WWE 2K15: WWE Summerslam 2015 Predictions

Summerslam

In just under 7 hours the 2015 WWE Summerslam event will kick off tonight and feature many match ups that are sure to entertain. Everyone has their own predictions on the outcome of each match. I’ve decided to share mine via the WWE 2K15 video game, on the hard difficulty.

I only six of the ten matches for tonight, since some other participants are not featured in this game, such as Stardust and Sasha Banks. Still enjoy.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev

Ryback vs. Big Show vs. The Miz (Triple Threat Intercontinental Championship Match)

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus

Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper vs. Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose

John Cena vs. Seth Rollins (Title for Title Match)

Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker (Skip ahead to 2:15)

Are any of these outcomes what you’ve predicted, sound off in the comments below.

WWE 2K15 Dev Working on a Way to Deal with those Pesky Online Spammers and How They Should do It

wwe2k

Opponents spamming you with repeated running attacks, has been the bane of online matches in past WWE games. Unfortunately WWE 2K15 is also ripe with players who resort to sprinting at you as soon as the match starts, and follow it up with either a strike or a grapple. Combine that with the game’s somewhat dodgy counter system (which features a very small window of timing), with any latency issue and you’ll more often than not, find yourself on the receiving end of a nasty DDT, Clothesline etc.

The player then waits for your wrestler to get back to his or her feet, before doing the exact same thing again. This process is repeated throughout the entire match, until the player has done enough damage and is able to hit their finisher to pick up the win. Even if you manage to counter their running attacks/grapples and go on the offensive, once they manage to counter you, they go right back to their bread and butter tactic.

Thankfully those over at 2K are working on a way to put an end to this annoyance. When I asked the  game’s official twitter account if they were working on a way to handle online spammers, they answered “we are! We’ll get ’em once and for all!”.

My Personal take:

I for one am certainly glad to know that the developer is actually attempting to fix this issue, instead of just leaving it be. This is incredibly annoying to have to deal with and also results in some ridiculously boring matches. I’m not going to lie, actually getting the W against players like that despite all their spamming is satisfying but the experience is mostly a boring and frustrating affair.

In terms of how they should deal with the spammers, I feel they should make the attacks do less damage over time. Severely decreasing the amount of momentum players earn every time they spam the moves, while increasing the amount stamina required to perform said move, would make the thought of using that tactic less than ideal. Hopefully whatever they choose to implement works in the end, so more players will resort to playing fair and not exploiting the game’s mechanics for an easy win.

Stay tuned for more info as it is revealed.

Uploading Chris Benoit’s Face Textures in WWE 2K15 will Get You Banned

Chris-Benoit-WWE

Recently 2k Games dropped a temporary ban hammer on a user, preventing him from playing WWE 2K15. The offense was uploading Chris Benoit’s face textures to the game’s online community creations.

After tweeting the game’s official twitter account, claiming he (Cory Bundick) had received a two week ban for “no reason”, 2K’s Marcus Stephenson replied stating, “You were banned because you uploaded a Chris Benoit face to community creations.”

https://twitter.com/stephensonmc/status/540520984730931200

For those who are unaware, Chris Benoit was former WWE wrestler, who was involved in a murder-suicide, in which he took his own life after killing his son and wife. Upon learning this, the WWE quickly distanced itself from Benoit. removing his name from company history, no longer having him in their games etc. So it makes sense, as to why uploading his face would be frowned down upon.

So if you want to avoid the ban hammer, it is probably for the best to not upload his likeness. Oh and the same goes for Hitler.

Check out Mark Henry, RVD and Adrian Neville’s Entrances in WWE 2K15 for PS4 and X1

2k Games has released a brand new video for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of WWE 2K15. The focus this time around is on the superstar entrances for Mark Henry, Rob Van Dam and current NXT Champ, Adrian Neville.

The superstar models look pretty impressive and accurate, though RVD looks the least impressive. He might not have been available for face scanning and motion capture.

