The Division Xbox One Beta Delayed, Closed Alpha Releases this Week

Tom-Clancys-The-Division

Xbox One owners who were looking forward to playing the Beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division this month, will now have to wait until early 2016. Not to worry though,as Ubisoft has confirmed that those who pre-order the upcoming open-world action-RPG on X1, will receive priority access to the closed alpha, which will run from December 9-12.

Access to the closed alpha may be granted to those on the wishlist on, “as needed basis”.

“This exclusive Xbox One alpha testing phase in December will be the first time the public gets to play a version of The Division that includes more than the Dark Zone PvP enabled areas. This means the moment you and other players sign into the game, you’ll be giving us valuable insight into how our infrastructure performs under pressure that we can’t replicate internally or at a tradeshow. This process allows us to monitor and gather additional feedback on other aspects of The Division, as well.”

You can find Ubisoft’s FAQ about the close Alpha.

The Division Alpha FAQ

1. Which platforms is the alpha available on?

Tom Clancy’s The Division Alpha will be available on Xbox One.

2. What are the start and end times for the Alpha?

The alpha will begin December 9 at 10 AM CET | 4 AM EST | 1 AM PST and will end December 12 at 9AM | 3 AM EST | 12 AM PST CET. We will begin sending codes on December 7, so keep an eye on your email.

3. Can I upload videos to Youtube or livestream the game?

No. There is an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) for this alpha. By accepting the NDA, you are agreeing to not disclose alpha information and footage to the public. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Capturing gameplay content
  • Livestreaming
  • Posting images
  • Discussing the alpha anywhere outside of the alpha forums.

Please keep in mind that The Division Alpha is not a final representation of the game. For this alpha, we will be focusing mainly on gameplay feedback and other technical aspects such as server stability. This is the first time The Division will actively be in a public testing phase, so signing an NDA is required to participate.

4.What regions and country is the alpha available in?

The alpha will be available worldwide except for Japan and China.

Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s The Division Still on Track for a 2015 Release

TD

The Division, Ubisoft’s upcoming MMO style third-person shooter was originally set for a 2014 release before being delayed into 2015. Since the delay there has been some speculation in regards to when it will actually drop. Some feel as though the game will see another delay, resulting in a 2016 release. While others have already made that claim, despite having no concrete info to back it up. The lack of an actual release date, doesn’t little to quell the growing speculation.

Well, according to a post from Ubisoft Canada’s facebook account, The Division — along with Rainbow 6: Siege,  is still set to launch later this year. The post essentially asks fans which of the two 2015 Tom Clancy titles, they are most excited for.

“We’ve got two Clancy games coming this year… Which one are YOU most excited for? Rainbow Six Siege or The Division?”

TDR6

Stay tuned to RGN for more info on both titles as they arise. To answer Ubisoft Canada’s question, I’m more excited for The Division. What about you?
