Rent Your Own Battlefield 4 Servers On PlayStation 4 + Xbox ONE Soon

Battlefield Private Servers - PS4 XBox ONE

EA Games and DICE have made a stumble of a launch with Battlefield 4, but at the end of the day it is still a great multiplayer game when played online with the right people. Soon, those who are unhappy with their server-mates may soon have a solution. The ability to rent your own servers will soon grace the next-gen console versions of the BF4 war games title.

EA is also noted to have been considering past concerns about private servers becoming the sole support for a BF game on console and the damage this could potentially do to the experience of the multiplayer franchise long-term. Official Servers are still being planned to support “Quick Match” mode for example, and hopefully other measures will be taken to provide a good experience for gamers who don’t end up in a clan or cool private server with their buddies in time for EA to drop support for the online multiplayer resource servers of the game.

Will Infamous: Second Son Provide PS+ Instant Demo On PS4?

Infamous Second Son PS Plus

While Microsoft is hard at work this March bringing in new features with their upcoming patch (video and info here),  gamers could be about to see Infamous: Second Son from Sucker Punch and Sony introduce some of the planned features the PlayStation Network has to offer.

Now that the game has gone gold, there is hopefully time for the developers to get these features integrated into the game; some of the potentials include helping others remotely when friends get stuck in a game, and of course the instant demo over PlayStation Network’s cloud servers.

Right now it is unclear exactly which PSN features if any will be upgraded at the time of Infamous: Second Son’s release, but the pressure is growing for Sony and Sucker Punch to announce something in regards to either a possible co-op, multi-player, mission editor, or the PlayStation Plus features listed above which were promised previously by Sony for the PS4’s long term future, and perhaps even more brand-defining. This could be an opportune time to debut a PS Now Beta as well if necessary to boost this integration.

Infamous: Second Son releases for PlayStation 4 exclusively on March 21, 2014. Pre-Order is Now Available for this game.

Charlie Murder Dev Studio Releases TIME VIKING!!!!!ANDSPACERAPTOR For Xbox 360

Time Viking And Space Raptor - Ska Studios - Xbox 360 - RealGamerNewz

Through the New Year’s Eve event many may have noticed a new title has been added to the XBLIG Section of Xbox 360’s Xbox Games Store. We reviewed Charlie Murder back when Ska Studios and Microsoft dropped the title on Xbox LIVE and it won a Gold Game RGN Rating from our team. Now the developers who brought you Charlie Murder present an interestingly titled TIME VIKING!!!!!ANDSPACERAPTOR (or Time Viking! And Space Raptor for those with the hard-of-reading). This title is an unusual looking $1 twin-stick shooter that even has a free demo available for it to aid in preventing buyer’s remorse – but for a dollar you probably can’t go wrong. Take a look at the Launch Trailer below.

Using Xbox ONE w/ Kinect = Nightmare

mountain of garbage

As I sit here and read on Forbes (1 hour before this post was published) “Xbox ONE OS Has Problems” and Microsoft assuring the gamer public (many of whom have still never put their hands on the console) – I realize that many of you have absolutely no idea how f*$^#d xbl is right now. Sony is literally burying Microsoft with PlayStation Network over Xbox Live. Allow me to explain how using Xbox ONE with Kinect is a complete nightmare and utter failure in programming / design. With recent promises from Microsoft that XBL will “get better and better” and so many gamers not bothering to buy an Xbox ONE I felt the need to address this and put it out there.

Voice messaging does t work. Friends online notifications don’t work. Friends list is a disorganized mess. Kinect is a total hit or miss. When my son and I were playing Killer Instinct he was signed in as the dominant XBL account. When I told him an Xbox voice command it overrode him being number one and made me number one. He literally was signed out and had to sign back in. When I had a hiccup with my internet connection all of the tiles went down on the Xbox ONE’s User Interface.

It took me a few reboots of the modem and rebooting the X1 multiple times to get the connection re-established and that’s just to get the tiles working again so the User Interface actually functioned and I could play my games. It’s like they are watching us so closely for every little thing. If my friends sign into Xbox Live it doesn’t let me know. The only way I can see if they’re on is constantly checking my friends list.

