While we will have a complete Review coming to the website very soon for Ubisoft Blue Byte’s Anno Online, I wanted to take a few minutes to give you my impressions after getting my teeth sunk into it a little bit. For starters, the tutorial and active, mature community of gamers in Anno Online help to walk you through every bit of getting started.
The essence of this game is the experience of ruling over an island eventually set to become a full fledged empire of citizens, constantly evolving themselves and their social standards. With these evolutions also come higher demands for certain products such as wool, wood, food, faith (in the form of churches), and much more. Trade by Sea, and discovery of up to 4 new islands for free also occurs (more can be purchased later). This allows you to expand your empire even further.
Anno Online can be compared to SimCity once you get the hang of it. It’s basically a non-violent real-time-strategy game that allows you to build and build while being challenged to balance and control the flow of resources. You will have to weigh out your budget and prevent from running at a loss while also trying to expand your reach and populate your land with people. Starting out can be frustrating for new players, but thankfully there are plenty of respectable people online playing it to help you along.
Once you get really deep into the mechanics and understand what you are doing you will be able to easily play the game without thinking too hard. At this point the game becomes very addictive and enjoyable as you gain a full appreciation for the simulation that’s taking place. It’s something like a mix between playing god and playing a video game. Anno Online can be played for free in your web browser, to start now CLICK HERE and be on the lookout for a more in-depth and full review coming to RealGamerNewz.com soon.Follow RealGamerNewz: YouTube | Facebook | Twitter | Google+ | RSS
