effects, lighting (over 3x the number of light sources from Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3, among other lighting upgrades), re-modeled textures, re-sculpted objects, volumetric light pollution, and more.

There’s been over 150 songs added to the sound-track, great small touches like High Definition versions of the television shows you can watch in-game at your characters’ mansions such as Republican Space Rangers or Impotent Rage. There’s even new vehicles to check out.

Online mode has been increased to 30 players with 2 spectators, a new first person mode has been released revealing all kinds of great easter eggs and hidden goodies in the game. FPS mode also has its own (optional) cover system to duck and lean up against walls, new ways to aim, and controls that feel like a first person shooter not the regular GTA just pasted into first person. This can be customized, so fear not if those words brought little comfort.

GTA Online also comes pre-patched now, with 11 updates already included off the bat. GTA Online on next-gen consoles will usher in a new experience, which is great because the last gen version has succumb to many hackers as of late who enjoy trolling and ruining the experience for others with cheats and / or mods to the game world peer-to-peer servers (since Rockstar doesn’t appear to host any of their own). Hopefully that problem will still be patched on last-gen systems though, and owners won’t be left behind.

Final Verdict:

If you haven’t been a part of the Grand Theft Auto V Experience yet, you don’t know what you’re missing. In this version, Driving stability has been taken to a new level. The overall feel of the game as well as the surroundings are meshed without unsightly lines or glitches even at top speeds. New crash animations have been introduced with subtle slow motion scenes just before impact lasting split seconds so you can bear witness to your self-inflicted carnage. Glass smashing, smoke burrowing, tiny pieces, and particles disintegrate as it all unfolds.

After seeing the difference between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Grand Theft Auto V, I really appreciate the work that went into the upgrade details. This game comes with everything that made the first version great, smoother graphics with new textures and objects, and higher quality engine performance. The extra content added will be producing hours of replay value and Heists is still on the way according to Rockstar. All of these things are what makes revisiting Grand Theft Auto V well worth a second purchase.

Trials Fusion PS4 Review

Trials Fusion RGN Review RealGamerNewz

Trials Fusion has all the intricate attributes that it takes to have a high flying intense bike competition. This futuristic sci-fi rider traverses a strange universe of planets that are chock full of insane ramp structures, mixed with organic scenes and trails. Fusion gives you all the tools, equipment, and training you need to immerse yourself into the world of trial bike riding whether you are familiar with this type of sport riding, or have never even seen it before, thanks much in part to the non-invasive training qualifiers.

At the beginning of every new level a training lap is required to unlock the different types of levels and race tracks / competitions. This lap will need to be completed before you can progress forward. These short instructional tracks help the player while in motion and lessen the learning curb considerably. The beginning tracks are great for just letting it rip and getting a good feel for the insane things you can pull off. Later on in the higher levels, a serious degree of challenge and difficulty are presented.

In Trials Fusion, it’s all about the run time as players race to overcome obstacles and find the right combination of throttle versus angle in order to best their previous times in the hunt for Gold and Platinum medals. While all of the competitions are timed, some of them require points for the medals which are generated by successfully completing stunts in an all-out freestyle battle. As players progress, the levels intensify training a player to master the balance and exact power it takes to hop from a dead stop across perfectly measured zones where the slightest mistake will not allow you to move forward.

Trials Fusion Xbox One Review PS4 RealGamerNewz

With the track creator the only thing stopping you from making an insane jump and climb-infused track is your own imagination. Place ramps, obstacles, and create impossible climbing situations of your own and load them up online for everyone to take a crack at them. With this mode and a Season’s Pass full of content on the way, Trials Fusion will continue to be played on your friends list for some time.

Final Verdict:

Currently at the time of this Review, players can only play local multi-player on the same screen, which is a very cool racing experience introducing real life side by side dynamics, but soon fully Online Multiplayer will be launched for the title providing a much more exciting gameplay option. At that point, this title becomes a must-have for sessions with friends.

After spending enough time to acquire the gold medals needed to unlock the final tracks I am looking forward to incoming DLC as well as player-created runs. That will give this title the longevity it deserves for a different type of session whether you are in it for serious competition or just out to have some high flying fun. Trials Fusion gets a 9 out of 10 from RealGamerNewz, making it a an RGN Gold rated game. Be on the lookout for future reviews of the upcoming add-on content for Trials Fusion Season Pass holders soon.

