redhood

Worried about not being able to get your hands on all the exclusive pre-order DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight? Well if you plan on purchasing the game’s Season Pass, you’ll still be able to play as the Red Hood and utilize those booster packs. This news was posted on WB’s Forums, where Community Admin Yorick offered some clarity on the issue.

“Throughout the 6 months of additional Batman: Arkham Knight content, Premium and Season Pass owners will receive all in-game content that is offered through various retail pre-order incentives. This includes the Harley Quinn and Red Hood Story Packs, as well as any Batmobile or Booster Pack that was available as early bonuses for pre-order of the game.  For those who did not receive the content with their game, these items will become available when their respective exclusivity windows expire in August/September,” Yorick explained.

For $40 Season Pass will deliver new content over a 6 month time period after the game’s release. Fans can look forward to more story content — including the chance to play as Batgirl, challenge maps and more for $40.

Batman: Arkham Knight will launch next Tuesday for PS4 and Xbox One.

Batman: Arkham Knight’s Season Pass Detailed

Batgirl

Last week saw the reveal of the season pass for Rocksteady’s upcoming Batman title, and the reaction wasn’t terribly positive. With very little detail on what the pass would deliver and the $40 price tag, many fans were understandably upset. In response to this, Rocksteady has offered some details on what fans can expect including the option to play as Batgirl in her very own prequel story, new character skins and more.

“While the story of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Trilogy will come to a close on June 23rd, we are excited to continue telling stories and delivering more content to explore and play through in the 6 months following the game’s release. We’ll be building more narrative, more missions, more challenges and more characters and vehicles that we want players to experience, even though they didn’t fit into the storyline of Batman: Arkham Knight.”

While they aren’t ready to reveal everything on the season pass’ content, they were generous enough to offer enough to help the fans have a better understanding of what they will be developing.

Batgirl: A Matter of Family

An all new prequel story expansion in an entirely new location where you play as Batgirl for the very first time in the Arkham series

The Season of Infamy

Play as Batman in all new story missions featuring legendary super-villains invading Gotham City, with new story arcs, missions and gameplay features

Gotham City Stories

Legendary Batmobiles with Themed Tracks

Crimefighter Challenge Maps

The teaser features all four DLC characters, included in the Kombat Pack; Jason Voorhees, The Predator, Tanya and Tremor. For $29.99, the Kombat Pack will award you the aforementioned fighters as well as alternate skins for others.

Below is what you get with the Kombat Pack:

The Ultimate Horror Pack

[Update] Dying Light: Nightmare Row Announced

DL2

Zombie fans who are looking forward to Techland’s Dying Light but also like to get their read on, are in for a treat. The novel Dying Light: Nightmare Row has been revealed by the game’s official twitter account. It is being written by Raymond Benson, the author best known for his run as the official author of the adult James Bond novels from 1997 to 2003.

Update:

An official press release offers up some info on the game’s plot.

Dying Light: Nightmare Row tells the terrifying story of Mel Wyatt, an 18-year-old American athlete who participated in the Harran 2015 Global Athletic Games two weeks earlier. As one of many Americans stranded in Harran as a result of the outbreak, Mel has been surviving with her little brother, Paul, in an isolated hotel – their parents were killed on the first day of the Infected attacks on the stadium. Thus begins a tense and ticking time bomb thriller of survival.

The author gave a statement on his time writing Nightmare Row:

“Writing the origin story for DYING LIGHT was an exciting adventure for me,” says Benson. “I’d always wanted to try my hand at a zombie-genre tale and this gave me the perfect opportunity. The folks at Techland created a rich and intriguingly bleak setting for the game, so that gave me a wonderful and creepy world in which to play around.  All fans of zombie fiction, gamers and readers alike, are in for a real treat.”

Stay tuned to RGN for more info on the novel including pricing

Batman: Arkham Knight’s Limited Edition May Have Spoiled a Major Part of the Story

Batman-Arkham-Knight-5

The Limited Edition of  Batman: Arkham Knight, may have inadvertently spoiled the game’s story. As it was revealed last year, the LE package contains a 50 page custom art book, a steelbook case, comic book and a 12-inch statue of the Caped Crusader.

So what about this is spoiler you ask? Well if you aren’t bothered by spoilers (If you are then turn back!), then pay closer attention to the plaque on statue in the pic below. When it was first revealed the plaque read, “The Gotham Knight”. Now (SPOILERS) the words inscribed now says, “From a grateful city, in memory of the Gotham Knight.” This pretty much implies that The World’s Greatest Detective’s time as Batman comes to an end.

AK

Whether Rocksteady actually kills off the bat or they go The Dark Knight Returns/Rises route, is anyone’s guess. We will have our answer come summer time, when the game releases on June 2.
