Digital Game Prices To Be Changed Before Europe Gets PS4

Crash Bandicoot PS4

It has been confirmed by Sony that the prices of Digital games for the PS4 will come down. This after a week of scrutiny for both EA and Sony when it was revealed that the price would be £63 on the PlayStation store making them more expensive than their competitors. They have dropped to £60 and will drop lower, similar to Xbox One prices.

“Although PS4 launches in Europe on the 29th November, we have switched on the European PSN early to test and make sure that features and functionality are fully operational for launch,” Sony told Eurogamer.”

“However, as PS4 and PSN have not yet officially launched in this region, nothing on the PSN is final, including pricing on the store. You will continue to see some prices adjusted over the next few days in preparation for launch “on Friday”

Purchased a game already? Don’t worry you will be refunded the difference when the price is lowered according to Sony.

Wii U….. My View! ….

Wii U is one of the most controversial video game systems ever created. The system receives a high amount of attention, arguably more than the next gen consoles combined. However, this attention isn’t good.

Costing less than the soon to be released Xbox One and PS4, the Wii u continues the ground breaking trend of innovation by incorporating the use of a second screen (a tablet) during game play. It only helps that those games purchased not so long ago on the original Wii system are playable. All controllers and Accessories are compatible also.

The system is armed with 2 GB of ram, one dedicated to games while the other to the systems OS. It seems the problem is that developers are claiming it cannot keep up or that it is not powerful enough. Thus, we have the shortage of 3rd party support and the ever growing popularity of hate towards the system. Not only that, the systems aren’t moving off store shelves as they should due to lack of marketing and or confusion between the Wii and Wii U. (Both systems have a similar name and look.)

The Wii U offers a new way to play at a competitive price as it relates to it’s competitors. Those Nintendo icons that stood the test of time will make their appearances on the system bringing back precious memories for those of us who started out with Nintendo originally.

The convenience of being able to play on the tablet alone is an added bonus. Perhaps, someone could save on their electricity bill if only during a game play session by turning off the TV and using the game pad instead. The ability to conversate through Miiverse reminds me of Facebook but for gaming. Feel like posting a pic or a comment about a game? Stuck on a level and not sure how to get past it? Post away and in no time you will have the help you need. The communities of Wii U owners are there to welcome you with open arms no matter what games you have.

Many say that they are bored with the system as it lacks most of the games seen on other systems. Compared to systems Xbox 360 and PS3, the Wii U has some distance to go as far as the game library is concerned. However, since the next generation of gaming has started the other systems are in their transition as PS4 and Xbox One take their place. The Wii U will offer a nice alternative to those systems as the current Nintendo games cannot be found elsewhere.

The Wii U doesn’t deserve the negativity that it receives as it needs more time to grow. The system is only one years old. Let the system mature to full potential before it’s tossed out to slaughter.

Are you a Wii U owner? What are your thoughts? Do you think the Wii U deserves the hate that it is receiving? Comment and share below! Is Nintendo to blame for all the hate on Wii U?

1. Wii U- This should come as no surprise as I have been an advocate for the Nintendo Wii U. As mentioned in earlier posts, Nintendo failed to market the system and games were often delayed. With the launch of “Super Mario 3D World” Wii U sales are sure to pick up. Why Wii U? Currently, it has more quality games than the other next gen systems.

2. PlayStation 4- The beast of the next generation came charging in with pretty graphics and a ton of bells and whistles. Beyond the tech, the graphic fidelity now rivals pc.  It’s fast, fluid and allows you to broadcast your gaming  live on Twitch!

3.  Dreamcast- Released in 1999, this system offered mind blowing graphics and was revolutionarily ahead of its time. I remember spending countless hours playing Soul Caliber, Dead or Alive 2 and Shenmue.  I feel this system should have lasted longer than it did. Oh Dreamcast, your still in my dreams!

4. GameCube- The Cube! Another system made by Nintendo, also a graphic power house with games such as Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil one remake and Luigi’s Mansion.  This system featured mini game discs and a system in the shape of a cube. Unfortunately, to some the original launch color was a turn off. No one could deny the great games that were on this system.

5. Sega Geneses- The Sega Geneses is another system that I grew up playing. I remember playing games like Vector Man, Streets of Rage and Mortal Kombat and Sonic.  Again, the graphics were cool for the time and during those days Sega was on top of it’s game as it relates to competition with Nintendo.

6.  Nintendo NES- The system that started it all for me, was the  NES.  Mario was like a brother I never had, as I tried to  help him save his peaches, I mean Princess Peach. The system offered great games and established the video game icons that we are so familiar with today.

7.  Just because the system is at the bottom of the list doesn’t mean its not my favorite. The Sony PlayStation ushered in a new level of gaming. 3D graphics allowed limitless games to be made and as such the system boasted a game in just about every genre. My favorite genre was fighting, I can remember playing Tekken 2 and Tobal #1 and Battle Arena Toshinden for hours, thanks Sony PlayStation!

What are you favorite video game systems? Did next generation put the icing on the cake for you so much so that it replaces all previous generations of gaming? Is their a tie between a particular system? Do you disagree with my list? If so, comment below. Hit the follow buttons below also to make sure you are alerted when I make a post!

