Sony has officially confirmed that the price of the standard PlayStation 4 console will be reduced to $349.99 in the United States tomorrow, Friday October 9, 2015, and this includes Sony’s first-party studios Naughty Dog product The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 Bundle while supplies last.
The Limited Edition Call of Duty Black Ops III PS4 Bundle with 1 Terabyte hard drive already installed goes for $429.99 and releases November 6, 2015.
This Limited Edition Star Wars Battlefront PS4 Bundle with Darth Vader on it and a custom DualShock 4 controller retails at $399.99 on November 17, 2015 and the standard PS4 console with black DualShock 4 can be purchased with Star Wars Battlefront as a bundle for $349.99 as of November 17 as well.
This announcement comes at the heals of overwhelming demand paired with success in the PS4 brand. Pressure had recently been applied to the pricing structure as retailers had leaked the price cuts ahead of this announcement. Microsoft is expected to announce some form of price cut as well, and one thing that would be great to see is an option for a bigger stock hard drive in one of these Limited Edition consoles, 2 Terabytes or larger would be great.
