Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s Final DLC Pack Revealed

Call-of-Duty-Advanced-Warfare-137655

The fourth and final DLC pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has been revealed by Activision today. Releasing first for Xbox 360 and Xbox One on August 4th, the Reckoning pack will include 4 brand new multiplayer maps and the final episode for the EXO Zombies game mode.

Official Reckoning pack info:

  • Overload – Enjoy the grand view of downtown New Baghdad from this exotic compound, complete with fountains, gardens and decorative plasma lamps. The map’s multiple levels and long perimeter site-lines highlight medium to long-range combat, and firing a shot at the lamps will send enemies flying in a burst of energy.
  • Quarantine – Following a deadly viral outbreak, the island has been converted into a biological testing center. This medium sized map’s tight corners dial up the speed and open areas combine to allow for any style of gameplay. Activate the map-based scorestreak to unleash a devastating ship-fired missile strike.
  • Fracture – Discover what secrets are locked in the ice in this arctic excavation site. Take refuge behind wind turbines and heavy equipment through large combat areas cradled on the shelf of a glacier. Stay alert as the timed event cracks the ice sheet, sending one lane sinking to the depths.
  • Swarm – Reconstruction is underway in Seoul, South Korea, congesting narrow corridors of this small to medium sized map with vehicles and equipment. Take position in war-scarred storefronts that provide plenty of cover over the streets or flank the enemy through close quarter interiors in the center of the map.
  • Descent (Exo Zombies) – In the last episode, the team – Bill Paxton (Aliens, Titanic, Edge of Tomorrow), Rose McGowan (Planet Terror, Scream), Jon Bernthal (Fury, The Wolf of Wall Street) and new member Bruce Campbell(Army of Darkness, Burn Notice), are about to escape from the Atlas aircraft carrier on which they’ve been stranded. But before they do, they discover their friend and original squad member, John Malkovich (In the Line of Fire, RED, Burn After Reading), has been turned, and is now among the undead. Descent introduces a remote ocean Atlas survival facility, new “fused” exo zombie enemies, and the Trident Reflected Energy Weapon.

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is WWE 2K16’s Cover Superstar

austin-cover

WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin will grace the cover of this year’s WWE video game. In an article on WWE.com, the Texas Rattlesnake offered his thoughts on following 2K’s recent selections, John Cena (2K15) and The Rock (2K14).

“I’ve had the privilege of working with 2K to support the WWE 2K franchise, and now I’m absolutely honored to serve as the WWE 2K16 cover Superstar,” said Stone Cold Steve Austin. “No disrespect to the previous and extremely deserving WWE 2K cover Superstars – Dwayne ‘The Rock®’ Johnson and John Cena® – but it’s about time the franchise raised some hell with yours truly on the cover. I look forward to injecting a dose of ‘Texas Rattlesnake’ into this year’s game and overall campaign.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Gets the Comic Book Prequel Treatment

BLOPS3 Comic

This fall you can add Activision’s next Call of Duty title to the list of video games with a prequel comic. November 4, will see the release of Dark Horse Comics’ Call of Duty: Black Ops III prequel comic book. It is being written by Larry Hama (G.I. Joe), with Marcelo Ferreira (Transformers, TMNT) doing the art.

Page

“A prequel to the highly-anticipated game, the Call of Duty®: Black Ops III comic book series follows an elite group of soldiers as they wage a secret war across a futuristic war-torn world transformed by technology,” Dark Horse detailed in a press release. “In the bullet-ridden first issue, the team infiltrates Tashkent, Uzbekistan to take down a double agent . . . but as they close in, they uncover something much more sinister at hand.”

Fans attending the San Diego Comic-Con convention next week can pick up an exclusive Call of Duty: Black Ops III mini-comic. It’ll be available at the Activision installation or the Dark Horse Comics booth (#2615).

Hamas is very familiar with video games and the Call of Duty series, having played Modern Warfare and worked on Wolverine’s Revenge. Sadly he can’t play video games anymore due to arthritis.

“A lot of the appeal of Call of Duty is in how it puts you directly in the action. That’s pretty difficult to replicate in a graphic story format, so the aim in a comic adaptation is to provide more of what you don’t get a lot of in the game,” Hama said. “We’re talking character development and back-story, and a more involved personal interaction between the characters.  Also, it’s possible to really flesh out the story line, create running sub-plots, and explain technical details that aren’t that easy to convey in the game environment.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops III will launch on November 6, 2015 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

WWE 2K16’s Roster of Over 120 Characters Will Ship on Disc

2K16_character_art_paige-3972582330

When the first six superstars/diva were announced for the WWE 2K16 roster, the game’s developer promised it would have the “largest roster ever” in a WWE videogame. Not everyone was buying into the tagline, so the devs took to instagram to offer some clarification, stating the 120+ playable Superstars and Divas will all have unique models.

“For anyone doubting the ”largest roster ever” tag line for WWE 2k16, let us assure you, that we are bringing over 120 unique playable Superstars and Divas to the game. Now when we say unique, we’re not counting the repeats like 5 John Cena models, or 8 Mark Henry models. As you can imagine, these models are keeping us crazy busy, but it is worth it. #wwe2k16largestrostereve”

Due to the practice of releasing playable characters post launch as DLC, it is no surprise that some would assume the 120+ player count also includes whatever downloadable characters they may release. A tweet was sent out from the devs’ official twitter account to put an end to those assumptions. The 120+ unique models are on the disc and will ship with the game.

This is great news for those who were worried, that they may only end up with half that number come launch day.

New Rise of the Tomb Raider Gameplay Surfaces

Rise-of-The-Tomb-Raider

Crystal Dynamics has dropped a brand new gameplay video for their Tomb Raider sequel. The video picks up where the E3 gameplay left off and we find Lara trekking through the snowy wilderness of Siberia.

Lara has new ways of dispatching bad guys, from stealthy bow kills involving poison arrows, to the ever popular “death from above” stealth kill. The crafting system introduced in the 2013 reboot makes a return as we see Lara craft herself the aforementioned poison arrows. Ms Croft doesn’t just have to contend with humans in the wild but highly dangerous animals as well, including a very big, very pissed off Bear.

How will Lara overcome this ferocious beasts? You’ll have to watch to find out.

Rise of the Tomb Raider launches on November 10, 2015 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It is a timed exclusive.

Now we have an image of what he’ll look like in the game, thanks to a tweet from the new WWE 2KDev account. We can see Balor standing next to a monitor displaying his virtual self wearing in his Demon getup.

For those of you who don’t know, Balo wears his demon garb whenever he wrestles at PPVs.