Partying up with people is a hassle now too. The whole UI needs serious tweaking and it needed it like last month. This console was nowhere near ready for the 2013 launch Microsoft has just rushed it into. When you are in a game and launch Skype or Internet Explorer it’s worse than a nightmare trying to return to full-screen with the game only. The UI has a learning curve that shouldn’t even exist after we’ve been marketed a lie about the Kinect and ONE interface being incredibly smooth, and yet here it is a pile of bricks falling on your head every time you want to do even the most basic of actions. The system should be user friendly and it’s not. By comparison, using the PS4 is so easy it’s a joke. An 8 yea old or an 80 year old could figure it out because it’s so accessible. If it wasn’t for Killer Instinct I would’ve already disconnected the Xbox ONE system from my TV. Does Microsoft even care? If so, why did they release it in this almost unplayable condition.
XBOX ONE SUCKS

Oh and what is the point of having Internet Explorer if you can’t use a mouse and keyboard? Voice commands are way too limited to browse the net with. The X1 UI is nowhere near advanced enough to have the voice be implemented for everything. The commercials are like sci-fi compared to the sad reality.

I can’t even imagine what a person who has no interest in gaming and buys this console for a multimedia device feels like dealing with the amount of B.S. they will have to learn just to use its basic functions. For people like us its annoying, and we’re tech-savvy. I can’t imagine if say, my in-laws got one. I think it’s going to take at the very least a full year before this console even resembles the pretend fantasy Microsoft tries to pull off in those commercials that are out right now advertising how easy it is to use the X1 UI with Kinect. The X1 gets distracted when the person who is signed in says anything resembling a command. I could go on for days and I only spend small amounts of time in the UI, I play GAMES on my game consoles.

WTF XBOX

Xbox ONE will take even more getting used to for those that are not very familiar with Windows 8 or the Xbox Live interface. Microsoft should be called out for their fantasy commercials, they are literally false advertising this device.

Does voice communication work? Yup nearly flawless. All the time? Hell no. It’s a hit or miss with a terrible ratio of ‘miss’ being obviously way more often than hit. Basic commands like “home” and “off” do good but that’s about it. Oh and don’t forget it’s slower with some things than you would think it should be. Some actions take multiple commands and even verification like “are you sure this is what you want?” to which you must say “yes” if so or “no” or “Xbox home”.

WTF!

Xbox Sucks MEME

Bottom line; MS designed the X1 this way for one reason only. It’s a great marketing device but I guarantee most, and I mean a high percentage being an Xbox owner with 90% of my gaming, won’t use the voice commands after a couple of weeks because they’ll just be too frustrated. The controller does nearly  everything faster and the UI makes it a chore to go around the Kinect’s fully integrated madness.

I honestly see no reason at all for choosing voice commands over controller inputs. Controller input commands always work and you don’t have to tell people to be quiet or turn down the sound in your room. It’s just a silly design built only as a gimmick to try and get people to buy into the fantasy. This system is geared mainly for North America and maybe Europe, but in most other places this console’s design is completely inappropriate and might not even work. I honestly think MS is going to get completely steam-rolled worldwide by Sony and I’m not necessarily happy about it. I don’t want to see a monopoly form but MS is 2 years too late with this all-in-one concept. Sorry guys, I have a smartphone for that and last time I checked everybody in this country has either a computer, laptop, smartphone, or combination of the three.

Talk about irony, EDGE Magazine is the only major publication that had the guts to speak on this but they are basically showing you that this isn’t just one man’s rant. This is a real industry problem for Xbox gamers and Microsoft overall. if major press like EDGE agrees 110 f*$^@ng percent, then clearly the X1 UI is a nearly useless and completely infuriating mess.

At least Snoopy and Jayceon are having fun though, that’s what matters right? Right!?

RIGHT!?!?!?!?

Free-to-Play Spotlight: Fighting Games

F2P Games Free To Play

The rebooted fighting game: Killer Instinct is set to launch exclusively for Xbox One this November and will be free-to-play (much to the surprise of fans). KI will offer a tired pricing model. Here are your options.