NASCAR Redline Review

NASCAR Redline is a mobile game that recently released for the iOS App Store and is built to take full advantage of the iPhone 5’s extended capabilities. Eutechnyx is a known developer behind many NASCAR games published on console as well as PC spanning a number of impressive simulation and gameplay experiences. This title takes the fundamental experience of games like NASCAR: Inside Line and NASCAR: The Game 2013 and essentially puts them in your pocket. With Redline though, that isn’t just a selling tag, it’s actually true as nearly all aspects of the game have been recreated for the mobile title, but now turn-based.

Controls: That’s right turn-based. NASCAR Redline features input at certain moments that effect the simulation of what you’re seeing. You can start and pause a statistics feed you’re seeing which tells you your position in the game, the amount of damage done to your car, and how much fuel you have. There’s also a text narration of the events taking place in the race, such as drivers passing each other or experiencing difficulties. You’ll also be notified of caution timers and be able to select how much gas to get in the pit, tires to swap, and how heavily to repair your vehicle. This is basically a turn-based system that is sometimes randomly interrupted to bring you to a cut-scene which asks you to hold the gas or break for a certain amount of time, prevent the vehicle from redlining, and then wait to see how this is played out in hi-fidelity graphics followed by in your text-based stat-readout view of the simulation.

Now I know what you’re thinking, Redline isn’t a racing game. This is a title for the iPhone 5 which you can pick up and play at any moment, with micro-seconds of gameplay dedicated at a time if necessary. Redline represents a flawlessly reliable, beautiful looking, and intense simulation game controlled by a fairly straight-forward menu screen with cut-scenes that you control acted out in a visually 3D world that is mind-blowing hi-fidelity.

This type of gameplay experience is not going to be for everyone. Some might be looking for the more direct racing experience, and while all aspects of the NASCAR sport and game series are here, they are represented by a completely new input and control style. This game, however, is perfect for the iPhone 5. Gamers on the run who love the NASCAR video games by Eutechnyx finally have a NASCAR sim in their pockets which allows them to pitch fictional races, control a driver in them, and do all of this while busy in their real lives at work or at a doctor’s office waiting around. Small snippets of gameplay can be had with Redline. It can be placed in your pocket with the race still taking place. Then it can be picked up and interacted with. There’s also incentive to keep playing more often thanks to a complete campaign system.

Nascar Redline Review

Campaign: The full week by week campaign of NASCAR Redline from Eutechnyx is a complete simulation of the career in a NASCAR driver’s life. From races, to training, to upgrades, and even managing sponsors players are taken through many aspects of the sport with their hi-resolution vehicle pitting and speeding against other drivers to make it to the top. Development of your skills is a necessary part of moving through the entire game which also features an unlockable “SEASON” experience that delivers the authentic experience of a competitive driver in the NASCAR racing league.

Gameplay: There seems to be nothing missing from its console counterparts as NASCAR Redline enters the mobile world as possibly the most polished racing game on the entire platform, however the way you play the game is totally different. The game’s simulation and input, found in more detail above (in the controls section),

Drivers / A.I.: The artificial intelligence of the drivers in NASCAR Redline are what you’d expect from a Eutechnyx game, they’re realistic and brutally difficult until you get on their level. All of the real life drivers from NASCAR are here as well as the images of their vehicles in a high resolution 3D representation. Eutechnyx is a trusted developer of the NASCAR licensed intellectual property and Redline is an official production sanctioned by the NASCAR companies. But the game isn’t all serious, it’s pretty funny to watch the player’s vehicle peel out doing donuts after a race.

Graphics / Art Direction: The art style of NASCAR: Redline is of course photo-realism with graphics that impress on the iPhone 5 model series of devices. Eutechnyx shows their mastery at even mobile games as this title delivers the experience of a full NASCAR game found on consoles or even the PC. If anything the Redline mobile game for iPhone 5 shows off the scale to which this developer is ready to make a full racing title. We surely hope this is in the plans and pipeline for driving fans that want a real-time experience rather than a time management game.

Soundtrack, Audio, Voice: Realistic background noise and engine effects are found in the game. There’s no voice-acting or major audio system in the game, other than during its interactive cut-scenes, but the soundtrack does remain true to the NASCAR theme and license. There is a decent offering of music in-game, including a “Redline” soundtrack that fades in and out at times among other sound effects.

Replay Ability: High – Customization and upgrades held over the course of gameplay make it so the title is easy to play over and over with perpetual goals giving your thumbs a long play-through.

Engine Performance: No glitches were experienced during our play-through of the game.