You Know You Were Thinking It Part 3! [RGN Series]

The series you love and cherish is back for another go, the one that reveals those secret thoughts in the back of every gamer’s mind. You Know You Were Thinking It – Part 3! Only on RealGamerNewz.com

1. The COD After Black Ops II – What will the zombies be like? What kinda powers will they have?

2.  What’s up with Mortal Kombat Vita’s graphics? Could we get graphics that actually take advantage of the system’s power? I know a lot of people make excuses for it stating that its a PlayStation 3 port but they could have adjusted the engine some how. If the developers of this game want to be recognized for greatness, it looks like they need to put in work.

3.  Is there anyone else who thought that the PS Vita would have a multitude of apps or games for that matter? Can you say dry spell? Hopefully the recent Final Fantasy X HD showing at last night’s PS Vita Event and upcoming Killzone: Mercenary…

…will be enough to keep gamers going for a while longer alongside Black Ops: Declassified, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation.

4. Some of the biggest games out there are Halo 4, Black Ops II, Battlefield 3, and Medal of Honor: Warfighter, but will repetitive releases doom us to just more of the same?

5. How do game companies expect to release next generation systems in the summer time while legendary anticipation has already built for upcoming current generation releases? Will the 2013 PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 release window turn out to be all hype? Only time will tell how long it takes to bring a concept into reality all over again.

You Know You Were Thinking It! Part 2

Welcome back to You Know You Were Thinking It! a series from Deon Lofton of RealGamerNewz.com where Deon will be exposing those hidden thoughts that are in the back of every gamer’s mind.

1. Is camping really the future of First Person Shooters? I hope not.

Call of Duty Campers

2. Duke Nukem? Who? Remind me who that is again? (Here’s a video  for those of you who may be a little young for this one.)

3. Ever wonder what’s really on Link’s mind as he is roaming through the forest?…………. It’s probably not what you think (hint, hint).

4. We all have played a game that was very difficult. For me, that game was Final Fantasy 7.  I am still stuck in the factory, 15 years later – talk about difficult.

5. What’s up with these video game system intial startup times? First the beep (on PS3), then the noise of the fan (on Xbox 360), then the logo. I mean, you can practically make a cup of coffee before the system finishes loading – just saying. Here’s to hoping the next generation will be faster!

6. So, who won the battle? Battlefield 3 or Call Of Duty? The numbers speak for themselves.

7. I see Fat Princess is still eating that cake! She can’t get enough.

8. Ok I mentioned him before but, didn’t Dom from the Gears of War series deserve to live? I mean, his wife was tormented by the Locust – woudn’t that be enough? I can see it now, a Gears of War spin- off featuring Dom as the main Character! But it’s probably just wishful thinking on my part, I guess.

9. Who’s really going to win the battle? Street Fighter or Tekken? I Guess we will have to wait and see.

10. Do boobs really help sell a game? I think so. We will probably find out when we see how well Soul Calibur V does.

11. With all the fighting games were seeing this year, one has to wonder, where is Virtua Fighter 6?

12. Speaking of fighting, where is Battle Arena Toshinden? Sophia’s whip will put Ivy under submission.

13. CJ has been away from the scene for a long time. He’s probably hanging  out with his crew underground. He was the best GTA character right up there next to Luis Lopez.

Are Graphics Really Important?

We all know that eye candy is a good thing but, is it all that matters? When examining past systems like the first Playstation, it was all about gameplay. I can remember playing Crash Bandicoot without a care in the world. Sure, the graphics were impressive at the time – but the gameplay was far more superior than some games to date.

As Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 reach their prime it is evident that this generation has been pushed to its max. Will the next generation be the answer?

There are many games coming out today that are broken because developers focus on graphics as a first priority. The line between graphics and good gameplay must be blurred in order to ensure playability that lasts for years to come.

What are your thoughts on this? What games do you remember from the past that had superior gameplay to many of today’s. Comment below.

Are Yearly Released Games Ruining The Single Player Experience?

As games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Assassin’s Creed continue to be released each year, one must wonder what effect it may have on the single player experience. Other games that stand out are the Uncharted series and God of War, which all deliver passionate, classical one player stories.

Most games today try to include a story mode to give background. However, in many games we see the errors in thought process, with characters not fitting in or being underdeveloped.

I’m sure you can relate to the feeling of making it through to the end only to be underwhelmed as the ending did not happen as you anticipated. The answer is that games like the God of War series continue to offer that one person thrill and set the bar for other games to follow, whether they intended to or not. What are your thoughts on the matter? Are we beginning to see the watering down of single player game modes and games overall?

You Know You Were Thinking It!

This is a new section I will be doing to expose those hidden thoughts that are in the back of every gamer’s mind. You know you were thinking it!

1. Why does Princess Peach always need to be rescued? After all, the moves she has in various Mario games shows she’s capable of defending herself!

2. Was I the only person to think that Link was actually named Zelda? Talk about confused.

3. Will Sonic The Hedgehog ever die? It’s like the Energizer battery he keeps going and going.

4. Where is Shenmue 3?

5. How Many Mushrooms Can One Man Eat? aka Mario?

6. Did Dom from Gears of War go to Heaven or Hell?

7. Killer Instinct reboot? I hope and pray.

8.How many cakes can a Fat Princess eat?

9. Did MW3 steal all the Zombie’s glory? Uh oh, Zombie Revenge is imminent, or is it just DLC? Just kidding.

10. Finally, wouldn’t it be cool if Cat Women and Ryu from Ninja Gaiden shared a game together? Claws and Heads would be flying. Priceless.