  • You can download the game for free and it will feature one playable character for.
  • Additional characters can be purchased individually for $4.99
  • The Combo Breaker Pack – will cost you $19.99 and include all 8 characters (6 will be available at launch, the other two will be released later)
  • The Ultra Edition  – will cover all 8 characters, their costumes, accessory packs and a copy of the original Killer Instinct for $39.99

So those who download the game for free and purchase the additional characters individually will end up spending $24.95 around launch and $34.93 in total once all playable fighters are available. Take note that Killer Instinct will not feature a story mode.

This is a first for the Killer Instinct franchise but it isn’t the first fighting game to go this route. This is the ultimate way to draw in the casual crowd, as they don’t have to feel intimated by the full price tag into second guessing or even passing up a fighting game they have an interest in. Below we’ll take a look at the other free to play fighters, their pricing model (for those of you who are willing to spend)and what they offer for free for those who don’t.

First up,  Tekken Revolution. Developers and publishers Namco Bandai’s first foray into free-to-play territory follows a different model than that of Killer Instinct. Here’s the rundown:

Characters:

  • The game is free to download and features 8 unlocked characters to play with.
  • Playing Ranked, Casual and Arcade mode will earn you gift points. Every time you reach a certain milestone for gift points you will unlock a new character. Who you unlock is random and there are 14 extra characters to unlock at this point in time. More will be added over time via updates.
  • Purchasing the Character Unlock Pass will allow you to unlock a specific character regardless of how much gift points you have for $5.99.

  Coins:

This system sets Tekken Revolution apart from previous Tekken games and other fighting games in general as they affect the duration of your play time;

  • Arcade Coin – allows one playthrough of Arcade Mode and will replenish every hour. The player can hold up to 2 of these at any given time.
  • Battle Coinallows one match in Online Battle (either Ranked Match or Player Match). These will replenish every 30 minutes and up to 5 may be held at any given time.
  • Premium Ticket – functions as either one of the above with the exception of being awarded when certain conditions are met. When consumed, these will continue to regenerate in Online Battle as long as the player does not lose. This gives an advantage to advanced players.
  • Premium Coin – Purchasable with real money and functions as a Premium Ticket. 4 Premium Coins cost $0.99, 10 for $1.99 and 30 for $4.99. Up to 999 Premium Coin can be held by a player.
  • Coin Priority – By default, free coins are given priority. However, after the version 1.02 update, the player can select between free coin or premium coins/tickets by pressing R1 at the main menu. Sign-In Bonus there is a reward for consecutively logging in daily. With each day logged in, the player is awarded with gift points, fight money, and premium tickets. The amount of reward varies with how many consecutive days logged in.

Other purchases:

Along with Premium Coins and Character unlocks you can also purchase;

  • Costumes – Purchased in sets. Each set contains 3 color palette swaps. Priced at $1.99 each.
  • Premium Effects – Flashy colors that enhanced the look of each character’s special attacks called critical arts. Jut for visual effect. Once purchased, the effects cannot be removed.
  • Reset Drinks (1, 5) – Tekken Revolution features a RPG style system that allows the player, using skill points to upgrade each individual fighter’s stats; Strength, Endurance and Vigor (Health). Reset Drinks allow you to rest those points if you are unsatisfied with your fighter’s stats. The player can have up to 99. 1 Reset Drink cost $2.99 and a set of 5 cost $4.99.

If you don’t mind the grind and don’t care about paying for costumes then you can play Tekken Revolution and unlock every character without ever having to spend a dime. Warm-Up Space; the game’s practice mode can be played for as long as you want, due to there being no time limit. Unfortunately TKR does not feature a local versus mode, so you can forgot about having friends over for some couch sessions.

Tekken Revolution is out now exclusively on PlayStation 3’s PSN.