Final Verdict:

Once you’re into the concept of a NASCAR racing simulator that allows pocket-play at any time, the title fits well in your iPhone and is completely worth the low price it’s being charged. NASCAR Redline gives you a quick play on an interactive action piece for the true NASCAR fans out there. If you aren’t a fan of the franchise, you can still appreciate a quick game of this with time to spare. Those who are looking for a full driving / racing NASCAR title on the iPhone 5 will currently be disappointed though, which is basically the only negative point of this title. For those who may have expected a different genre for NASCAR’s first iOS installment, they will be met with an unfamiliar set of gameplay mechanics to the NASCAR IP. But if they give that unfamiliar experience a chance they will find a very polished, thought-out experience meant to take away any mind-numbingly boring moments out of life and replace them with dreams of winning at the All-American Driving Sport.

Call of Duty Playing it Safe on Black Ops 2 to Avoid Fan Outrage?

Black Ops 2 Official Logo

Well it’s official, Black Ops is back for round two. I’m still not sure how I feel about this, fully knowing that another carbon copy of the same game is what  do best. I think most of us are hoping for something a lot better then that. From what we have seen and heard so far it appears that there will be some changes. They are saying that it is warfare in the near future. The pics look like updated Halo soldiers, but why are they being gun-shy with going full future like Battlefield 2142 did?

At least one new weapon has leaked the quad-rotor RC attack helicopter which was turned into a real life weapon on FPS Russian’s channel. Also there is a rumor that the Spy Perk will be returning this rumor was started by the new short video that is up on the COD site that basicly say’s “The enemy could be anywhere and it could be anyone ” The Spy perk’s definition is appear as a friendly on the map ( disadvantage is, your always spotted even without a UAV, and when shooting, you turn red on the map). Pro : detect enemy spy’s. They will always be spotted on the radar. Elite : If pilot is active, your airship will be marked as an ally.

So some of the question’s I guess will be will they bring back the zombies and will it be in a less claustrophobic environment? Maybe they could use some of that near-future twist to make it some sort of man made outbreak situation that unfolds while your playing that would be innovative for this title to say the least. What if any changes will we see to the kill-streak rewards system? Or maybe it is just left out of the game all-together. Lastly what other kind of weapons, perks, and environments would really give COD a chance to prove they can make something better or even just a little different then what they hash out every year.

There were a few things for me that made Black Op’s a better game to me then MW3. Like the zombie mode for one and the overall feel and game-play were better than MW3 in my opinion. The Black Op’s maps seemed to play better then MW3 maps do as well. The chat system worked way better then the garbled noisiness of MW2 and MW3. Any of the people on my friends list have tossed MW3 aside and have gone back to Black Op’s or even MW2.

Will the campaign mode story give us something that we have yet to see from this franchise? I think it dam well should! They have pushed it to the near future so something has to give in that department. Going backwards in the time-line has been to overdone not only in this series but in most other shooter series as well. What about larger maps for multi-player mode with some vehicles? For the money we been dishing out every year we deserve some dynamics added to the playing field.

We already can bank on the crappy server system they have proved time and again that they don’t care about not having dedicated servers making us use the matchmaking system from hell over all of the previous titles that is unless you want to dish out the coin for servers yourself and play with only the other people who have done the same.

I will be picking this game up upon release for a few different reasons. I always give the franchise a chance. I don’t want to not buy the game and have it be the one time they actually redeemed themselves by making some original changes and breaking out of the cookie cutter mold that has been Call of Duty for so many years. And whether it does or doesn’t change you can bet I will be filling in the blanks after playing through the entire campaign as well as logging no less then 40 hours on multi-player and co-op.

Modern Warfare 3 Survival and Spec Ops Review

Having finished up both the campaign and multi-player reviews on this title and by request of a few readers I figured might as well get some time in on the remaining modes Survival and Spec-Ops. After logging almost fourteen hours between the two modes the first thing I have to say is with the exception of missions changing Spec-Ops is the exact same mode as Black-Ops released last year and it’s predecessor MW2.

There are different objectives different maps different enemies but the overall game mode has remained unchanged. The plus side to having this extra game mode is more game time for the money you shelled out seeing the story mode even on hardened mode is easily completed by most in under six hours. I will break down the missions in order though they maybe played in any order you choose. The down side to it is that you are just playing a remix of the story mode over again broken down into separate smaller timed missions with a few changes to keep it interesting.

Stay Sharp : This is a real short version of the obstacle course that has the metal cut outs of the bad guys along with the good guys and you race the clock to complete without harming any civilians. One thing about the course this time around I found it to be way too easy and also way to short.

