Beatz N’ Bitz Podcast – One Week ‘Til Smash

On this week’s episode of Beatz N’ Bitz Podcast Jon Iro and DJ Killzown Jones come together to discuss a plethora of issues in the game industry as well as hip hop’s recent shenanigans. 50 Cent, 6ix9ine, and the rap beef genre being used to generate fame / street cred is evaluated while loot boxes and their affect on gaming is also a major theme. This week’s show discusses government intervention on the microtransaction issue in modern video games as well as their proven link to gambling among young adults and problem gamblers.

In addition to these topics, PS4 hacking, Nintendo Switch leaks including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the affect they may or may not have on sales is discussed as well as the link between big online retail companies like Amazon and the problem with stores shutting down to the industrial growth complex. Death Stranding is rumored to have a particular release date, which gets discussed in the outro, but be sure to check out everything in store in this week’s brief but detailed show where we kept it in-depth and got right to the juicy points of each segment. Keep it real, keep it gaming! Peace.

Beatz N’ Bitz Podcast – Our Future Is Now

Some of this week’s topics include Fallout 76 Launch Week Impressions as well as some other hot button topics going on currently in the video games industry. Gaming companies lashing out against their own fan-base whenever their projects get criticized is compared with the outrage culture in the community giving real criticisms a bad name. The casual market paying in on games causing publishers and development studios to become out of touch and fail to differentiate between the cash-grabs and the culture, the hardcore who fly out to attend events from the rest of the crowd.

Hip hop topics include the flu-caused passing of Diddy (AKA Puff Daddy) ex-girlfriend whom he says taught him how to raise a family and is deeply mourned as well as the latest antics from popular dramatic entertainers such as Tekashi 6ix9ine, 2 Milly is suing Epic Games for using the Milly Rock dance in Fortnite without paying, but that lawsuit could get messy regardless of the suspicious fact that Fortnite is clearly using well known dances without naming the creators or giving any credit / context on where they came from.

Additional topics include PlayStation 5 rumored announcement for PlayStation Experience Event in 2019, PlayStation Classic lineup and hardware analysis, the digital-only Xbox One, Project Scarlet, and Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft’s new overall next-gen approach to being a cheap streaming games platform with exclusive titles is also discussed. The Game Awards is the next big event RGN is counting down towards and will air December 6, 2018 (just 17 days to go) with a full WrapUp & Videos being posted on RealGamerNewZ when it happens.

iRGN #10: The Many Side Effects of Consumer Abuse From AAA Publishers

iRGN Episode 9 - RealGamerNewz Podcast

In the following uncensored, unedited podcast (sorry if there’s any offensive bloopers I meant to edit out 🙂 it’s been a busy week!) RealGamerNewz discusses a bunch of heavy topics for about 45 minutes including Review Scores, Indie VS AAA Games, Console Gaming and it’s current state as well as its future, Used Games and their effect on the industry when weighed against their convenience to the consumer, and more. Some of the other topics we cover are including, but not limited to, the pre-order culture, the over-saturation of DLC in the industry and publishers removing content that was meant to be part of the full game just so they can sell it back to us as DLC, other forms of consumer abuse such as misleading marketing or false advertising, and the effects all of this is having on the growing distrust of major video game developers and publisher worldwide from their consumer-base.

The opinions expressed on this show are that of the speakers and may not represent their final thoughts as everyone is a growing, evolving human being with advancing viewpoints that change over time. They also may not represent the opinions of the rest of our staff. Enjoy responsibly. I don’t always publish podcasts, but when I do I normally go all out, feel free to disagree. And until next time… Keep it real, keep it gaming!

RGN Podcast: Should Gamers Pre-Order Star Wars: Battlefront & Trust DICE / EA ?

RGN Podcast Aug 9 2013

After the big kick-off with Star Wars Celebration’s Battlefront Reveal and today’s Battlefront Dev Diary many gamers are split into two groups; those who are foaming at the mouth and throwing their money at the screen versus those who are calling foul, b.s., or much less friendly words towards their screens in disbelief and perhaps jaded but justified distrust. In the following RealGamerNewz Podcast we sit down and discuss whether or not gamers should think about pre-ordering the game at this point, which is what EA Games is suggesting everyone get ready to do right now. We also speak about all of the details thus far that are known about the game to be certain, which it turns out is not very much information at this time. DICE and their history developing games is discussed as well as the legacy of the Battlefront series.

In this Podcast we brought on RGN contributors who share differing views but are both determined to eventually play this game to see it for themselves, and we have a peaceful discussion which often breaks down into a debate showing both sides. One thing’s for sure, the pressure is definitely on for DICE and EA to surpass the partially complete, leaked, and cancelled Battlefront III that LucasArts was developing. Take a listen to the show below, do the research yourself, and make up your own mind. Thanks in advance for listening!

RGN Daily News #75: Hideo Kojima Shuns Silent Hills, Metal Gear Movie Still On

RGN Daily 75

3 New Assassin’s Creed Games, a 44 Minute Bloodborne Playthrough, and much more are discussed in today’s RGN Daily News as we dissect just exactly how far Ubisoft is willing to go to make a buck at the expense of their most beloved franchise. The Xbox and PlayStation platforms get their April lineups announced in regard to free games being made available for paid subscribers of Live GOLD and PS Plus respectively. Check out the latest Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay footage and our thoughts on what’s going on with Konami dumping the Kojima Productions name from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as well as Silent Hills which seems all but gutted from Hideo Kojima’s influence although they appear to be sticking with the FOX Engine logo on the box art for now.

Mixed feelings come up when we speak about the Super Mario 64 HD Fan Remake being banned. In a perfect world we’d love all HD Fan Remakes to survive, but Nintendo is actively working with the Mario IP still so from a legal stance this just can’t fly. Atari on the other hand are jerks for blocking the spiritual successor to Tempest, which we also discuss and use as an example to draw comparisons from on the Super Mario situation. Alan Wake Lifetime Sales are revealed, a new Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition PS4 Bundle is seen for the first time, and Metal Gear Solid: The Movie is still happening.

∞ All this and more delivered by the delightful RealGamerNewz and Shotgun Seat Productions. Tune in below.