Next up is Tecmo Koei Games’ Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Core Fighters. This game is basically a free to play version of the recently released Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate and like it offers a lot of content with several different modes to play and features to mess around with. Many of which are free;

Free Content:

  • Core Fighters 4 of the game’s playable fighters are available for free with the download.
  • Local Modes – Versus, Arcade, Time Attack, Survival which can be played solo or in tag teams (Up to 4 players). Team Fight (Up to two players) and 4 Training modes including Free Training and Combo Challenge. A Spectator mode that allows you to watch two CPU controlled fighters duke it out and or watch replays of fights you have saved. An Album for viewing saved photos. You can watch movies unlocked from playing story mode. There’s Fight Record for viewing your player.. erm…fight record and titles you can view and equip for your online profile.
  • Online Modes Rank Match (1-on-1) and Lobby match (Up to 16 players). Leaderboards.

Purchasable  Content:

  • Additional Characters – Can be purchased individually for $3.99. There are 25 additional characters available for purchase.
  • Complete Character Set – Unlocks all 25 additional characters for $34.99.
  • Dead or Alive 5 Story Mode – Yes you read that right, this game does feature a story mode but it is locked in the free to play version. In order to unlock it you will have to fork over $14.99.
  • Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate (Full Game) – For 39.99, you get the full Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate experience. All of the characters, trophies will be enabled etc.
  • Background Music – For $0.99 each you can purchase two separate packs that feature music from Dead or Alive 2 and Dead or Alive 3.
  • Costumes – All 81 costumes can be purchased for $39.99 or individually and they range from $0.99 to $1.99. Smaller bundle packs can be purchased and they range from $5.99 to $8.99.

It’s worth noting that players who download the free version can play online, with and against others who purchased the full retail version.

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Core Fighters is also available now exclusively on PSN, though don’t rule out the possibility of a Xbox 360 version according to Tecmo.

Last but not least is Ubisoft’s Spartacus Legends, a game developed in collaboration with the critically acclaimed Spartacus TV series from Starz. In Legends the player takes on the role of a Lanista and one of their Gladiators in battle. The player must buy, train, and equip a stable of warriors and send them to the arena to fight other gladiators. Remember this is still a fighting game, so the player does get to control the gladiators during these brutal showdowns. Here’s the rundown:

  • The game is free to download with complete access to all of its contents; the single player story, online multiplayer, weapons, equipment, perks, execution moves and additional gladiators.

All of the purchasable items within Legends can be bought with silver and gold, the game’s form of currency. Currency is earned from winning fights, though gold is a lot harder to come by than silver. Items that cost about 1,000 silver coins would only cost a few gold, making it easier and quicker to get better things. For those who don’t want quicker access can purchase gold coins. These are the different options available.

  • 50 Gold Coins – Priced at $4.99
  • Gladiator Starter Pack – This pack gifts the player with 100 gold coins, the Oenomaus sword and shield, Fame, Silver, Health Boosts, and the fatal Lobotomy Executions. Priced at $14.99
  • 240 Gold Coins – Priced at $19.99 (Your)
  • 650 Gold Coins – $49.99 (Eyes)
  • 1100 Gold Coins – $74.99 (Do not)
  • 3000 Gold Coins – $149.99 (Deceived You!)

A fair word of warning if you want to play through this game without paying a dime. You better bring some insane skills, I’m talking Chuck Norris (I know it’s played out) level skills. Even then it may not be enough if you also don’t have good enough equipment, as the A.I. in this game gets insanely difficult as you progress and start possessing some of the best weapons and armor in the game. If your gladiator is executed then you are allowed to revive him for free once and only once. Any other revive attempt will cost you gold. In the long run you will be tempted to spend your actual money in order to progress as the game drifts towards the pay-to-win category.

Spartacus Legends is available on PSN and XBL.

There you have it, all of the free-to-play fighters that are currently out on the market (except Killer Instinct).

The Walking Dead Episode One Free

US accounts for the Xbox Live and PlayStation Network services on Xbox 360 and PS3 are able to download The Walking Dead: Episode One video game by Telltale Games, although it is unclear how long this will last. The Wolf Among Us has also been put up for pre-order by Telltale Games and it is highly likely that the game is being offered free as a guerrilla advertising technique. Valhalla Knights was recently seen to be free in the same way (and still is at the time of this post) and is also expected to be a form of promotion for the upcoming Valhalla Knights 3. Digital Distribution has its perks after all.