MileHigh Jack : In this one instead of protecting the president like you did in the campaign story you are actually taking out his personal guards and trying to capture him.

Over Reactor : The Russians have rigged the nuclear sub with explosives in hopes of causing a meltdown. But they are also on the sub at the same time defending it which makes absolutely no sense at all even the hatch to get inside has explosives strapped to it.

Hit And Run : A sizable amount of enemy forces are holding you embassy staff hostage. The objective kills are shown on the map the amount of enemy doesn’t make it easier to complete they get reinforcements. So like the title says you need to hit and run.

Toxic Paradise : Outfitted in a Juggernaut suit you must collect a number of nerve gas samples while fighting off the waves of enemies that have truck mounted 50  calibers and also marking out targets with their smoke for air support bomb runs against your location.

Firewall : This section requires you to hack into the enemy security sentries and make your way to the subway system before your allotted time runs out. This mission requires two players.

Fatal Extraction : Find and collect all five pieces of Intel to help locate your high priority target then take him out.

Hostage Taker : You will need to use stealth to eliminate the guards and find the presidents daughter before they do. They have helicopter support so the need to go unseen is a priority. But wait, didn’t we just highjack the presidents plane and take him hostage on the MileHigh Jack mission?

Charges Set : Another round of the obstacle course with different weapons  more enemies ans explosive breaching still too easy and too short.

Resistance Movement : Make your way through the destroyed downtown streets ‘quietly’ while freeing  and gathering as many rebels from enemy custody as you can and get them to the landing zone for extraction.

Little Bros :  Multiple short missions trying to destroy all the data before the Russians can get a hold of it.

Invisible Threat While suited up as juggernaut use the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) ( to mark the IED’s (Improvised Explosive Devices). While being swarmed with enemy forces and receiving timed back up response from friendly’s. To clear the way so your armor can roll through safely.

Server Crash : Battle through the streets taking out armored trucks full of enemies from the back of a jeep with your grenade launcher. Then get into Volks’ underground hideout and download his master plan.

Resistance Movement : Drop in from the helicopter after taking out a bunch of militia to rid the town of the contraband while they try to stop you.

Flood The Market : Head to the stock exchange floor to retrieve the Russian’s encryption codes.

Fire Mission : Disable enemy anti-air defense and infiltrate their base while using the AC-130 for support. This mission requires two players.

All but two missions can be completed solo though it is much easier to have some help along for the ride. For the most part the best thing about it as I mentioned is extra time that you wouldn’t have if they left it out this time around which would make it a worse deal all together.

Survival mode is more of a challenge with seemingly endless waves of enemies swarming your location with such accuracy that it seems like they have unlimited advanced UAV’s. Though the mode id different from the zombies mode of Black ops you can I feel if it were mostly indoors as zombies was it would feel exactly the same.

If your looking for where the camping aspect has been plaguing this title since the first release look no further this is like basic training for the camp happy style players. It literally tells you from the first seconds of the game to dig in and use all resources available. This mode also gives you unlimited amount of time to train at camp happy find all the best spots try all the best camp strategies on every single map before you go into multi-player and set up your real campy camp.

You start out with the pistol only. Some of the key differences about the weapon systems are in zombies you used the cash generated to buy the weapons on the wall. In survival you can salvage all weapons from the enemies you take out. The ammo also comes along with it but most every enemy gun has around 10 to 15 shots left on it when you pick it up and no grenades to keep it interesting. Also the weapons carried by the enemy only advance as you do so don’t expect to get all the best gear from them right away cause they all carry the same weapons simultaneously.

After completing the first wave your weapons armory will open up map will display a handgun silhouette showing you it’s location at all times. In this case you can use the cash acquired to purchase various items but each one opens up to you at a certain rank as you start to climb the ladder.

Weapons Armory

  • Refill Bullet Ammo ($750)
  • Handguns
  • Machine Pistols
  • Assault Rifles
  • Sub Machine Guns
  • Light Machine Guns
  • Sniper Rifles (Unlocked at level 90)
  • Shotguns
  • Weapons upgrades

The equipment armory is available after wave number two has been completed. This will appear on your heads up display as a frag silhouette.

Equipment Armory

  • Frag Grenade Refill
  • Flash Grenade Refill
  • Claymores – 30 max
  • C4 x5 – 10 max
  • RPG-7 x2 – 4 max
  • Sentry Gun
  • Sentry Grenade Launcher
  • Body Armor
  • Self-Revive
  • Riot Shield

After the third wave has been completed the air support armory will be available. The shape of the predator missile will be the silhouette.