Graphics Parity? Not With the PS4/Xbox One Versions of WWE 2K15

Goldust

Graphics parity, it is a term that many gamers have come to dislike. The fact that Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be set in at 900p resolution and 30fps on both PS4 and Xbox One — when the PS4 can handle 1080p and 60 fps, has ruffled some feathers. Those who take issue with it feel cheated; that the PS4 version (their version) of the game is being held back due to the limitations, of its slightly less powerful competitor.Though Ubisoft has stated this wasn’t the case and the PS4 version isn’t able to achieve 1080p. Some fans have even declared a boycott of the game because of it. In short, some gamers do no like it when a game for their platform is dumbed down to match the resolution of another.

Now some fans are upset that the same thing is happening with the PS4 and Xbox One versions of WWE 2K15. Thanks to an article on gameidealist, which covered 2K’s twitter Q and A — confirming both versions would look identical.

The thing is, this tweet doesn’t say anything about the resolution of frames per second. Unfortunately thanks to the author putting “Graphics Parity” in the title and stated within the article “First off, they confirmed that the graphics are identical on the two current-gen consoles. Depending on your views, this can be good or bad news:”,  some believe graphical parity has reared its ugly head once again. Many started crying fowl that the PS4 version’s resolution had been lowered/dumbed to match the X1.

But it hasn’t, 2K even confirmed this a while back that both versions would be in 1080p resolution.

So there you have it folks, both versions will be set at 1080p, so you can rest easy.

WWE 2K15 will launch on November 18, 2014 for PS4 and Xbox One.

Find out When You Can Learn of WWE 2K15’s Full Roster, Plus Details on the Digital Versions

triple-h-le-marteleur

Back in August of this year, 2K Games revealed the roster for its upcoming WWE 2K15 video game. Much to the ire of many fans, it wasn’t a full reveal as many superstars where excluded. Since then more have been confirmed; from NXT superstars, Adrian Neville and Cory Graves to the Ultimate Warrior. Though other superstars and divas such as Adam Rose and Paige have been confirmed as DLC. That still leaves many fans wondering, the identity of the remaining superstars and divas to fill up the remaining rosters spots at launch.

Well wonder no more as 2K Games has revealed that fans will have to wait, until they get their hands on the game to find out who else is included. They want it to be a surprise you see.

Other info regarding the game’s roster that should make fans breath a little easier, is that the rosters are identical between the last-gen and current gen versions of the game. The only difference being the General Managers featured in ‘MyCareer’ mode. This story mode that stars the player’s created superstar is exclusive to PS4 and Xbox One versions. So even though 360 and PS3 owners won’t be able to play every game mode, at least they won’t miss out on playable characters.

2K Games has also gone ahead and offered clarification on digital versions of the game and DLC:

  • Xbox 360 version will be available for purchase in all XBL regions (Excluding Japan) on “their specific announced release date”.
  • The PS3 version will be available for purchase on October 28 via PSN
  • Players should be able to pre-order the Xbox One version on November 4 (Subject to change)
  • PS4 owners who preload the game, will have it unlocked at midnight PST on November 18
  • With the exception of Sting (Pre-order), Hogan (Hulkamania Edition), Accelerator and Season Pass, none of the DLC is on disc

WWE 2K15 releases on October 28, 2014 for PS3 and Xbox 360, November 18 for Xbox One and PS4.

5 Games That Would be Perfect for Photo Mode

Grand-Theft-Auto-V-Splash-Image1

With Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor joining the list of games on PS4 (The first third party game) with the popular Photo Mode feature, I’ve been thinking about other titles and how cool it would be to have it. Photo Mode isn’t for everyone, but those who enjoy toying around with it will agree that it adds another layer of fun to whatever game they are playing. The really creative players can pull off some really impressive snapshots.

PM7

One of my Shadow of Mordor snapshots

With that being said below is a list of upcoming and recently released games that would be even more fun with an added Photo Mode. I’m referring to the PlayStation 4 versions since the Xbox One doesn’t have the ability (Yet) to take screenshots. Also seeing as there is a high chance that each AAA PS4 exclusives will be including it, I didn’t bother listing Bloodborne and The Order: 1886.