PS4 Gets PS4/Vita Party Chat System ; Xbox ONE Gets SKYPE And Party Chat

Xbox ONE PlayStation 4 Party Chat Systems

PlayStation 4 will allow players to party chat with others who are not playing the same game as them through voice communications similar to Xbox 360’s version of Xbox Live service currently live today and seen throughout this long current generation of game consoles as an exclusive Xbox 360 feature. PlayStation Vita was the first Sony gaming device to allow this feature. Sony PS4 will allow gamers to also invite PlayStation Vita members to chat with them, though this feature tends to not be used much on the handheld gaming device (since it’s handheld after all). This is still an advanced and welcomed feature for those who would use it to keep in touch with friends while in the middle of gaming, and you wouldn’t have to be playing the same game, which is nice.

Xbox ONE will be using Party Chat similar to the Xbox 360 but with the added ability of SKYPE allowing you to talk to people who are not on game devices but in fact nearly two hundred million registered accounts belonging to gamers, non-gamers, and people of all kinds who use SKYPE on their smartphone, iPod Touch, Desktop Computer, Laptop, or a number of other devices which support the world’s largest text/voice/video instant messaging application. Xbox ONE will also allow for picture-in-picture action so that a small image of the person you’re talking to will be visible if they are using their camera while Skyping with you and you can continue playing your games while not missing out on the view. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to Party Chat with friends on Xbox 360 unless they use Skype through another device, but they’ll still be able to see what you’re playing via Friends List, you’ll still be able to see what they’re playing, and messages can still occur back and forth.

**Editor’s Note: When asked for further clarification on this, Sony had no comment but Aaron Greenberg of Microsoft has let us know on public social media that more features and services will be detailed / announced closer to the Xbox ONE’s launch near the end of the year, as many policies are still being brainstormed and decided on in order to provide the best and most unique experience they possibly can.**

Streaming Porn Service coming to next Xbox

The app that has a membership at 7.95 $ a month is coming to the next Xbox. It is already in use on PS3 and other various devices but they have confirmed they will on the new Xbox and might be appearing at their event. They claimed that consoles are “Multimedia Entertainment Delivery Systems” so this could be a big deal for them, but seeing bang bros 69 next to Call of Duty Ghosts will be interesting.

Nex Gen PlayStation 4 & Xbox 720 Games Could Be Rented Digitally

Nex Gen games might be rented digitally. One example of this that exists today came with a revisit to a beloved franchise. The free demo released for Battlefield 1942 dropped players in the middle of the full multiplayer game with active matches taking place and streamlined action gaurunteed. After a certain amount of time, the demo was locked and a gamer would have to purchase the title digitally to continue playing. If they didn’t enjoy themselves, they could simply delete the demo and forget about it.

PlayStation Plus turned this into a new standard for digital entertainment. With their 1 hour trials that exist today, we may be seeing a sneak peak into the future of the video game rental industry. Dueling with used games sales and rental services, next generation hardware like PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 will likely provide at least a little resistance against such traditional game business formats. The digital option is one that gives power back to the game publishers and developers, without having to sacrifice the age old tradition of taking a video game for a test drive before purchase.

Rumor: Saints Row 4 Already in Production for PS4 and Xbox 720

There’s nothing like walking, driving, swimming, boating, and flying around Stillwater. The Third installment to the series as the game at WAR apparently now with Grand theft Auto which I can see why but its not needed like bf3 vs mw3. Mainly, Saints Row is it’s own game but many believe can’t compare to GTA so let’s focus on The Third here.

Now as we all now in the first two Saints games they mainly take place together in a storyline that has one goal…be the biggest and the best gang is Stilwater. Which if you beat Saints Row 2 it is the biggest and baddest gang around and no one can stop the Saints….well maybe back then but now someone can. The syndicate which is a large crime family wants the Saints to go down. In Saints Row The Third you take the battle to a new city.

This open world game of fun and power with all the weapons ,vehicles and the city itself. Theres a lot to do in the wide area of the city pretty much anything from slapping old ladies to going on  a road rage.

The new engine should seem very much the same but at the same time a lot different. It depends on what type of gamer you are if you tell a difference from any of the Saints Rows at all besides graphics as they seem to be getting realer every single year now.