Air Support Armory

  • Predator Missile
  • Air Strike
  • Delta Squad
  • Riot Shield Squad
  • Perk Care Package

Sounds like a lot unlocked right away but remember you still have to rank up and earn the cash to be able to access any of these items. There are four maps to start off with and twelve more you will have to unlock by completing the waves. The waves differ from wave level and map but most consist Bomb squads, attack dogs, choppers, juggernauts and juggernauts with riot shields, chemical warfare, and claymore experts.

I didn’t really find it challenging until the upper teen levels and even then I wasn’t taking full advantage of the armories or weapon upgrades. The good part is starting over doesn’t take as long when you die you can build back up to where you were at pretty quickly. I honestly say that I do like survivors mode more then the zombies of Blops.

You will get more game time for sure with these modes especially if you play all difficulty levels and try to acquire all three stars for every mission. For the most part both of these modes are better then the multi-player aspect of the game just due to the fact that there is no lag, and no aggravating twelve year old’s talking smack.

Overall Score: N/A

Starhawk Private Multiplayer Beta 1.0.2 + 1.0.3 First Impressions

The Starhawk Private Beta has begun. Invites started rolling out on Tuesday November the twenty-second. We were lucky enough to get a code before the masses arrived. The first thing you will get to do is spawn. Not a big deal right but wait, you don’t just spawn you get to drop from the outer atmosphere in a fiery pod. Select where on the part of the map that your team controls. This can also be used as a weapon by aiming for the enemy while getting ready to spawn and controlling your fall with a  target landing mark that moves with you as the pod gets closer to hitting ground.

In the beginning of the match after ‘podding’ down from space it’s a fast and furious race to get building. Identifying strategic choke-points in maps is essential to seeing every weapon and vehicle you will be needing. You will need to find out how many protection structures your flag will need as well so they can be built then used. This is the build and battle feature that has transformed this series into a strategically enhanced super fast action third person shooter.

Each build includes either a weapon storage location where your teammates can load up or houses a vehicle such as the Razorback – a futuristic version of a jeep that has a mounted 50 cal on the back and seats three. Don’t worry, the other passenger can also wield his rifle at the same time. Some of the other buildings house the jet pack dispensers, and the holy grail of weapons the Mech-Hawk.

The Mech-Hawk brings back the Warhawk flight style air battles with the twist of being able to transform back into an unmatched ground force in the blink of an eye taking all of the weapons from the aircraft with it and adding the power to just stomp people out as they run away in fear. This new hybrid vehicle is the ultimate weapon.

The maps we have seen so far are futuristic to say the least with everything from acid spewing oceans to outer space platforms hovering far above the planets sporting awesome visual details from every possible angle. After logging quite a few hours I would find it hard to believe anyone if they said they were not enjoying it.

In all other games you race out to gain position looking for the perfect spot to set up and get ready for the war. In this game you make your spot wherever you want including directly in the enemies camp. But don’t expect to be there long because they can destroy it just as fast as you can build it. Put up a sniper tower in any location you want climb up to the perch and your weapon and ammo are sitting there waiting for you.

Not only can you drop down and nail the enemy with your spawn pod but you can also decimate the enemy with any one of your buildings if your timing is right. Taking bases requires a beacon to be placed so that you and your team may spawn there and begin to build your fortress the whole time while pushing forward toward the enemy forces.

In this early beta only thirty-two structures are allowed for the eight player team. Not to worry, the structures also come with the ability to reclaim them in order to better enhance your strategy or to just build something you’re needing more than what’s already there. For instance, you have built a fortress of walls around your flag or in your base blocking all entrances and you need something for the forward bases. No problem, simply reclaim the stuff you’re not using and communicate with the team letting them know what you need and where you need it placed.

So far I have to say it has been a long time for many of us Warhawk veterans waiting in anticipation for this release, even when mum was the word for so long until the secret PlayStation 3 exclusive became a reality. The hardcore Warhawk fans knew that something was in the works all along. Dylan Jobe and his team over at Light Box Interactive have not disappointed with their latest installment and I have to say they have exceeded my expectations. Having logged over three thousand hours in their previous game Warhawk, I do not say that lightly.

The best part is there’s even more coming! I’m talking more vehicles, more maps, more modes, even the addition of a story mode will be in the mix before it’s all said and done. This is just the beginning of what players are going to get when they purchase Starhawk. Not to mention the unbelievable amount of replay value this title will have. I’m expecting the same, if not more than Warhawk which is still enjoyed online daily after its release in 2007.