Grand Theft Auto V – November 18, 2014

gta-v-stunning-screen-6

Rockstar’s latest in its ever popular open-world franchise will be making its way onto the current gen consoles next month. The option to capture whatever crazy antics players will get into when roaming the huge city of Los Santos, is too good of an opportunity to pass up. Epic vehicle stunts, insane shootouts, hooker roadkill and whatever other form of carnage you can pull off. Of course you could also take some breathtaking 1080p shots of the city and mountains and share them for the world to see.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity – November 11, 2014

assassin-s-creed-unity-5433a5b759419

Another open-world title, this time set in Paris during the French Revolution. Being able to capture protagonist Arno Dorian as he engages in combat against the Templars, performs stealth kills, shows of his sweet parkour skills while scaling large buildings and even taking that iconic leap of faith would be something fans would get carried away with. Too bad the game won’t feature naval battles.

WWE 2K15 – November 18, 2014

WWE-2K15-2K14-Graphics-Comparison-Randy-Orton-Header

Not an open-world title, but developer Yukes and 2K games upcoming wrestling game would benefit from this feature. Fans of the game series love to share their content with one another; from their created wrestlers to story lines. With Photo Mode players would become even more share crazy, capturing all kinds of insane shots the wrestlers executing their finishing moves, delivering chair shots, performing high flying moves from ladders and more.

EA Sports UFC – June 17, 2014

ea-sports-ufc-15

Another title that involves sweaty shirtless combatants, grappling and punching your opponents in the face. EA Sports UFC has been out for a few months now but it continues to receive support, including new fighters and takedown moves. So why not Photo Mode? Who wouldn’t want to be able to snap a close up picture of Bruce Lee jamming his foot into the face of Jon Bones or Rhonda Rousey dropping her opponent on their head with a suplex? Yeah, thought so.

The Evil Within – October 14, 2014

TEW

The latest survival horror game (Our Review here) from the mind of Shinji Mikami, would be another great candidate for a Photo Mode inclusion. Protagonist Sebastian Castellanos will come face to face with countless enemies in his quest to discover the truth. With PM, players would be able to capture some truly disturbing images including the many horrific deaths that will undoubtedly befall poor Sebastian.

This piece is the opinion of the author and does not represent RGN as a whole.

So do you agree? What games do you feel should include Photo Mode, or do you think it is a feature that should be forgotten. Sound off in the comments.

WWE 2K15 Soundtrack Revealed; Featuring Songs from Wiz Khalifa, John Cena and More

Cena

The past few WWE games have featured a soundtrack that mainly consisted of the entrance themes of the WWE superstars, much to the disdain of many fans (Myself included). Now that 2k Games have taken over development and production of the titles, fans will be glad to know that — much like the NBA games, WWE 2K15 will feature a licensed soundtrack consisting a songs from some pretty well known artist including Wiz Khalifa.

Khalifa and WWE superstar John Cena have even teamed up to deliver two tracks for the upcoming game; “All Day” and “Breaks”. Neil Lawi, senior vp and general manager for WWE Music Group had this to say:

“We believe in long term relationships with bands/artists and I assure you this isn’t the last time you’ll see Wiz Khalifa involved with WWE,”

“I applaud John for selecting music that reaches across all genres of music and giving us the opportunity to work with these artists in a variety of ways. Maybe you’ll see one performing at WrestleMania next year, who knows?”

Florida Georgia Line’s (Eh) “This Is How We Roll” – feat. Luke Bryan will be in the game but not on the actual soundtrack.

You can view the listing below. Safe to say not everyone will be happy with the selections but I’m looking forward to it personally.

WWE 2K15 Track Listing

Wiz Khalifa & John Cena – “All Day”
B.o.B – “Ready” (Feat. Future)

Flo Rida – “Wild Ones” (Feat. Sia) [WrestleMania 28 Version]
Knife Party – “Bonfire”
Big Smo – “Workin’” (Feat. Alexander King)
Mystery Skulls – “Ghost”
